NATIONAL AIREDALE TERRIER ASSOCIATION

Single breed open show

Sunday 13th October 2019

It is always a privilege to judge a breed club open show. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with the National Airedale Terrier Association and was made most welcome by the Officers, Committee and of course the exhibitors. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to judge a reasonable number of the breed.

Minor puppy dog (2 entries 1 absent)

1st Hampton & Hall’s Touessrok Overture at Muliebrity-8 months and still quite rangy. Delightful temperament, lovely coat and colour, movement a bit slack but he is very much a baby.

Puppy dog (2 entries)

1st Toulson’s Toulsyork Quantum Quinn-caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Super type. Very advanced for his age. Beautiful body condition with good ribbing, substantial but not coarse. Good tail set and carriage. Masculine all through. Very eye catching when stacked, a bit of a handful on the move but is still young. Best dog, Res BIS and BPIS. Should have a very bright future.

2nd Touessrok Overture at Muliebrity

Junior dog (1 entry)

1st Lee’s Stargus Grande Spirit-another one who was forward for his age. Good outline, good depth of chest, nice proportions, good mover and indeed was one of the best movers of the day. Would prefer just a bit more refinement in head. Res best dog.

Graduate dog (1 entry)

1st Milkovics’ Wederdena’s Stargazer-2 years old, good temperament, good tail carriage and steady showman. Could do with a bit more strength behind and a slightly better topline.

Open dog (2 entries, 1 absent)

1st Purchon’s Jokyl Draw The Line-stylish dog, super neck and shoulders, lovely type of head with correct expression, could be a little stronger behind. Looked a touch fine against the two youngsters.

Veteran dog (2 entries, 1 absent)

1st Webber’s Sherifs Red Hot ShCM-correct fairly cobby outline, well presented and knew his job. A bit heavy in neck and ears which pegged him for higher awards.

Minor puppy bitch (1 entry)

1st Legrove’s Crillee Carry On Cry Baby-first show for both the puppy and the owner and they put on a very competent performance. Super temperament, good bone and the correct size for her age. Still a very raw baby.

Puppy bitch (2 entries)

1st Turner’s Crillee Carry On My Baby-only a baby but has a beautiful outline, lovely neck, super topline, good tailset and carriage. One for the future.

2nd Edwards’ Lytchdale Merveilleux-mature young lady with good bone, super coat and an attractive coat. Not the elegance of head of the winner.

Junior bitch (2 entries)

1st Shields’ Toulsyork Phenomenal at Shielmarh-presented a good picture, super topline, well presented, a touch long in body and skull could be a bit narrower, good show temperament and caught my eye in the challenge to finish up res BB.

2nd Richardson’s Glentops Naughty But Nice-plenty to like about this one, good type, decent bone, good texture to the jacket, good rear movement. Topline dipping a little.

Maiden bitch (2 entries)

1st Glentops Naughty But Nice

2nd Webber’s Kaolin Little Miss Fabulous -looked ok when standing, shoulders a bit upright and a bit weak in rear.

Graduate bitch

(2 entries, 1 absent)

1st Fearnhead’s Singrett Just An Illusion at Settlebeck-showy girl, nice outline and a good rear, skull could be more refined. Overall quite stylish.

Limit bitch (4 entries, 2 absent)

1st Turner’s Crillee Cool Wishes-ultra feminine, good outline, lovely feet, perhaps a bit narrow all through.

2nd Aylett’s Jecadie Joyful Spiced Star at Rillaton-bigger sort, decent jacket, ok in outline. Just a bit heavy all through for me.

Open bitch ( 4 entries, 2 absent)

1st Hampton & Hall’s Muliebrity Sun Kissed-gosh this one really was eyecatching. Quality all through. The best head of the day with gorgeous ears which she really knew how to use. Great expression. Super neck, level topline, super proportions and a lovely tail carriage. All topped off with excellent presentation. Covered the ground effortlessly. Unmistakeably a bitch but still had the requisite bone and substance. A class act. BB and a well deserved BIS.

2nd Purchon’s Nedella Allspice at Ellwoodkings-almost a veteran and heavier all through than the winner. Well presented jacket and good furnishings.

Veteran bitch (1 entry)

1st Fury’s Saredon Lorelli-in great form for 9 years old. Good outline, good jacket, skull a little heavy but is a decent type. Best veteran.
