Norfolk & Norwich Canine Society

Norfolk and Norwich Canine Society Open Show 21st July 2019 

I would like to thank Norfolk and Norwich Canine Society for inviting me to judge at their Open Show.. I would also like to thank exhibitors for their entry. I thoroughly enjoyed my day, and I had some excellent quality dogs to go over. All the dogs were well turned out and in good condition. I was delighted to see my BOB Standard Long to win Group 1, BOB Miniature Long win Group 3 and 3 and BOB Miniature Smooth win Group 4. 

Dachshund Standard Long Haired 

Open Dog/Bitch :1st Ms G Marks Labbadax Lewisville Texas; 2-year-old well balanced dog. Strong masculine head, good length of neck, good front assembly and good length of ribbing and keel. Good strong hind quarters.  Moves with purpose and drive, holding a good top line throughout. BOB & Grp 1  

Dachshund Miniature Long Haired 

Junior Dog/Bitch  :1st Mr  & Mrs Watkins Wildstar Wrosberg; 15 mth old dog. Good masculine head, good length of neck. Good shoulders, length of ribbing and keel. Good hind quarters. Would prefer more width front and back. Moved well and held a good top line. 2nd Mrs J Pitfield’s Follyfield Fabrico; 15 mth old dog of good proportions and well balanced. Lovely masculine head and expression, good length of neck. Good shoulders, length of ribbing and keel. Moved well, but unfortunately lost his top line on the move. Also, would prefer more width front and back 

Post Graduate Dog/Bitch :  1st Mrs J Pitfield’s Luna Caprese D’oroed’Argento of Follyfield; 4-year-old dog. Good masculine head and expression. Good front and nice padded feet. Good length of ribbing and keel. Moved with drive holding a good top line. RBOB. 2nd Miss E Rice’s Cunannun Faye Ella at Taxoreis; 3-year-old feminine bitch, well balanced. Good head and expression, good length of neck. Good length of ribbing and keel. Would like to see better hind angulation. Moved and handled well. Just did not have the presence and drive of 1st  

Open Dog/Bitch: 1st Mr R Wood’s Wildstar Wreward; 3-year-old- dog. Strong but elegant head. Good length of neck flowing to good shoulders. Good length of ribbing and keel. Good turn of stifle. Very nice outline and good, level and strong top line. BOB, Grp 3. 2nd Mrs J Pitfield’s Follyfield Farley’s Fella; 5-year-old dog, nice masculine head, would prefer more length of neck, good front and shoulders. Good length of ribbing and keel. . Would prefer a bit more width front and back. Good hind angulation. Moved and handled well. Just did not have the presence and drive of 1st today 

Dachshund Miniature Smooth 

Junior Dog/Bitch: 1st Mr D & M Pearmain & Sherwood’s Delandmar Greta Garbo; 13-month-old bitch of good proportions. Stunning outline. Lovely feminine head, correct shape of eyes. Reachy neck, correct shoulder placing. Good length of ribbing. Good turn of stifle. Moved excellently holding a good top line. BOB & Grp 4. 2nd Miss T Cox’s Tickleteckle Kandy Floss; 13 mth old bitch, good outline, correct proportions. Good feminine head and length of neck Good length of ribbing and keel. Good hind angulation. Did not move as well as 1st.  

Post Graduate Dog/Bitch : 1st Miss E Hicks’ Net Narin Limited Edition at Phoenie; 2-year-old balanced bitch with beautiful outline. Lovely feminine head and expression. Good length of neck. Good front and nice padded feet. Good length of ribbing and keel. Moved well holding a good top line. 2nd Mr J & C Stewart & Teggart’s Charjaghan Carrot Cake; 19-mth-old feminine bitch, well balanced. Good head and expression, good length of neck. Good length of ribbing and keel. Good hind angulation. Moved well holding a good top line. Close call with 1st just lacked the enthusiasm and presence of 1st. 

Open Dog/Bitch: 1st Mrs G Taylor’s Whitewebb’s Kanga; 3 year-old-bitch. Good feminine head and expression. Good length of neck. Good length of ribbing and keel.  Would prefer more ground clearance. Good shoulders and nicely angulated rear. Moved with drive keeping a good outline. RBOB. 2nd Miss E Hicks’ Phoenie’s Moonlight Sonata; 2.5-year-old bitch, nice head, good length of neck, good front and shoulders. Good length of ribbing and keel. Good hind angulation. Moved and handled well.

Open Dog/Bitch:1st Mrs G Taylor’s Dovestream Showing Off at Whitewebbs; 21 mth-old-bitch. Good feminine  head and expression. Good length of neck. Would like a better shoulder placement. Good length of ribbing and keel. Well angulated strong hindquarters Moved with drive and purpose, which won her the class. BOB. 2nd Mrs C Hall’s Bensarka Little White Dove; 3-year-old bitch. Good feminine head and length of neck. Good shoulders, length of ribbing and keel. Good hindquarters. Could do with loosing some weight and she would come into her own. RBOB.
