Ripon & District Canine Society

Ripon & District Canine Society Open Show 2nd June 2019 

Many thanks to the society for my invitation to judge the following breeds, a lovely show set in wonderful setting with first class hospitality. 

English Springer Spaniel Puppy 

1st Smith’s MELVERLY LIL DANCER – 7 month old liver & white bitch puppy, pretty headed with correct dentition, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder & upper arm, well ribbed back, well angulated rear used to move with ease around ring. BPIB  

English Springer Spaniel Junior 

1st Calvert’s CALVDALE STOWAWAY MAGIC -  15 month old tri colour bitch, very feminine head with lovely dark eyes, correct dentition, well laid shoulder & upper arm, well ribbed back, moved well from strong muscular rear.  

English Springer Spaniel Post Graduate 

1st Calvert’s BERESFORD NIGHT SPELL -2 year old black white bitch with lovely feminine head, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder & upper arm, good top line with strong muscular rear used to advantage.  

English Springer Spaniel Open 

1st Cunliffe’s CALVADALE I SAY OF FALLENLEAF CW18 CJW18 – liver & white bitch, correct dentition, feminine head, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder & upper arm, correct top line, moved out well. BOB 

2nd Gibson’s CALVDALE RAG NYMPH – similar comments to first here, not quite as good in her front as first.  

Rhodesian Ridgeback Graduate 

1st MSINGI ALL ABOUT ME OF CYNAMI – 7 months old bitch puppy, dark features, correct dentition, good shoulder & upper arm, well toned with plenty of rear drive & angulation. BPIB  

2ND MATSUSHONA FIRE OPAL OF CYNAMI- not as strong in front assembly as the first, correct dentition, good top line, moved well.  

Rhodesian Ridgeback Open 

1ST KENQUINCE PISONIA OF CYNAMI SHCM – correct dentition, ok shoulder & upper arm, good top line, moves well from strong rear. BOB  

2ND MIRENGOS MAHDI – correct dentition, ok shoulder & upper arm, good top line, strong rear, longer in cast than first.  

Borzoi Open 

1ST QUARENTA’S LIFES FIRST LOVE AT ENOLAM – 6 year old red & white bitch, correct dentition, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, beautiful tight feet, moved well from strong muscular rear. BOB  

Basset Hound Open 

1ST ARMARDIO IM ON FIRE – red & white 11 months old bitch, correct dentition, good front & rear assembly, correct top line, moved out well enjoying herself showing her character too, beautiful feet too. BOB  

2ND BUSHOBY A NEW MOON – 2 year old male, red & white, correct dentition, good front assembly, not as strong behind as first.  

Saluki Open 

1ST CLASSICUS AZIM FOR BORDERCOT – 2 year old male, fabulous on the move, didn’t disappoint to go over on closer inspection either, correct dentition, beautiful head, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders & upper arm, correct top line, moved well from strong driving rear, shown in first class condition too.
