Judge’s Report – Mrs Maureen Taylor (Maursett)

My thanks to the exhibitors for a very nice entry of gundogs. The officers and committee run a very friendly and efficient show and I certainly enjoyed my day.

Golden Retriever - Junior (6 Entries, 1 Abs) Bolton’s Dantassie Golden Gun For Shiresmill. 16 months old dog, balanced throughout. Masculine, but not overdone, he moved well with drive as one would expect when constructed correctly and is a fine example of the breed. 2nd McDonald’s Lamancha New Adventure Just 12 months old, but again a very nice youngster and not much to choose between 1 and 2. Handsome head and expression, deep chest, level topline, moved well. 3rd Beck’s Happier De Ria Vela

Golden Retriever – Post Graduate (10 Entries, 3 Abs)

1st BOB & Gundog Group 1. Cullen’s Rigerin Barnyard Dawg at Auchinbreck). A very appealing dog with a masculine head, scissor bite and pleasing expression. He is balanced with level topline, deep chest, in good coat, has well turned stifles. He moved true fore and aft with drive due to correct angulation and was presented in good conditon. 2nd Warden’s Noblemoon Tak The High Road to Glentochty. A slightly taller dog with a deep chest straight front, level topline and moved well. 3rd Dantassie Golden Gun For Shiresmill

Golden Retriever Open (12 Entries, 3 Abs)

1st McDonald’s Lamancha Keep A Secret JW. A well muscled bitch with a pretty head and expression. in good coat. Front and rear angulation was correct and she moved well and was well presented in hard condition, close decision for BOB. 2nd Younie’s Largymore Live To Love You ShCM. Not quite the condition of 1. Scissor bite, good angulation fore and aft and moved well. 3rd Gray’s Knockothie Fairway

Flatcoated Retriever Open (2 Entries, 0 Abs)

1st & BOB Cullen’s Orkhatos Lucas At Auchinbreck ShCm. An 8 years old dog who is pleasing to look at and can still move well. He is a balanced dog with all the correct proportions, deep chest, well turned stifles and well set tail which he used to effect. 2nd Thomson’s Badcall Petronella. A bitch with a sweet head and expression, scissor bite and moved well.

Gordon Setter - Open (1 Entries, 0 Abs)

1st & BOB Tillet’s Fieldtalk’s Lady In Red. A pretty well coated 20 months old bitch, with a feminine head, scissor bite. She has a straight front and correct topline which she held on the move.

Irish Setter – Open (1 Entry 0 Abs) 1st & BOB Tillet’s Finnichie Foolhardy. Exuberant male in good coat. Masculine head, but not overdone. Dark eyes, good reach of neck, deep chest and moved with drive.

Pointer – Open (4 Entries 0 Abs) 1st & BOB Mackay’s Fluerfield Steals The Dream ShCm. A masculine balanced dog. I liked his head qualities, dark eyes deep chest, tight feet, short coupled and he moved with drive. 2nd Rennie’s Beagmhor Henrietta Vincent. Feminine pretty bitch who belies her 8 years. Scissor bite, tight feet and of a nice size she moved well. 3rd Findlay’s Chamelia Lagertha

German Wirehaired Pointer Open (4 Entries 2 Abs) 1st & BOB Dempster’s Benreeda All That Jazz Masculine dog with good head proportions and furnishings, dark eyes and harsh coat. Deep chest and moved well. 2nd Dervish-Uman’s Moorrunner Myrtle At Todlachie. 10 years old lady enjoying her day, in hard muscular condition. Very feminine and she moved with drive.

German Shorthaired Pointer Post Graduate (1 Entry 0 Abs) 1st Angus’s Barleyarch Lismore Via Calmerall. I liked his overall balance, head and expression and scissor bite. He was presented in hard condition and moved with drive.

German Shorthaired Pointer Open (1 Entry 0 Abs) 1st and BOB Lindridge’s Amidala Fast and Furious. A balanced bitch with dark eyes, scissor bite and with correct front and rear construction. She moved well with drive.

Weimaraner Open (5 Entries 0 Abs) All the exhibits in this class were in top physical condition which was pleasing to see. 1st BOB and Group 3 Bannerman’s Minama Believe in Me (AI) ShCm. Best mover in this class. Well constructed with forechest and a deep chest. Feminine, but with strength throughout, she was in great condition which meant she moved with drive due to her correct construction. 2nd Beckley’s Gunalt Interview at Northfantasma. Very much a baby, but could not get away from his overall balance and construction, he fits the standard so well. Pleased to see him go Reserve BMPIS. 3rd Bannerman’s Selhendo Special Edition

Labrador Retriever Junior (2 Entries 0 Abs) 1st Berry & Larsen’s Exelby Neath. Just over a year old, but seriously considered him for BOB. Masculine, but not overdone in any way. Presented in hard condition which meant his movement was spot on. Deep chest and good spring of ribs, short coupled, well boned with a level topline kept on the move, along with correct tail set. 2nd West’s Cairnduhie Charlie A rangier type of dog, but still a lot to like. Scissor bite, deep chest and correct front construction. He moved well.

Labrador Post Graduate (5 Entries 1 Abs) 1st BOB & Group 2 Thomson’s Windup Barberry Earl Grey At Strathhunker. A quality dog with excellent head and body, balanced and overall masculine without being coarse. Level topline kept on the move, well turned stifles. Movement was true fore and aft and he moved with drive. 2nd Nicol’s Holsky Black in Black. Sweet head and expression and, dark eyes. This exhibit was another in hard condition, as were most in this breed. Once again, correct construction meant movement was true. 3rd Glen’s Liskie Bru

Labrador Retriever – Open (8 Entries, 1 Abs) 1st Rolland’s Claychalk Costa Mila At Strathlana. Black bitch with dark eyes and a sweet head and expression. Well boned, with a deep chest and spring of rib, she again moved well with drive. 2nd Nicol’s Sarenden Shoeshone At Holsky. Not quite the bone of 1, but a pleasing bitch with a feminine head. Good reach of neck and overall balance she moved well. 3rd Thomson’s Cricklecreek Cardis At Strathhunker

Hungarian Vizsla Open (2 Entries 0 Abs) 1st & BOB McDonald’s Donuries Katooni. A close run thing between these 2 bitches 1 is just that bit more finished. Balanced and with a decent forechest she has a sweet head and expression, well put together which showed in her movement. 2nd Findlay’s Fenseges Va Va Voom. Pretty bitch, well constructed, with pleasing head and expression and moved well.

Cocker Spaniel Junior (1 Entry 0 Abs) 1st Mason’s Tvaeraa Anya. Just out of puppy, a pretty blue roan bitch, dark eyes, well turned stifles and level topline, correct tailset and carriage.

Cocker Spaniel – Post Graduate (4 Entries, 2 Abs)

1st Retson’s Wishuswell Rose Garden. A sweet bitch, pretty head, dark eyes and short coupled, deep chest in good coat and moved well. 2nd Craigen’s Lynshow Falcon Bit longer cast than 1, but a handsome dog, masculine without being coarse. Good depth of chest, correct topline and moved well.

Cocker Spaniel – Open (3 Entries, 0 Abs)

1st & BOB Craigen’s Ryanside Work of Art. Black and Tan and the best mover in the breed today. Handsome head, dark eyes, deep chest and well sprung ribs, level topline and correct tailset and kept level when on the move. 2nd Neatham’s Shoogsea Peach Striesand. At 7 years of age, this is a bitch who can still hold her own with younger exhibits. Pretty head and expression, balanced, well constructed and moved with drive. 3rd Retson’s Kirkewan Mr Grumpy.

AVNSC Gundog – Junior (1 Entries, 0 Abs)

1st Tait &Hall’s Schisholm Firebird At Brochbrit (Brittany) A pleasing head and expression, dark eyes, straight front, deep chest and good body proportions. Moved well.

AVNSC Gundog – Post Graduate (3 Entries, 2 Abs)

1st Tait &Hall’s Brochbrit Heatherlie (Brittany) Another with a pleasing head and expression, scissor bite, well muscled and who moved with drive.

AVNSC Gundog – Open (3 Entries, 2 Abs)

1st BOB & Group 4 Mackay’s Feriiia Jacomelo (Italian Spinone). A square built masculine dog, head shape and proportions were correct, balanced throughout, straight front and well constructed rear. Well boned with strong short neck and moved out well.

AV Gundog Minor Puppy (3 Entries 0 Abs) 1st Gunalt Interviews at Northfantasma. 2nd Macpherson’s Rachanmill Columbo(Flatcoated Ret) Another cracking puppy who is a great shape and moved well for one so young. 3rd Leynock Sahasrara

AV Gundog Veteran (17 Entries 3 Abs) A fabulous class of wonderful exhibits who really can still hold their own against the younger generations. 1st Minama Believe in Me (AI) ShCM, 2nd Claychalk Costa Mila At Strathlana, 3rd Orkhatos Luca At Auchinbreck.

AV Gundog – Open Bitch (13 Entries,10 Abs) 1st Selhendo First Edition at Northfantasma. Daughter of the BOB. A feminine bitch with a scissor bite, who is well muscled which showed in her positive movement. Straight front, and deep chest. 2nd Wishuswell Rose Garden
