Beagle Club

The Beagle Club 16th November 2019 Open Show

  I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge dogs at their open show. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for bringing their dogs for me to judge and also for their sportsmanship in my decisions.

Minor Puppy Dog 2

1. Simkin’s, Eardley Will Power At Simeldaka. 7mth Tri-colour. What a handsome young boy who oozes quality. A good masculine head in the making with a nice dark eye with well set leathers. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Nice level top line and well placed tail set which he carried correctly on the move. Very nicely angulated and a pleasure to watch in the ring. BP & BPIS   2. Caple’s, Moresfield Mudlark 8mth Tri-colour. He is quite the picture in profile, freestanding at such a young age. Pleasing head and well laid shoulders. Well angulated. Good level top line which he held on the move. Moved well but didn't carry his tail as well as

Junior Dog 2

1. Philpott’s, Charterwood Storm, 16mth, Tri-colour. A very well put together boy. Very pleasing masculine head with a dark eye and correct set leathers. Well angulated and a nice bend of stifle. Very good bone and moved well. Considered for higher honours . 2. Quincerhound Oreo Bark, 14mth Tri-colour. an energetic young boy who kept his handler on her toes. Nice pleasing head and good reach of neck. Well ribbed and level top line. A bit more schooling I think.

1. Simkin’s, Eardley Will Power At Simeldaka 2. Caples, Moresfield Mudlark Post Graduate Dog 4 1. Hardisty’s, Blunderhall Moondog 2yr Tri-colour. a compact, heavy set boy, masculine head but not over done, a good level top line and well angulated in the front and rear giving him sound movement and winning him the class. 2. Holland’s Eardley Walk The Talk At Tagahound, 4yr Tan and White. 0f a larger mould. A pleasing head, correct ear set. Good spring of rib and level top line. Well let down hocks. Handled well.

Limit Dog 5 ABS 2

1. Hardisty’s, Eardley Alec Tricity At Blunderhall JW. Tri-Colour A boy I have admired many times ringside. A top quality male in beautiful condition who sired the BPIS. He’s all male with a wonderful masculine head, well set leathers and dark eye, well laid back shoulders and level top line and correct tail set. He’s extremely well angulated and moved effortlessly with a demeanor of look at me. BOB and delighted to see him RBIS. 2. Hills, Luluwells Major At Donay, Tri-colour. A quality male with good head, neck and shoulders. Nicely angulated with a strong rear which he used well. He is a pleasure to go over. Well handled

Open Dog 4 ABS 1

1. Parkers, Serenaker Hot As ‘ Ell. Tri-colour. A top quality male in great condition. A lovely hound head with a great reach of neck and good strong front with well laid shoulders. Well ribbed and correct tail set. Very well angulated with a very good bend in stifle. Great mover coming and going. Very tough decision between him and the limit winner. RBD. 2. Philpott’s Charterwood Harvest, Tri-colour. A pleasing head with well defined stop, good level top line and well ribbed. Short coupled. Moved well coming and going. 

Veteran Dog 2 ABS 1

1. Mcbain’s, Bondlea Layman 8yrs young. Tri-Colour. I’ve judged this boy before and everything I admired before still stands. A masculine head with a good reach of neck, leading into a nice level topline, a good deep forechest, well ribbed and nice tail set. Great mover.

Vintage dog 2

1. Ayres-Cousins, Goldbelles Snowy At Viracocha, 11yrs young, Open Tri-colour, Pleasing head with soft expression, good neck and shoulder and nice level top line. Moved soundly. 2. Webster’s Dialynne Numero Uno Sh.CM 10yrs young, Tri-Colour, A masculine head with a lovely expression, nice dark eye. Good level topline and nicely angulated. Well let down hocks.

Special Beginners Dog 1

1. Martin’s Charterwood Character. Tri-colour. A pleasing head with good neck and shoulders. Level top line and moved soundly but a bit long in leg. Handled well by his young charge.

Special Open Working Dog

1. Mcbain’s Bondlea Layman 2. Ardens, Madika Hot Spot AW(B) Open Tri- Colour. Pleasing head with good reach of neck into level top line and well set stern. Nicely ribbed and good bend of stifile
