Otley Canine Society - 30th November 2019

I would like to thank Otley Canine Society for the opportunity to judge at their open show, it was an extremely well run show with such a welcoming committee. Secondly and by no means least I thank the exhibitors as without you there would be no show. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the entry and equally their presentation on the day.

P (2:0)

1st. Jones’ Shalfleet Newsflash, Light fawn dog, 9mths of age, strong male head, good underjaw, dark pigmentation, ear set, length of neck into good shoulders, good infill, straight upfront with adequate spring of pastern. Good tuck up, correct topline, long in loin, nice rear angulations. Though still looking loose infront due to his young age he moved well once settled to go BPiB.

2nd. Head’s Demerlay Belle of the Ball,6mth light fawn bitch, pretty feminine expression, good length of neck, good topline and moved well for handler and im sure she has a promising future ahead. On the day just preferred the front and rear angulations on the 1st place dog.

1st. Head’s Demerlay Magical Mitzi, 17mth Blue fawn bitch showing lots of absolute quality again from this kennel. Pretty femine expression, good straight front legs, super tuck up, good topline and tailset. Slightly over angulated at the rear for my eyes and tending to pick up in front on the move around this ring.

1st Smith’s Rock N Roll Wizard Da Rosiera Brava at Brynnsimeon (Imp Port), dark brindle male 17mths of age.Strong male head, dark pigmentation, At the top size so wouldn’t want to see these increase further with maturity. Nice length of neck, good spring of pastern and feet. Fast moving dog and proved difficult for the handler on the day but overall very pleasing young dog.

1st. Paipala’s Rogansrock Lucky Charm, 3yr 4mth Fawn brindle bitch, excellent for size, Feninine and petite throughout, good length of neck, good return of upper arm, good spring of pastern, excellent tuck up and topline into good rear angulation which she used to her advantage on the move. One that I could easily take home.

1st. Paipala’s Wakebarrow Weeping Willow cum Rogansrock, 6Yr light brindle parti bitch, perfect for size. Beautiful alert expression from a small perfectly formed head, true rose ear, good length of neck into a well laid should and return of upper arm. Correct tuck up, rise over loin going onto an almost perfect rear bend of stifle and low set hocks, perfect feet. No exaggerations here on this bitch and she deserved to go all the way today and take top honours. A girl to be proud off. BoB

2nd. Smith’s Almawhip to be a Lover at Brynnsimeon ShCM Imp Ita), 4yr old attractive dog who was unfortunately quite unsettled on the table and move today. Very attractive dog, good strong male head, good length of neck and all round pleasing to go over. Certainly my cup of tea and one that I have admired from ring side in the past but unsettled today and this affected his performance and presentation.
