OTLEY CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW 30/11/2019

TERRIER GROUP : Not a large group but of excellent quality. I would have been more than happy to give group 1 to any of these 4 today.1 Gee’s Ch. Watercroft Gold Dust (Norfolk) feminine b of correct size, compact in body, well sprung rib & level topline, well shaped head with correct bite, strong in neck & well laid back shoulders, correctly set tail & carriage, good feet, correct coat texture and in excellent condition, shown & presented to perfection, all comes together on the move & she enjoys it. Delighted to hear she later took B.I.S. well done ; 2 Bell’s Zippor Sleepy Sapphireson At Letara (Sealyham), almost 12 months of age but quite mature, correctly set eye & ears on a well shaped head & excellent dentition, strong neck & mature in body, correct feet & tail set which he also carries correctly, in excellent coat & hard muscular condition, a handful for his owner but another who enjoys the show ring ; 3 Mcnally’s Coneksheved Jingle Bells (Bedlington), just a baby but shows great potential, particularly liked her movement for one so young, narrow in skull with long tapering jaw, good dentition, profuse top knot & well shaped bright eye, well shaped & set ears, body raw & developing as it should be, correct coat & well presented, tail tapering & low set, correctly carried on move, presents a nice picture on the move ; 4 Smith’s Javidel Walk In The Park (Norwich), young male who is very sound in conformation, correct in head, eye & ear, well sprung in rib & strong loin with excellent top line, correct feet & tail, moves very soundly fore & aft, has excellent texture of coat & in hard condition.

Judd's Chiswellstaff Jean Genie, feminine & of good size, pleasing in profile & moved soundly fore & aft, broad in skull & distinct in stop, strong in front with legs straight, well laid shoulders, in excellent body condition as is her muscle tone & gleaming close coat, correct feet.

W Stolen M ; 2 Atkinson’s Moortop Sweet Design, younger than 1 but less mature at this stage, well shaped head with well set ears, good eye & expression, raw in body, correct front & good top line, in excellent coat & condition, moved soundly, another nice youngster. Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Ch. W Gold D ; 2 Smith’s Javidel Despicable May, sound mover in excellent condition, in good coat of correct texture, well bodied with good top line, sound quarters & correct feet, well shaped & set tail carried correctly on move ; 3 Atkinson’s Morton Mymark Again.

Manchester T : Open (3) : 1 & B.O.B. Almond’s Eaglespur Classic Charmer, mature male who is elegant & sound, long flat skull with good jaw, tapering neck of fair length, narrow front, ribs well sprung, well set rear with well bent stifle, correct feet, tail well set & carried, in excellent coat and condition, thought 2 would be my winner but not as settled as 1 on the move, I understand 2 is the daughter of 1 ; 2 Almond’s Digelsa Diamond Diva, liked the shape in profile, lovely head & neck, good body for young age, correct tail & feet, needs more confidence on move ; 3 Goodman’s Joemario Moonlit Shadow.

HOUND GROUP : 1Mcpherson & Pattersons’s Brumbeqrhill Mr Wilks JW (W/H Dachshund) have done this young man well before & gets better with age, my notes say like everything about him, superb head shape with strong jaw, correct eye & ear sets, strong neck, has an excellent front & correct feet, in first class body condition, sound well laid quarters & correct tail, in excellent coat & hard condition, presents perfect balanced conformation & moves with reach & powerful drive, presented to perfection. Delighted he later took R.B.I.S. Well done ; 2 Winup & Paipala’s Wakebarrow Weeping Willow Cum Rogansbrock (Whippet) 5 yr old feminine b of nice proportions, well shaped head & correct eye with well set ears, scores in neck, depth of chest & firm loin with correct arch, well shaped feet, pleasing in shoulder & corresponds well in rear with well set & carried tail, moved steady fore & aft ; 3 Robinson’s Bushoby The Architect (Basset) 4 yr old male, pleasing head shape with low set ears of good length, strong jaw, well arched neck of fair length, in good body with strong top line, large well knuckled feet, well laid shoulders, long tail well set & carried, in good coat & had effortless movement.

Hound Group Puppy : 1 Mcpherson & Patterson’s Brumberhill Biscotti (W/H Dachshund), ultra feminine b of pleasing balance in profile, took a little while to settle on move but once she did showed herself to be well constructed from her correct shaped head to her sound driving quarters, good top line well held, correct feet & tail, not best of coats today but enough to see is correct, promising prospect ; 2 Wood’s Marada The Cheviot (Basset), male of nice size & substance, has excellent head proportions, correct in eye & low set ears of good length, strong neck & well developed in body for age, moved soundly when settled into his stride, correct shaped feet & well set tail, in excellent coat & condition, just needs more time to balance himself out but correct for this age & development ; 3 Jones’s Shalfleet News Flash (Whippet), pleasing in head shape this young male has a good neck, depth of chest & firm in loin, well set rear with strong hocks, well set tail carried correctly, in excellent coat & condition, at this stage a little loose in front but moved well behind.

Grad (6-3abs) : 1 Dawson’s Metel Avgusta Ala Azul At Stubbylee (Borzoi), just out of puppy & one I have admired & done well before this feminine b enjoys herself & moves with ease & purpose, desirable head shape with correct eye & expression, well set ears, strong neck leading to well laid shoulders & upper arm,has depth of chest on a body still developing for her young age, slight arch over her loin, excellent strong quarters with well set hocks, correct feet, excellent length of tail correctly set & carried, not a heavy coat but is of correct practical texture, most promising youngster ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown You're The One JW (Min S/H Dachshund, young b with good head & neck, has excellent shoulder set, in excellent body with strong loin, powerful driving action from her quarters, correct in feet & tail, moved soundly with confidence, super coat & hard condition ; 3 Kay’s Foxearth Run For Fun To Kaytian (Min W/H Dachshund). Well done ; 2 Winup & Paipala’s Wakebarrow Weeping Willow Cum Rogansbrock (Whippet) 5 yr old feminine b of nice proportions, well shaped head & correct eye with well set ears, scores in neck, depth of chest & firm loin with correct arch, well shaped feet, pleasing in shoulder & corresponds well in rear with well set & carried tail, moved steady fore & aft ; 3 Robinson’s Bushoby The Architect (Basset) 4 yr old male, pleasing head shape with low set ears of good length, strong jaw, well arched neck of fair length, in good body with strong top line, large well knuckled feet, well laid shoulders, long tail well set & carried, in good coat & had effortless movement.

Hound Group Puppy : 1 Mcpherson & Patterson’s Brumberhill Biscotti (W/H Dachshund), ultra feminine b of pleasing balance in profile, took a little while to settle on move but once she did showed herself to be well constructed from her correct shaped head to her sound driving quarters, good top line well held, correct feet & tail, not best of coats today but enough to see is correct, promising prospect ; 2 Wood’s Marada The Cheviot (Basset), male of nice size & substance, has excellent head proportions, correct in eye & low set ears of good length, strong neck & well developed in body for age, moved soundly when settled into his stride, correct shaped feet & well set tail, in excellent coat & condition, just needs more time to balance himself out but correct for this age & development ; 3 Jones’s Shalfleet News Flash (Whippet), pleasing in head shape this young male has a good neck, depth of chest & firm in loin, well set rear with strong hocks, well set tail carried correctly, in excellent coat & condition, at this stage a little loose in front but moved well behind.
