Durham County Canine Association Premier Open Show 14/7/19

I would like to extend my grateful thanks to The Officers & Committee for inviting me to judge The Hound Group at this excellent show. One of the best venue I have judged at with lovely spacious rings and perfectly presented and organised show. Also thank you to me efficient & thorough steward.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Open (3-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. T Cream Treat.

Min S/H Dachshund : Puppy (4) : 1 & B. P. Upton’s Denval Tantalize, of correct size & balance, pleasing in head shape, good eye & ear sets, clean outline with good top line, correct rib & firm in loin, very well settled on move for one so young, well set tail & has correct coat : 2 Cumberland,s Mumysami Here We Go Again, male of correct size, balanced in outline & pleasing in head shape, good front & corresponding sound quarters, good feet, lost out to one on tail carriage today ; 3 Abdy’s Enzopearl Pure Velvet.

Sp. Yearling (7) : 1 Mason’s Teckeltown You're The One, feminine b of good size & proportions, strong in jaw & ok in head, good body & well held top line, correct in coat & in hard muscular condition, tail well set & carried, moved with ease fore & aft ; 2 Fawcett’s Broomside Firecracker Jack, male that appealed for his size & balanced outline on stack, in good body & gleaming dense coat, good top line but could not match one on move in profile today ; 3 Mason’s Teckeltown Daisys Magic.

P. Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Open (5-2abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

S/H/ Dachshund : Open (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Rhodesian Ridgeback : P. Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Open (3-2abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Saluki : P. Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

A.V. N.S.C. Hound : Puppy (1) : 1 & B.N.S.C. A The Bitchisback.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 Pocklington-Hall’s Merlin Do Casal Dos Choupos (Basset Fauve De Bretagne), 2 yr old male, very good shape of head & lovely on stack, unfortunately lacking confidence when on the table, good front proportions, in excellent body & strong quarters, super double coat of correct texture, well set tail, moved soundly once settled.

A.V. Hound Puppy (6-4abs) : 1 McKay’s Danluke Little Red Dress (Whippet), very raw feminine young b, super head with strong jaw, excellent neck & super front, body developing well, good depth of chest & strong arch over loin, clean under line, powerful quarters with strong hocks, tail correctly set & carried, good feet, in lovely coat, moved soundly fore & aft just needs more confidence to get into her stride ; 2 M Here We Go Again.

Junior (10-4abs) : 1 Tolberg La Di Da ; 2 A Rose.

P. Grad (12-7abs) : 1 L Mysterious T ; 2 Drady’s Indiko Destined To Be Cream, most lovely head & has a strong jaw, good body shape & is balanced in profile, good sound mover, in excellent coat & hard muscular condition, correct feet & her tail is well set ; 3 M Fire Opal Of C.

Veteran (10-3abs) : A quality class. 1 Johnston’s Danluke Dicky Bird (Whippet) 8 yr old b, perhaps a touch over weight but sound on the move fore & aft, pleasing in head & expression, depth of chest & has a good shoulder, neat feet & in good coat & hard condition, dense glossy coat, well set & carried tail. Pleased to see her later take R.B. Veteran in show in tough competition, well done ; 2 Constantine’s Gentiehun Adelaide Of Kelaginy SHCM (Deerhound), feminine & most lovely mover, good head shape & strong in jaw, still has a good jacket & moving soundly with good reach in front, tapering well set tail ; 3 Drady’s Jumandas Silver Sparkle At Indiko SHCM.

Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Open (3-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

S/H/ Dachshund : Open (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Rhodesian Ridgeback : P. Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Saluki : P. Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Open (3-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

S/H/ Dachshund : Open (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Rhodesian Ridgeback : P. Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Open (3-2abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Saluki : P. Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

A.V. N.S.C. Hound : Puppy (1) : 1 & B.N.S.C. A The Bitchisback.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 Pocklington-Hall’s Merlin Do Casal Dos Choupos (Basset Fauve De Bretagne), 2 yr old male, very good shape of head & lovely on stack, unfortunately lacking confidence when on the table, good front proportions, in excellent body & strong quarters, super double coat of correct texture, well set tail, moved soundly once settled.

Hound Puppy (6-4abs) : 1 McKay’s Danluke Little Red Dress (Whippet), very raw feminine young b, super head with strong jaw, excellent neck & super front, body developing well, good depth of chest & strong arch over loin, clean under line, powerful quarters with strong hocks, tail correctly set & carried, good feet, in lovely coat, moved soundly fore & aft just needs more confidence to get into her stride ; 2 M Here We Go Again.

Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Open (3-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

S/H/ Dachshund : Open (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Rhodesian Ridgeback : P. Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Saluki : P. Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

I would like to extend my grateful thanks to The Officers & Committee for inviting me to judge The Hound Group at this excellent show. One of the best venue I have judged at with lovely spacious rings and perfectly presented and organised show. Also thank you to me efficient & thorough steward.

Hound Group : A strong group and I would have been happy to give the 1st place to any of my 8 in my short list today. 1 Glaholm’s Gazenorth Gan Canny (Whippet), fully mature b, lovely outline on stack and moves with ease & grace, pleasing in head balance, good eye & expression, well set ears, elegant arch of neck, well set shoulder & upper arm, correct depth of chest & deep in brisket, well tucked up & arch over her firm loin, well set hindquarters & good bend of stifle, neat feet & her tail is correctly set & carried ; 2 Bell’s Tolberg Cream Treat JW SHCM (Min L/H Dachshund) this young b is of lovely feminine size, well shaped head with good eye & ear set, good strong jaw, in excellent body and has a lovely outline, her top line is excellent with slight arch of loin, has a very good front which is evident on the move, strong rear well muscled & her tail is carried correctly at all times, scores highly on her sound movement. ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Nightcap (Beagle), young b who excels for breed type, well shaped in head with defined stop, strong in jaw, well set ears & her expression is mild & appealing, correct length of neck, shoulders well laid back, ribs well sprung & ribs carried well back, firm in hock & has lovely firm feet, carried her tail well, quality bitch who moved soundly even though seemed distracted at times, typical of her breed ; 4 Noble & Gardner’s Aqua’s The Bitchisback (Afghan), pale gold & only a baby but her quality shone through even at this raw age, well balanced in skull & fore face, strong jaw with good dentition, correct corresponding length of shoulder & upper arm, body developing well for her young age, prominent hip bones, well set quarters, ring tail correctly set & carried, lovely silky coat which is well presented, has the desired reach in front & drive from the rear.

Hound Group Puppy : All 4 real quality bitches. 1 A The Bitchisback ; 2 Hardcastle’s Dotalot Miss Honey (Whippet) very raw but oozing in quality, excellent head with correct eye & ear sets, elegant neck leading to well laid back shoulders, equal in length of shoulder & upper arm with elbows under her withers, body developing well, with correct rib & arch of loin, her hindquarters are sound & hocks are well let down, correct feet & her tail is well set on & carried, lovely short & dense coat, particularly liked her size & sound easy movement ; 3 Foster & Jones’s Stormpasture Perchance (Beagle) very raw but shows great potential, everything in the right place for one so young, most lovely head & expression, super front & good rib & loin, chest well down & ribs well sprung, lovely level top line excellent feet, has an excellent dense coat which was gleaming, moved soundly with reach & drive, correct tail set & carriage, quality youngster ; 4 Eliot’s Orange Moon Mysterious Talisman (Basenji) a bit of a handful for her owner & not always keeping her feet on the ground. Saying that it is good that puppies be allowed to relax & enjoy the experience at this stage, flat skull with slight stop, good jaw, good length to her neck, well bodied for young age, shoulders well laid back & has flexible pasterns of good length, tail well set & tightly curled, good feet, short & sleek coat which is well presented, when she did settle moved out well.

Basenji : Post G (4-2abs) : 1, O Moon Mysterious T ; 2 Casentieri’s Lambada Mysterious Talisman, pleasing male who unfortunately was a little erratic on the stack today, has a good head & strong jaw, well set almond shaped eye and correct ear setting, good length of neck & pleasing in front, ribs well sprung & has a level back, good feet & tail set, seemed happier moving than standing today.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Casentieri’s Adebank’s King Kole, young male with good head & strong in jaw, good length of neck, shoulders well laid back with elbows well tucked in to his brisket, flexible pasterns, level back & has strong muscular hocks, tail well set & curled, compact feet, good coat & well presented, moved with ease & purpose.

Borzoi : Post Grad (1) : 1 Dover’s Russkiy Asart Liberty The Wind Of Passion At Keanver, not yet 2 yr old b with lovely head proportions & good neck, has depth of chest & her ribs are narrow with abdomen well tucked up, long & muscular thighs, good length of tail which is low set & correctly carried, unfortunately was not happy being handled today.

Open (3-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Rogerson’s Nibrass Emerald Queen, mature b of balanced proportions, lovely long skull & balanced strong jaw, well set ears, clean & straight in foreleg, good rib & depth of her brisket, thighs long & well developed, correct tail length & carriage, in good coat of correct texture, moved soundly ; 2 Dover’s Harropine Goldeneye At Keanver, mature male of good proportions in head & body, long well muscled neck, depth of chest & loin is broad, well angulated stifle, good tail carriage & length, prefer reach in front of 1 on the move.

Min L/H Dachshund : Sp. Yearling (1) : 1 Bell’s Tolberg La Di Da, just out of puppy was very impressed with how mature and together this young b was both on stack & moving, certainly one we will hear of in future, very appealing in head with strong jaw, has an excellent shoulder set & upper arm, in good body with super top line, strong quarters which she uses well on move, free flowing action, in super coat and hard condition.

P.Grad (1) : 1 Mason’s Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown, typical in expression on a pleasing head, good neck & body, well balanced & moving well, unfortunately today not settled while being stacked, in good coat, tail well set & carried.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. T Cream Treat.

Min S/H Dachshund : Puppy (4) : 1 & B. P. Upton’s Denval Tantalize, of correct size & balance, pleasing in head shape, good eye & ear sets, clean outline with good top line, correct rib & firm in loin, very well settled on move for one so young, well set tail & has correct coat : 2 Cumberland,s Mumysami Here We Go Again, male of correct size, balanced in outline & pleasing in head shape, good front & corresponding sound quarters, good feet, lost out to one on tail carriage today ; 3 Abdy’s Enzopearl Pure Velvet.

Sp. Yearling (7) : 1 Mason’s Teckeltown You're The One, feminine b of good size & proportions, strong in jaw & ok in head, good body & well held top line, correct in coat & in hard muscular condition, tail well set & carried, moved with ease fore & aft ; 2 Fawcett’s Broomside Firecracker Jack, male that appealed for his size & balanced outline on stack, in good body & gleaming dense coat, good top line but could not match one on move in profile today ; 3 Mason’s Teckeltown Daisys Magic.

P. Grad (7-1abs) : 1 Bell’s Bronia Conchita At Tolberg, thought would be my winner today but feeling the heat & kept dropping her rear on stack, lovely conical shaped head, well set ears, neck muscular & leading to correct shoulder & upper arm, in excellent body, clean lines, tail well set & carried, particularly good feet ; 2 Mason’s Teckeltown Something Magic JW, lovely almond eye on a pleasing head, well set ears, good front & rear, body hard & firm in top line with good arch of loin, tail carried correctly, 1 covering more ground today but still moved soundly ; 3 Fawcett’s Springfern Cascade.

Open (5-2abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Cumberland,s Mumysami Clicalicious For Yorami, confident male who stood to perfection on stack, lovely head shape & strong in jaw with good dentition, pleasing body proportions with a good front, nice underline also & strong driving rear, tail well set on & carried when moving, gleaming dense coat, excellent stride with plenty front reach ; 2 Fieke’s Lustrum Cushendall, mature male of correct size & shape, liked his head, neck & shoulder set, good body & in hard condition, unsettled on stack today, good feet & tail is well set, dense coat ; 3 Upton’s Lustrum Buttons N Bows at Denval.

Min W/H Dachshund : P.Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Stephenson & Sexton’s Molloney Winnie Tergames At Wistex, very nice head with correct eye & ear set, in super body with level top line, would like little more arch of loin, good feet, moved soundly fore & aft, lacking coat today but enough evidence of a double coat.

L/H Dachshund : P. Grad (2) : 1 Forte’s Whartona Dominico , 8 yr old male, well shaped head with good jaw, heavy in body & could loose a pound or two to advantage, in profuse coat of good texture, nice long shoulder blades, firm top line, well set rear, a little lethargic on the move in hot conditions ; 2 Naik’s Humberdax Turbulant Sky balanced but would like more of him all through, pleasing head but unfortunately not happy to be handled so difficult to assess, once settled moved soundly fore & aft, in good coat. Needs a lot more training.

Open (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Forte’s Whartona Fergustus, same breeding as previous class winner from a repeat mating, similar notes apply but was more energetic on move, could also loose a little weight to his advantage, pleasing in head, good front, firm top line & in profuse coat, tail well set & carried ; 2 H Turbulant S.

S/H/ Dachshund : Open (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Maskell’s Clentry Monster Mash At Brownbank, mature male, very sound construction, conical shaped head with excellent jaw, strong neck & good front, in excellent body condition, tail well set & has the desired feet, lovely dense coat, presented & handled very well by his young handler.

Deerhound : P. Grad (5-2abs) : 1 Constantine’s Kaleginy Steelbrig, 2 yr old b, lovely tapering shaped head, good jaw, good reach neck, lovely straight forelegs, flat sided body with depth of rib, well arched loin, quarters broad with strength, tail tapering & of good length , moved soundly with ease ; 2 Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade, similar in head to 1 but prefer body shape & length of 1, good depth of chest, correct well knuckled feet, good length of tapering tail well carried, in excellent hard condition as was her kennel mate ; 3 Coyle’s Seaton Valley Naylor.

Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Constantine’s Kaleginy Antheia, feminine & of lovely balance, very nice head, good length of neck, super body condition, particularly liked her movement but thought she flagged a little later on in the group due to the heat ; 2 S Valley N.

Irish Wolfhound : P. Grad (2) : 1 & B.O.B. Taylor’s Amarillo Rose, just over a year this feminine b is of good substance with enough bone, balanced skull & fore face, clean neck, depth of chest & strong loin, correct feet, coat just coming in but enough to feel the correct texture, sound quarters, tapering tail well set & of good length, moved out well fore & aft ; 2 Ilja Di Castello Berge Of Draymorr, 3 yr old upstanding male, strong in skull & balanced in strong jaw, would like a touch more length of rib to make him more balanced in profile, he is a very large male and is certainly impressive, good harsh coat with undercoat, correct feet & good length of tail.

Rhodesian Ridgeback : P. Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Hall’s Msingi All About Me Of Cynami, still a puppy this b shows promise, she is feminine but plenty of strength, correct bone & presents a pleasing outline, strong head with good eye & expression, body developing well, correct feet, moving with a nice easy flowing stride, tail well set on & carried when moving, in excellent coat & muscular condition ; 2 Hall’s Matsushona Fire Opal of Cynami, all male with lovely strong head & jaw, good neck but prefer front & balanced profile of 1, correct depth of chest & firm in loin, moved steady, correct tail & feet, super coat & hard muscular condition.

Open (3-2abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Hall’s Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami SHCM, 4 yr old b, lovely balance from head to rear, well set shoulders & good front, would like a little less weigh on her body, strong rear which she uses well, moved soundly but think i little less weight would allow her to cover more ground, correct tail set, in hard muscular condition.

Saluki : P. Grad (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Bloomfield’s Glenoak Laquan, 2 yr old male who I last judged as a raw puppy & pleased to see he has gained a lot of confidence, balanced in skull & fore face with good dentition, good neck & top line, depth of chest with clean under line, moving out well with free stride & confidence, nice coat & correct feathering, tail well set & carried, good feet.

Open (1) : Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse At Daandazi JW SHCM, also judged before & have never seen her look better, has matured into a lovely balanced feminine bitch, in good hard condition & presented we’ll, very disappointed that she was reluctant to move today, she started out well but typical stubborn hound did not want to perform today in the heat.

A.V. N.S.C. Hound : Puppy (1) : 1 & B.N.S.C. A The Bitchisback.

Open (2-1abs) : 1 Pocklington-Hall’s Merlin Do Casal Dos Choupos (Basset Fauve De Bretagne), 2 yr old male, very good shape of head & lovely on stack, unfortunately lacking confidence when on the table, good front proportions, in excellent body & strong quarters, super double coat of correct texture, well set tail, moved soundly once settled.

A.V. Hound Puppy (6-4abs) : 1 McKay’s Danluke Little Red Dress (Whippet), very raw feminine young b, super head with strong jaw, excellent neck & super front, body developing well, good depth of chest & strong arch over loin, clean under line, powerful quarters with strong hocks, tail correctly set & carried, good feet, in lovely coat, moved soundly fore & aft just needs more confidence to get into her stride ; 2 M Here We Go Again.

Junior (10-4abs) : 1 Tolberg La Di Da ; 2 A Rose.

P. Grad (12-7abs) : 1 L Mysterious T ; 2 Drady’s Indiko Destined To Be Cream, most lovely head & has a strong jaw, good body shape & is balanced in profile, good sound mover, in excellent coat & hard muscular condition, correct feet & her tail is well set ; 3 M Fire Opal Of C.

Open (5-1abs) : 1 Tolberg Cream T ; 2 M Clicalicious for Y ; 3 Finch’s Jothryn Heaven Sent To Zenobia (Whippet)

Veteran (10-3abs) : A quality class. 1 Johnston’s Danluke Dicky Bird (Whippet) 8 yr old b, perhaps a touch over weight but sound on the move fore & aft, pleasing in head & expression, depth of chest & has a good shoulder, neat feet & in good coat & hard condition, dense glossy coat, well set & carried tail. Pleased to see her later take R.B. Veteran in show in tough competition, well done ; 2 Constantine’s Gentiehun Adelaide Of Kelaginy SHCM (Deerhound), feminine & most lovely mover, good head shape & strong in jaw, still has a good jacket & moving soundly with good reach in front, tapering well set tail ; 3 Drady’s Jumandas Silver Sparkle At Indiko SHCM.
