WEST OF ENGLAND CHOW CHOW CLUB

My thanks to the Officers & Committee for inviting me to judge their Open Show. Holding it in conjunction with Bath Championship Show, does help the Exhibitors as it is only one day (albeit a very long day!) and when you have a small Committee then there are less jobs to go around. Thank you to all exhibitors that did stay, and for my stewards for keeping the ring flowing. Think in typical Chow fashion, some decided they had done their bit for the day and had enough!

Minor Puppy Dog (3,1)

1ST Godbers LECHAN RODRIK – 6 mth old red male, lovely shape & size for age, pleasing head, good dark oval eye, nice & clean, good ear set, on flat skull, strong neck, good front & rear angles, broad chest, with well sprung ribs, good feet, moved well. Best Puppy Dog

2nd Greens JAMARHYS INDIANNA – 8 mth old black male, longer in body than 1, but bigger dog all over, pleasing head, with clean eye, good ear set, strong neck, needs to tighten up in front, well sprung ribs, good topline & tailset, moved ok when settled.

1st Lovells DRAGONSWAY BOGAN AT PAMIOR – 15 mth old red male, nice shape & balance, good size, pleasing head proportions, nice ear set, good eye shape and colour, good muzzle, nice front angulation, would like a touch more width, good ribbing & loin, nice rear, moved ok when settled.

2nd Cummings FULANG’S FIRST IMPRESSIONS – 17 mth old bigger dog but balanced, pleasing head, flat skull, nice eye shape and colour, nice width on front, good angles front & rear, nice topline & tailset, ok on the move.

3rd Phillips FULANG’S FANTOM OF THE OPERA -

Special Junior AOC than Red Dog (4,2)

1st Smiths DELI TIGER SAPLING TO HELYENHU (IMP) – 17 mth old black dog, nice overall balance, pleasing head with good proportions, flat skull, clean eye of correct shape & colour, strong muzzle, nice width of front, good bone for size, compact body, good topline & tailset, nice rear, moved well when settled.

2nd Greens JAMARHYS INDIANNA – Repeat

Graduate Dog (2,0)

1st Ashmores MOYWAN HAMAL – 2 ½ yr old red male, nice size dog, pleasing head, clean eye of good shape & colour. Flat Skull with good ear set, ear a touch big, good muzzle, front could be a bit tidier, pleasing ribbing and good loin, short back, nice rear, tail could balance more, moved ok.

2nd Lovells DRAGONSWAY BOGAN AT PAMIOR – Repeat

 Post Graduate Dog (2,1)

1st Lindsay JDLINDCHOW BAO PENG – 3 yr old red male, nice size & bone, touch longer in body, and heavier in head, but with a clear eye, ears a touch large, but good width of muzzle, nice front, but can a bit lazy with it, ok on rear, nice ribbing, good tailset and tail which balanced, would like a but more oomph on the move, think he had decided he had done his bit!

1st Godber’s JENRENE’S MIGHTY ZACK AT LECHAN –3 yr old black, moderate size but well balance, lovely head with small ears, clean eye, strong muzzle, good bite & pigment, being picky could have a touch more neck, but lovely front & rear angles, nice ribbing & loin, good topline & tailset , parallel front & rear, really pleased with his movement, no hesitation in awarding him Best Dog, BIS and Best AOC in show.

2nd Greens JAMARHYS DRAIG GOCH – 5 yr old red, another nice size & balance, pleasing head & tiny eyes! Good skull, muzzle could be squarer for preference, nice front & rear, good topline & tailset, touch close on rear movement, pleasing on profile.

3rd Phillips FULANG’S RED HOT SUPER BOB

1st Cummins CH DRAGONSWAY TOM THUMB JW ShCM – 4 yr oldmale, lovely dog and a worthy Champion, nice size & balance, lovely head piece, with correct skull, small ear, clean eye and strong muzzle, nice front & rear angles, nice width on front, good topline & tailset, pleasing on the move. Reserve Best Dog

1st Godber’s JENRENE’S MIGHTY ZACK AT LECHAN – Repeat

1st Lovells JAMARMYYS FLOAT LIKE A KIMAMA AT PIMLOR – 10 yr old black, nice size & balance, pleasing head proportions, although bordering on being a touch heavy, good ears, strong muzzle, nice front & rear, good topline & tailset, touch longer in body, would like a more parallel movement, but nice on profile. Best Veteran in Show.

1st Fishers POPPYKINS RUSSIA WITH LOVE – 8 mth old red baby, nice size & bone with good balance, clean eye, good skull, and small ears, strong muzzle, nice front & rear, good topline & tailset, moved well, just a touch close on rear, just needs to grow on. BPIS

1st Fishers POPPYKINS RUSSIA WITH LOVE – Repeat

2nd Greens JAMARHYS ISEULY – 9 mth old red, nice size & balance, pleasing head & eye, good ear, nice front, good body, good rear, nice tailset, nice profile movement, touch close on rear, and starting to lose coat now.

3rd Sadlers RUISHI THE ORACLE –

Graduate Bitch (2,1)

1st Martins JD LINDCHOW FUYUAN AT FOILLAN – 18 mth old black, pleasing shape & balance, nice head with clean eye, small ear, good skull, strong neck going into a good front, lovely feet, good body & loin, nice rear, moved nicely.

Post Graduate Bitch (2,1)

1st Finlays FINCHOW FREYA – nearly 3 yr old red, nice size & bone, good head, nice ears which she didn’t want to use! Strong muzzle, nice front, good ribbing & loin, nice rear, moved ok, needs a bit more oomph!

Limit Bitch (4,2)

1st Kings SHULIAN SHIMMERING STAR AT KWEICHOW JW – 20 mth old, beautiful bitch that I have judged before, and didn’t disappoint this time, feminine but still has the bone, size and build desired for the breed. Lovely head with clean eye, good skull, small ears, and broad muzzle, lovely angles front and rear, good ribbing & loin, good topline and tailset, moved well with typical gait, pleased to award her Best Bitch, just lost out on BIS as the dog was in full coat and this lady not quite there.

2nd Martins FOILLAN FU NI ShCM - 5 yr old bitch, another nice bitch, good size & bone, pleasing head with good eye, broad muzzle & small ear, nice front angles, touch straight on rear, good topline & tailset, would like more parallel movement, nice on profile. Reserve Best Bitch.

Special Open AOC than Red Bitch (1,0)

1st Godbers LECHAN STARLIGHT – 5 yr old fawn, nice size & balance, good bone, nice eye shape, good broad muzzle, good neck, touch wide on front, which followed through, good ribbing, nice topline & tailset, touch straighter on rear, ok on the move.
