Portsmouth & Southsea Kennel Association

Critique for Portsmouth and Southsea Kennel Association Open Show on 10th February 2019

Thank you to the committee for the opportunity and to the exhibitors for entering their dogs. This was a very late stand in appointment - I wish the original judge well.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Classes

Puppy (1)

1 Yeates’ Merryanna Easter Buddy. Blenheim 11 months old dog. Stood alone but that did not put him off, I like this young man a lot, beautiful well-constructed puppy, well broken coat with rich chestnut markings, lovely soft breed standard expression, yet masculine with large dark round eyes which are nice filled, under short body with well sprung ribs, level top line, good angulation front and rear making him move out well. BP and later Puppy Toy Group 1.

Open (2,5)

1 Case’s Cobbets Catatonia at Ginajay. Blenheim bitch 3 years old with a well broken coat with rich chestnut markings. Nicely built cobby shape which is well balanced, beautiful movement which leads to lovely level top line, moderately long neck fitting well into angulated shoulders, very pretty head with large attractive dark round cushioned eyes which made her lovely gentle expression, lovely silky coat with rich dark tan in good condition. BOB and later Toy Group 4.

2 Cragg’s Loranka’s High Class Lady with Aureus. 5 years old Blenheim bitch. Nicely built compact shape. Attractive well broken coat with rich chestnut markings, correct scissor bite, lovely slightly arched neck, held her top line standing and, on the move, moved out well on the day. Typical cavalier temperament.
