Basset Fauve de Bretagne

PG (2, 1 abs) 1, Mochras Ho Ho Ho, very appealing 17 month old with lots to like, pleasing head and expression, strong teeth and jaw, well balanced and he moved well with plenty of freedom when he consented to behave, good for coat, still looks immature and a bit soft but deserved his BOB today.

O (2,1) 1, Mochras Mahlinda IrJunCh, 3yo, overall make and shape is good with a typy feminine head and strong teeth, sound out and back. Carrying a bit of extra condition and preferred topline and extension of the junior. RBOB.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand)

O (3, 2abs) 1, Debucher Zara at Janimist, gorgeous head and expression on this mature bitch, dark eye and well set ears, very good front assembly,  lovely harsh coat, well presented, moved quite well though not wanting to co-operate. Would just prefer a touch more leg. BOB.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit)

PG (1) 1, BOB, BP and PG2, Soletrader Langham Rose for Overbecks, 11 months with a really typy head, lovely expression, very much a Petit. Well laid shoulder and good return, well ribbed up, well balanced with good height to length ratio, really scored on the move with excellent front extension and drive going away. Coat coming nicely, a very promising puppy.

O (1) 1, RBOB, Overbecks Kathy Tiere, quality bitch,  well balanced all through, again a lovely head, very good front assembly, level topline kept on the move, good depth and ribbing. Moved well but not with the freedom of the puppy.

Beagle

J (1) 1, BP & PG4, Blitzlilie Girl with No Name, 6 months t/w, a little unsettled at first but as the day went on she gained in confidence. Really liked her overall make and shape, very typy and sound all through with excellent balance and construction, she was sound coming and going and good in profile, obviously still rather soft and puppyish but a very nice type.

PG (3, 1) 1, RBOB, Linkenlees Laurina, 2yo bitch with plenty of ‘look at me’ about her, ample bone and substance, really good front and feet, level topline, strong rear with plenty behind the stern and lots of drive, strode out really well and clean coming towards. This one has been a slow maturer but she is really coming to herself now and put up a strong challenge to her sister today. Best RBOB  Hound. 2, Matoutahi  Hilda Walk Up at Janimist, tri, nice type of hound with excellent overall construction with pleasing outline, moved very well all round, just not the substance of 1.

O (5, 1) 1, Linkenlees Lyric ShCM ShCEx, BOB & G3, one I have done well before; lovely head and soft expression, so typy all through and sound as a pound, a really high class bitch with plenty of substance and correct balance, beautifully constructed, moves so well, a really workmanlike hound in the best sense of the word, just preferred her expression to her sister; 2, Blitzlillie Winter is Coming, very pleasing sort with a good head and expression, level topline, correct stern carriage, good length and depth of ribbing, just a touch wide in front but she moved pretty well; 3, Linkenlees Lucas.

Irish Wolfhounds

PG (1) Hazianne Dark Commander, substantial 3yo male with a very nice masculine head, plenty of depth and substance, level topline, clean out and back, good shoulder. Would prefer more hind angulation and not striding out in profile. BOB.

AVNSC Hound

PG (2, 1) 1, RBOB, Lynx Autumn Mist (Imp Swe) Borzoi, 20 months brindle of lovely type and shape, all elegance and curves, feminine head with super little ears set high, correct feet, good topline with arch in the right place, correct fallaway and strong rear, sound out and back, light and elegant in profile, has some filling out to do but she is a very promising young bitch.

O (2) 1, Best AVNSC Hound & G1, Ina’s Fashion Dedicated to Boughton , Greyhound, love this boy’s head, masculine, well chiselled without any trace of coarseness; neck of good length into a well laid shoulder, clean front, stands over plenty of ground, strong well-muscled rear, moves with precision and drive. He is nowhere near fully mature but he has bucketloads of charisma and ring presence, and was put down to perfection; delighted to see him go on to RBIS; 2, Zilbeck Zanthus, Afghan, self cream, very typy sort with masculine head, good front, moved well all round once he settled, liked his tailset and carriage, well balanced with good angulation.

AV Hound

P (11,7 1, Beagle, B Girl with no Name; 2, ML Dachs, Thelepees Pennyblack Silk, b/t , pretty head, well ribbed up, well balanced outline, moved well despite longish wet grass; 3, Whippet, Ringmore Hecate.

O (8,4) 1, Whippet, Jasarat Salted Caramel of Macalldon, b/f/w just out of puppy, this boy has really filled out and matured since I last judged him when he was all legs and wings. Up to size but he is not coarse, good front and fill, strong loin, standing over ample ground, moved really well, he is developing along the right lines; 2, Whippet, Ringmore Galatea, w/f very nice outline, again well balanced and shapely, sound out and back but not impressed with the cold and wet and her topline suffered accordingly; 3, ML Dachs, Yelva Mister Brandy Man.

AV Hound Veteran (13, 2abs) 1, MS Dachs, Archidax Bonneville, 8yo of lovely type and in outstanding condition. Super head and expression not spoiled by a touch of grey,  well laid shoulder, good depth of keel, well arched toes, level topline, well ribbed up, strong sound rear with plenty of bum and it showed in her hind movement, showed herself off to perfection, comfortable winner of this strong veteran class; 2, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Veltkammer Hot Shot of Lonanza ShCM, elegant red wheaten of 8 ½ years, fit condition, pleasing head, not coarse or over-refined, decent front and feet, correct ridge, he moved really well all round with plenty of drive and covering the ground well; 3, Beagle, Linkenlees Liberty ShCM.

G1, Greyhound, Ina’s Fashion Dedicated to B; G2, MS Dachs, Keydax Layla for Dynastydax JW, delightful b/t junior with a great show ring attitude, super sound in front, well ribbed up, strong well-angled rear, really strode out despite the wet grass; 3, Beagle, L Lyric; G4 Whippet, Citycroft Sundae with Oxana, top notch Whippet of lovely type, impeccable houndy outline, clean free mover, love his combination of elegance and masculinity.
