I’d like to thank the Society for the kind invitation to judge your Open show, I thoroughly enjoyed the day and had the pleasure of judging so many beautiful dogs. Thank you to the exhibitors who entered under me and for accepting my decisions graciously. Thanks also to my efficient stewards who kept the ring running smoothly. Lovely day and super venue!

Class 38 Irish Wolfhound Open (2)

103 Whitglen Leader, 3 year old mature & upstanding male who presents a lovely profile. His head has correct planes & pigmentation, carried high on a long strong, clean neck. Lovely front assembly with good depth, width and angulation throughout. Forelegs straight with excellent bone & feet. Good length of body, with good ribbing. Well angulated rear with good musculature. Moved with an easy stride albeit a little closer behind than ideal. BOB. 

104 Ranfurley Prince, 2 year old male of lovely type who still needs to fill out and mature a little with time. More moderate in all ways than 1 but moved with a nice easy stride, true coming and going.

Class 39 Deerhound Open ( 3,1)

105 Chuillin Lacien, lovely balanced 3 year old female who has a pretty, feminine head and kind dark eye. Strong neck into nicely angled shoulders, good forechest and excellent bone and feet. Strong parallel forelegs. Good length and shape of body, nicely angled rear with well turned stifle. Shown in good coat and condition, she moved with a free, easy stride. BOB.

107 Chuillin Lorendana, litter sister to 1 and sharing many of the same qualities - I found it difficult to separate these two lovely girls. Pretty head, elegant outline, good width and depth of chest, nicely angulated front and back. She was a little unsettled on the move today but moved well when settled.

Class 41 - Saluki Open (1)

108 Glenoak Laquan, 3 year old male who has a lovely balanced outline. Classic head with good breed type & kind dark oval eye. Correct ear set, long, strong neck into sloping shoulders and good return of upper arm with elbow close to his body. Parallel forelegs with nice bone and feet. Good top and underlines, nicely angled rear with a strong low hock. He moved very well with a long, easy and accurate stride. BOB & Pleased to award him Hound Group 4.

Class 42 - Whippet Junior (3)

109 Courtbirch Flame Opal of Brochinbelle, 8 months old female who is both elegant and balanced throughout. Pretty head with correct eye and ear set, long neck into excellent front assembly. Well filled deep chest, with excellent ribbing and good top and underlines. Excellent bone and feet. Good length of body with well defined rear quarters. Moved with a long and easy stride. 

111 Kaymark Polyanna, 11 months female with a beautiful head and correct eye. Excellent lay of shoulder, correct return of upper arm. Lovely balanced outline in profile, not settled today but moved with a long stride at times.

Class 43 - Whippet Post Graduate (6,1)

116 Lorbri Snowy Owl by Berwicklaw, 2 year old female who is very well balanced and catches the eye. Appealing head, correct dark eye and correct earset. Long, elegant neck into excellent front assembly - well laid back shoulders, excellent return and deep, well filled forechest. Excellent bone, parallel forelegs and correct feet. Strong topline, correct underline and well angulated rear completing a well balanced profile. Moved with a long, easy stride which was also true. Close up to BOB. 

113 Maidensworth A Kind of Magic, 3 year old male of a larger type than 1. Balanced outline, he is made well and scored in front assembly. Excellent bone, deep chest and well angled stifle. Shown in excellent musculature and moved well when settled. 

Class 44 - Whippet Open (6,2)

121 Cornstalk Witchcraft By Berwicklaw - Easy winner for me today in this class, this 3 year old bitch is an eye catcher. Very well balanced, she is elegant with substance but not overdone. Pretty head, correct eye and ear. Long neck into excellent front assembly - laid back shoulders, return of upper arm and elbow placement ideal. Chest is deep and well filled with plenty heart room. Excellent ribbing giving a strong topline and correct underline. Lovely bone and feet. Well angulated rear with low hocks which she used to move with ease. Long, free, ground covering stride which is true coming and going. Delighted to award her BOB & Hound Group 2.

122 Knoxhill Barleycorn, larger type than 1 but presenting a balanced outline will a lot to like about this 7 year old bitch in her prime. Lovely front with good shoulders, return of upper arm and deep chest. Lovely bone and feet. Nice ribbing. Balanced rear with low hocks. Moved & handled well.

Class 45 - A.V. Hound NSC Open (8)

This was my favourite class of the day, packed with quality!

126 Boughton Bizzarrini at Azrams 2 year old brindle Greyhound bitch who has matured nicely. She presents a profile of balance, elegance and strength and is not overdone. Excellent head proportions, bright dark eyes and correct earset. Long, strong neck into well laid shoulders, elbows under body and correctly placed. Excellent bone, parallel forelegs and good feet. Deep chest, correct ribbing giving a nice shape and length to body with correct top and underlines, strong loin and correct tailset. Well angulated and muscled rear to complete the picture with a strong, low hock. She moves very well with a free and easy ground covering stride which is both true coming and going away. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC & GP1 and delighted to hear she went all the way to win BIS!

124 Neptune De Koulangar At Sulahmara JW (IMP FRA) - Almost 2 years old Afghan Hound who is still full of energy and personality which is lovely to see. I judged him at one of his first shows and pleased to say he has matured very well. He has a beautiful head, correct eye shape and very appealing markings. Lovely ears, correctly placed and shown in a beautiful coat and condition throughout. Long, strong neck into excellent front assembly. Lovely bone and feet. Good depth and shape of body, he has a well angulated and muscled rear with strong low hocks. Moved very well all-ways, he’s a stylish boy that catches the eye and I”m sure he has a bright future ahead.

Class 46 - A.V. Hound Special Puppy (5,2) A lovely class of 3 pups.

90 Celtic Lore’s Golden Archer at Lyonglen (IMP USA) - just 6 months old red wheaten Ridgeback, he is very raw but has everything in the right place and should mature nicely with time. Beautiful head with good planes and proportions, kind expression and fabulous temperament. Correct pigmentation and eye to harmonise with his liver nose and coat colour. Long, crested neck into well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm putting his elbows underneath his body. Excellent bone for size and well knuckled feet. Enough length of body with good ribbing, depth will come with maturity. Lovely balanced rear with good angles throughout. He scored in his long ground covering stride which is free, active and accurate. Shall watch him with interest. 

132 Newlin Quick Step at Hardexspen - 8 months old male Beagle who is handsome and upstanding. Lovely breed type, he is masculine without being overdone. Correct head proportions, large dark eye and lovely expression. Long strong neck, excellent shoulders with lovely deep chest and good elbow placement. Good ribbing, correct bone and feet. Balanced rear with a. Strong low hock. Moved very well, true coming and going.

Class 47 - A.V. Hound Special Veteran (8,1) Another lovely class of beautiful veterans. 

135 Knoxhill Eclipse - 10 year old black whippet bitch in excellent condition and not looking her age at all. She is well balanced with excellent musculature throughout, good bone and not exaggerated in any way. Pretty head, kind eye, long arched neck into lovely front assembly with nice angles fore and aft. Nice body shape with correct lines. Lovely turn of stifle and low hock which she used to power around the ring with an easy stride. Best Hound Veteran. 

98 Janak Constance at Tarakilna ShCM - 7 year old red wheaten female Ridgeback in her prime. Excellent head type with good proportions, she has lovely breed type and a kind, round eye. Nice depth of muzzle. Long, strong neck into a nice lay off shoulder with good return of upper arm and enough forechest. Excellent bone & feet. Good depth of chest and excellent length of body, moderately angled rear. She moved really well today with a free and easy stride.

Class 48 - Lhasa Apso Post Grad (5)

This breed had quite a few non-standard mouths today therefore I placed accordingly. 

142 Timazinti’s Mishka at Frenchlands 2 year old male with lovely breed type, he is balanced and sturdy but not overdone. Shown in excellent coat and condition, he has a beautiful head, correct eye and good shape of muzzle. Correct reverse scissor bite and dentition. He has a lovely length to height ratio with a strong topline both standing and on the move. Good angulation front and back, lovely bone for size. He moves freely and accurately with ease. 

Kelankins By Design at Billkenstar 18 month old male who also has lovely balance throughout and good breed type. Lovely head with appealing expression, good muzzle and bite. Nicely anglulated, he moves well. 

Class 49 Lhasa Apso Open (5)

147 Timazintis Peppermint at Frenchlands JW ShCM 4 year old male who is mature and in his prime. Shown in a full beautiful coat with excellent condition, he presents a well balanced picture. Kind, dark eye which attracts you to his beautiful head with excellent proportions and correct bite. Strong neck, lovely lay of shoulder, parallel forelegs with excellent bone and feet. Good length of body, strong topline and lovely angulated rear. He moved straight and true effortlessly. I see he is the sire of the PG class winner and they share many of the same qualities. Pleased to award him BOB & GP 4. 

144 Toynbee Gossip Girl at Burnsett 2 year old bitch who scores in front assembly. She is well balanced, has a beautiful head, sparkling eyes and sweet expression. Balanced rear, she moved well. 

Class 50 French Bulldog Open (4,1)

148 Danny the Commander - 1 year old fawn female who stood out for me on overall balance and her soundness can not be denied. Nicely proportioned square head, kind dark eye of good round shape and correct muzzle with good open nostrils and well defined stop. Strong neck, nice shoulder and deep wide chest, good bone and feet. Good body shape with strong back and nicely cut up underline. Strong moderate rear to complete the picture of balance, she moved with ease with a free stride. BOB. 

149 Summergate Breaking Bad - a different type to 1, 11 months old brindle male. Appealing head, dark eyes which were a little runny today. Strong neck, wide chest and nice body shape with moderate front and rear angulation. Moved well when settled, just preferred the overall soundness and clean eye of 1.

Class 51 Dalmatian Open (1)

Sophtspot Evolution - 5 year old mature bitch in her prime. So pretty and balanced throughout, she is a picture standing and on the move. Well marked with well defined black spots. Beautiful head with correct planes and proportions, good scissor bite and kind dark eye. Correct ear size, shape and carriage. Well muscled, crested neck into sloping shoulders of good length with excellent return of upper arm and elbows placed well. Lovely bone for size and excellent feet. Ideal length to height ratio, she has good top and underlines and nicely off the croup with good tailset. Moderately angulated rear to complete a balanced profile. Strong, low hocks which she puts to good use to power around the ring, true and accurate coming and going and has a long ground covering stride in profile. Pleased to award her BOB and GP 1.

Class 52 - Akita Open (2)

2 lovely girls, I was splitting hairs between them.

154 Kitsune Sea the Stars with Inveralicia Just loved this 9 year old bitch for her overall balance, length and movement. She does not look her age at all, giving the impression she could work all day. Beautiful square head, correct flat skull and good eye shape, excellent expression and nice length and depth of muzzle. Strong arched neck into sloping shoulders, well placed forelegs of good bone and excellent feet. Elbows placed under point of shoulder. Deep ample chest, nicely shaped ribbing of excellent length giving ideal length to height proportions and a strong back. Good turn of stifle and low hock completes a balanced picture, she comes into her own on the move. She moves with an easy stride, straight and true with perfect rhythm. BOB. 

Ch Hachibi Let Me Entertain You at Shinzam another beautiful example of the breed, she is a more moderate in rear angles than 1 and shorter in body length. Beautiful head, appealing eye and strong neck. Nicely angled front assembly and lovely bone and feet, elbows close to body. Deep chest, strong back and correct tailset. She moved well all ways.

 Class 53 - Keeshond Open (3,1)

2 lovely girls.

157 Lacetrom Shuna ShCM - 3 year old bitch shown in excellent coat and condition, she is well balanced throughout without exaggeration. Pretty head of correct size and shape, appealing dark eye, correct scissor bite, correct erect ears of ideal proportion. Long, crested neck. Lovely angles front and back, good bone and feet. Good height to length ratio, good shape and depth to rib cage. Correct tailset and carriage. She won this class on her movement which was clean, straight and precise. BOB & GP2 

156 Ir Ch Kichigai Rare Edition at Murmansk Ir Jun Ch ShCM 9 years old and still fabulous, this girl is still in her prime. Shares many of the same qualities as 1 and is another well balanced bitch with excellent coat and condition. Moved with vigour. 

Class 54 Tibetan Spaniel Open (2,1)

159 Tamrae Time Lord at Amadrew - 2 year old male who is well balanced and presents a pleasing picture. Shown in lovely coat and condition he has a masculine head, correct dark eye and good earset. Strong neck, into a well laid shoulder. Good body length, strong topline. Nice bone and feet. Moderately angled rear, and correct tailset - he moved with an active stride which was true fore and aft. BOB

Class 55 - German Spitz (Klein) Open (3)

A lovely class!

162 Spencerian Doggy Style ShCM - Almost 4 years black female in her prime, so well balanced and constructed. Lovely head of good shape and size, dark oval eye, good earset and correct bite. Clean neck into sloping shoulders, good bone and feet. Nice square body of good shape, moderately angled rear to finish the picture of balance. Moved straight without effort or exaggeration. Pleased to award her BOB and GP 3.

160 Spencerian Caribbean Queen - Just 2 years and sister to 1 sharing many of the same qualities. Not as settled as her sister today on the grass but did move well when settled.

Class 56 - AV Utility NSC Open (5,3)

163 Masaru Mekohime Go - Japanese Akita Inu - Very nice and app reaping female of 21 months. Loved her head, bright dark eye of correct size and shape, correct earset. Long, strong crested neck into well developed shoulders, ideal elbow placement. Excellent bone and feet, strong parallel forelegs. Good depth, width and length of rib cage. Good tailset, strong moderately angled rear to finish a balanced picture. She moved very well with an active, smooth stride. Best AVNSC.

166 Layoli Sea of Secrets at Billkenstar - Tibetan Terrier - 8 months old handsome black male who is so well balanced. Appealing head, dark eye and good dentition. Well constructed front assembly, well off for bone and good feet. Nice shape and length of body, well muscled and angulated rear. Moved well all ways with an effortless stride, only lost out on maturity today.

Moved accurately with drive. Best AV Utility Special Puppy.
