Junior Handling

Class 117 12-16 Years

Both these girls are fabulous handlers and I was really being picky trying to decide between the two. I would be thrilled to have either of them handle one of my own dogs, if they were not such hooligans.

1st 239 Izzy King handling a Tibetan Terrier. Izzy is an excellent, sympathetic handler. Very polite and she was always looking at where I was standing whilst still making sure her dog was putting on a performance. She showed the teeth well and instantly repositioned the dog when I moved her foot. Her lines were neat. One change I would make is for her to have more confidence in herself, stand up straighter and speak a little louder. You have it all there, Izzy, believe in yourself as much as everyone else does.

2nd 9 Jessica Bootes handling a Beagle. Jessica was also excellent and caring towards her dog. She is well mannered and confident without being flashy. She wasn’t quite as smooth showing the teeth as her competitor but she was well aware of the dog’s position on the table and repositioned her foot quickly. Her lines were smooth and she moved her dog at the correct speed, however she did just take the dog off the mat when she came back towards me. These were really minor details but, on the day, I had to make the decision and these little issues were what clinched it.
