Dorset County Canine Society

My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge and my stewards, Colin and Barry, for keeping the ring running smoothly throughout my breeds.  Irish Setter P(1,0): 1.  Jones’ Riverdance of Irish Smiling Eye Imp B, stood alone but this dog is developing nicely.  Pleasing head, sound front and reasonable angulations throughout.  Has potential.  BPIB; Y(4,0): 1. Hadfield’s Covarney Estee Avec Marzanne, nice young bitch with well-proportioned feminine head, dark eyes and good stop. Straight front, OK topline and good bend of stifle. Steady confident mover which won her the class; 2. Harris’ Blazing Bronze Happy Clappy Sing Konakakela (Imp NLD), sound dog with good masculine head.  Nice topline, deep chest, well boned and good tailset. Didn’t move as well as 1 today; 3. Pike’s Redclyst Glenury Princess Of China; Res. MacDonald’s Redclyst Head Full Of Dreams. PG(6,0): 1. Pike’s Redclyst Boris, masculine head on a good length neck, straight front with nice lay back of shoulder, OK topline with correct tailset and good bend of stifle.  So nice to see a coat that is free from waves.  Moved with purpose and drive around the ring to win the class and also BOB.  So pleased to see him go G1 as well. ; 2. Rorke’s Zakhans Demelza, I have done this bitch well before and she continues to mature nicely. Lovely proportions throughout with feminine head, dark eyes and gentle expression.  Liked her front, topline and overall length. Steady mover; 3. MacDonald’s Redclyst Maximus; Res. Mullins’ Heathclare Duckies; VHC. McCabe’s Clonageera Thrift; O(5,0): 1. Jones’ Hunnicoat Handyman; Another one that I have done well before and I am not disappointed with how he has matured.  Handsome head with good eye colour, nice shape to muzzle and low ear set.  Well-proportioned and balanced body with correct topline with good angulations front and rear.  Moved steady and true but today he didn’t show the level of drive that I have seen before hence pipped at the post for top honours.  RBOB.  2. Partridge’s Kerrydown Octavia, Good size bitch with a pretty head and gentle expression. Liked her topline, straight front, good bend of stifle and correct feet.  Moved soundly; 3. Rorke’s Cataluna May Queen; Res. McCabe’s Redclyst Cosette; VHC. Pike’s Redclyst Kearney.   English Springer Spaniel SY(4,0): 1. Gray’s Trimere Time Tracker, this young boy shows a lot of maturity for his age and stood out in this class.  Well boned, he has a good shape head with nice stop and correct proportions.  Strong body of good length, sound front, well let down hindquarters and correct tailset.  Moved out confidently and with drive.  RBOB; 2. Glass’ Gunring My Boy, another young boy that is developing nicely.  Strong head but well proportioned body.  Moved OK.; 3. Holman’s Roqfolly Jumpin Jack Flash; Res. Williams and Toublic’s Cobhay Fancy Phlox. PG(1,0): 1. Williams and Toublic’s Cobhay Dazzling Azalea, liked the feminine head with nice dark eyes, correct ear set and good stop.  Liked the front assembly and bend of stifle.  Moved steadily; O(3,1): 1. Williams and Toublic’s Cobhay Dahlia, mature bitch with nice temperament, she was easily the best mover in this breed today and this won her the class and BOB.  I would prefer a more feminine head but her body has many positives including nice length of neck, good topline, good spring of rib, correct topline and tailset.  The nice angulations at the rear provided good drive on the move.  2. Holman’s Roqfolly Endeavour For Artycreath, handsome, nicely proportioned head, sound construction, level topline and good tailset.  Would have preferred slightly more bend of stifle but moved reasonably well. NSDT SY(0,0); O(4,2) 1. Hipkiss’ Erikachen O’Ruadh For Deltandamba JW Sh CM, mature dog that stood well, moved well and was presented with good coat.  Correct head shape, strong neck, nice shoulders, level topline and well muscled.  Moved with purpose and drive.  BOB; 2. Palfrey’s Flushpoint Whata Accident For Melanitta (Imp SWE), veteran bitch with nice head and sound build.  Preferred the outline and movement of 1 today; RBOB.
