Marlborough & District Canine Society – Open Show – Monday 6th May 2019

Judge – Mrs Kelly Lee (Kelrick)

I would like to thank the committee of Marlborough & District Canine Society for inviting me to judge at their show, my stewards Nickie Longden & Michelle Stidwell who organised the ring efficiently for me and the exhibitors for their attendance and sporting attitudes. I had some really nice dogs to go over and enjoyed the show.

Breed – CKCS

P: (6,1) 1. Coole’s Jolainey Finlay. Lovely fluffy 6 month old Blenheim puppy dog presented in immaculate condition. Large round dark eyes, correct dentition, dark pigment and melting expression. Well angulated and moved with well around the ring. Very happy disposition, enjoyed showing off! BP

2. Kemp’s Capriconia Donatello. Beautifully presented 8 month old black and tan puppy dog. Silky raven black coat with rich tan markings. Lovely head with round dark eyes, correct earset and sweet expression. Very outgoing friendly personality. Moved well when settled.

J: (3) 1. Lewis’ Carleeto Joe Cocker. 12 month old black & tan dog. This boy has matured beautifully since I judged him as a puppy. Well groomed with silky raven black coat and rich tan markings. Lovely head with melting expression, correct dentition, well set ears and round dark eyes. Compact and well balanced with good angulation and tailset. Moved with good reach and drive covering the ground with ease. Happy to award him BOB.

2. Yeates’ Merryanna Easter Buddy. 13 month old Blenheim dog. Well presented with silky coat and well broken markings. Nice head with good earset, correct dentition, good pigment and soft melting expression. Friendly temperament. Good angulation, moved well both ways.

Novice: (4,2) 1. Yeates’ Merryanna Easter Buddy (see 2nd in Junior)

2. Bucknell’s Glenbrows Questionmark. 7 month old Blenheim dog. Presented well with silky coat. Sweet head with correct earset, round dark eyes, good pigment and correct dentition. Moved well both ways.

PG: (4) 1. Taylor’s Mastercut Jack Frost From Taybar. 2 ½ year old Blenheim dog. Presented well with plenty of silky coat and well broken markings. Nice head with well set ears, skull almost flat between the ears, large round dark eyes, good pigment and correct dentition. Good angulation which he used to good effect moving elegantly around the ring. RBOB.

2. Cox’s Timbric Truffle For Fujairah. 3 year old ruby dog. Immaculately presented with plenty of silky rich red coat. Lovely head with large round dark eyes, well set ears with plenty of feathering, good pigment, correct dentition. Well angulated throughout, moved with good reach and drive.

O: (5,1) 1. Taylor’s Trirayne Karrieanne. Lovely 6 year old Blenheim bitch. Well presented with plenty of silky chestnut and pearly white coat finished with a Blenheim spot. Pretty head with melting expression, round dark eyes spaced well apart, enough cushioning, good pigment and correct dentition. Good lay of shoulder and good rear assembly. Moved well with plenty of drive.

2. Cox’s Featherfalls Fairy Finesse of Fujairah. Beautiful 8 year old tricolour bitch. Presented in immaculate condition with soft silky black and white coat and rich tan markings in the right places. Lovely head with large dark eyes, good pigment, correct dentition, skull almost flat between the ears and good earset. Happy outgoing disposition. Well angulated and moved elegantly.

Breed – Chihuahua (Smooth Coat)

P: (2) 1. Hall’s Jorazan Rocky Balboa. A lovely alert 11 month old cream coloured puppy dog with lots of spirit and the desired “saucy” expression. Well rounded “apple” domed skull with large dark eyes set well apart and large well set ears. Good angulation and correct tail. Well balanced. Moved well holding a level topline. BP & RBOB

2. Whitton’s Chinatown Ready to Parti. A sweet puppy bitch of 7 ½ months. Correct “apple dome” head with large flaring ears. Good pigmentation, large dark eyes set well apart. Correct tail, moved well. Not as confident as the winner.

G: (3,1) 1. Hall’s Jorazan Apollo Creed. Litter brother to the BP. 11 month old dog with alert, spirited temperament. Lovely head and correct skull, large dark eyes and “saucy” expression. Good angulation and good turn of stifle. Moved well maintaining a level topline.

2. Whitton’s Mikichi Mirror Beau in Chinatown. 11 month old dog. Nice “apple dome” head with correct earset, large dark eyes and moderately short muzzle. Well made body and correct tail. Moved well.

O: (3,1) 1. Hall’s Diamonchi Ushuaia Star Girl at Jorazan. Lovely 2 ½ year old bitch. Pretty head with large dark eyes, flaring ears, good dentition, and well domed skull. Alert and spirited with the desired “saucy” expression. Good angulation throughout which she used to good effect on the move. Correct tail and tailset. Very attentive to handler. Happy to award her BOB

2. Whitton’s Chinatown Charlie’s Angel. 12 month old bitch. Lovely head with large round eyes, correct muzzle with definite stop, flaring ears with good earset. Correct dentition with scissor bite. Good angulation and good turn of stifle. Moved well.

Breed – Chihuahua (Long Coat)

P: (1) 1. Lee’s Barwater Agatha Christie of Ridgehawk. Stunning 6 month old Tri bitch. Although she stood alone, this was a well deserved first place. Beautifully presented, correct head with desired “saucy” expression, dark eyes, good pigment and good feathering. Correct tail, level topline which she held on the move. Well angulated and moved with brisk forceful action. BP and pleased to hear she was later awarded PG2

G: (2) 1. Squire’s Taurusdale Brani. 15 month old fawn bitch. Well presented with good feathering in the correct places. Lovely head with “saucy” expression, well set flaring ears, dark eyes, correct dentition, and good pigment. Slightly arched neck leading to well laid shoulders, good angulation and well balanced. Moved well. RBOB

2. Lee’s Ridgehawk Sally Ann. 22 month old red sable and white bitch. Lovely head with expressive large dark eyes, well set ears, good pigmentation. Good feathering and well presented. Correct tail and good angulation. Moved well holding a level topline.

O: (2) 1. Lee’s Ridgehawk Freds Legacy. 3 year old red and white dog. Well presented with good feathering. Lovely head with correct “apple domed” skull, large dark eyes, good pigmentation, correct dentition. Well angulated, level topline and correct tail. Moved with brisk, forceful action with good drive from the hindquarters. Maintained a level topline on the move. A lovely well balanced dog. Happy to award him BOB

2. Cater’s Pixels Moonlight Express JW. 2 year old fawn bitch. Pretty head with “saucy” expression and correct skull. Dark eyes, good pigmentation, correct dentition. Well angulated with good turn of stifle. Moved well with brisk action.
