Cleveland Agricultural Show Society

Thank you to the committee for the invite to judge and for all the exhibitors for braving the rain , and many thanks to my steward for keeping the ring running smoothly and for keeping the paperwork as dry as possible.

Golden Retriever P (3,1a) Two lovely puppies, brother and sister, not much between them both, well balanced and both had good heads and in good coat, the dog moved better from behind however the bitch was cleaner in front at present, the dog had the edge on profile movement just holding his topline a little better , im sure these will both swap places. 1. Bells " Hoaaloha Maui" BP and PG3. 2. Bells " Hoaaloha Moana".

G(2,1a) 1.Wrights " Palton Pavarotti" lovely rich golden colour which i like to see, this dog was well balanced but was a little aprehensive on going over, maybe been the weather putting him off , deep in body and had good bone, moved out well , lovely for type.

O(4,2a) 1. Taylors " Stormford Honeysuckle sh cm " very sweet bitch, well balanced frame, with good spring of rib and depth of chest, she presents a very nice outline on the stack and is all female, nothing overdone not the most enthusiastic mover  today but very sound nonetheless and with the weather been how it was and for a 7 year old i think she did a great job, like her a lot pleased to award BOB and G3.

2. Wrights " Palton Panetela" well balanced dog another with that rich colour, good bone and dark expressive eyes, carrying a little to much weight today which showed on the move rolling a little, nevertheless lovely for type and construction.

Labrador Retriever J(2) Another brother and sister duo, quality puppies as i would expect from this kennel, 6 months old both well balanced , good bone and deep well sprung ribs on both, bitch was more settled on the move however needs more confidence which im sure will come , the dog was very erractic on the move , bitch pipped it today. 1. Roberts " Stormrose Sweet wishes" BP, PG3. 2 Roberts " Stormrose Gold Medal". G (2,2a) O(2) 1. Roberts " Stormrose Golden Fortune Jw shcm" golden dog,7 years old a bit strong in head for me, good depth of chest and spring of rib, moved better in front . Good pigment and holds strong topline. Won BOB on maturity 2. Mcdonalds " Zanys Lollipop For Marronoir" black bitch of almost 9 years old, sweet bitch, good expression, took a while to settle on the move, enjoying her day out.

Cocker Spaniel J (3) 1 Lowerys " Amaroanne Apollo" 14 month dog, super youngster who really caught my eye beautiful head and eye, cobby in body and deep in ribs, well placed shoulders and decent bone, moved out with that typical merry cocker action, just quality and had no hesitation in giving him BOB and the Gundog group today. 2. Dolans " Wilanorah Never Say Never " another 14 month , a little higher on the leg and not as mature but really liked this dog, gorgeous head and eye with well set ear, deep in body, another who moved out well, very promising will watch his career with interest. 3. Collins " Craigdean Killiecrankie at Candyke". G (2,1a) 1. Lowerys " Amaroanne Theos" litter brother to 1 and similar comments apply, just moving a little wider another with a promising future. O(2) 1. Collins " Cachel King of Hearts at Candyke " jw .

2 year old dog, good outline on the stack, with good bone , well developed in chest and good in shoulder, moved a little wide behind , well presented, preferred movement of the junior winner. Unfortunately this exhibitor wasn,t happy with my decision as she continued to rant and chunter ringside about the dog i gave BOB to and then make comments that i need to learn what a cocker spaniel is , this was all said in earshot of myself and the people i went to the show with, we all have a opinion but there is a time and place, my advice maybe a less competitive hobby may be a option or approach me after rather than trying to create a atmosphere ringside.  2. Palmers " Dreamist Rock n Rye at Colmier" not as masculine as 1 and not the body, but well presented and moved out well, liked his head and expression.

American cocker Spaniel O(2,1a) 1,Steel/Jeffersons " Misticolas Murphys Law at Sharnamber shcm" 5 year old b/t, upstanding male, solid in body and has a good head piece with correct positioned ears and good lip, moved really well and very sound coming and going, gets his tail up a bit which does distract a little in outline, but close for group placing. BOB.

Sussex Spaniel G (1) 1, Hetheringtons " Serendel Sussex escapade" have previously judged this dog, scores for breed type and is balanced with good length and spring of rib, his movement is typical of a sussex and has a super character, i like him a lot. Although alone well deserved hos BOB, and went well in the group well deserving his G4.

GSP G (1) 1, Bowmans " Ceilloch Azure" 13 month old bitch, not happy with the weather today hindering her overall performance, however she is a good sort, nice in head and starting to mature, still needs to drop into herself and relax more which will improve the overall outline, moved ok, prefered her front over the open winner so BOB. O(1) 1, Bowmans " Borland Mill Aika" rangier bitch l/w, liked her head type, ok in body but needs more chest developed and was wide in front, in excellent coat and condition, happy mover.

Pointer G (2,1a) 1,Anderson-Rowells " Daledancer Rita Owler" lovely 7 months old o/w puppy bitch, beautiful type presents a lovely outline stacked, has all the potentials to go on and do well in the future, her rear movement needs to strengthen plenty of time for that but her profile movement is a joy to watch, good bone for a bitch and has a very pretty head, liked her a lot BP, BOB,and PG1.

O(2,1a)  1, Anderson-Rowells " Little Owl Scandiaco for Daledancer " b/w bitch who i have done well for before and recently gave a critique, not as happy today would rather be hunting grouse than running around the ring today, lost out to her kennel mate on performance. Still a good sort. Irish Setter G (1) 1, Sloanes " Ferasheen Jindea" 22 month, very feminine bitch , good for type, and in good coat, needs to mature and settle in movement, promising youngster who just needs time. O(2) Liked both of these males, 1 was better on the move today and a very honest sort, both had deep ribs and were in hard condition, excellent angulation on both, 1 slighter better over the loin than 2., not much between them close decision. 1. Wheeldons " Bardonhill Jealous Guy For Colemist " BOB. 2, Sloanes " Fersasheen Patriot Game".
