East Of England Ladies Kennel Society

Golden Retrievers, AV Special Beginners Stakes & AV Good Citizen Dog Scheme Stakes

I would firstly like to thank and congratulate the officers and committee of the club, firstly for the invitation to judge at the show, but secondly and possibly more important was the way they run the show, this being a new venue for the club but also for a dog show, so yes they had to work hard to ensure that all the exhibitors, judges and spectators enjoyed their day, and I can say for one that I truly had the most wonderful day and the atmosphere around the show was excellent and this is all down to the hard work that people put in the day before and also on the day to ensure that it ran like clockwork, so congratulations.

Golden Retrievers

Puppy Dog/Bitch 4 (2 abs)

1st BP & RBOB, Pett’s Rumwood Three Times a Lady, 8 month old pale bitch, with the most feminine head and expression with great pigment to finish the look off, nice length of neck that just flowed into the lovely correct shoulder placement, good depth through the heart, lovely spring of ribs, short coupled and firm top line which was held standing and moving, great angles at the rear with a nice developing second thigh that she used to move around the ring with ease once she had settled down, well set tail and carried straight of her back, in lovely coat.

2nd Wallington’s Wynrita School Daze, 11 month old dog, medium darkness in colour, strong head and expression but without being overdone in any way, firm strong neck flowing into nice front angles, good depth of chest and enough spring of rib for his age, strong firm top line and tail set, this was held on the move, strong rear angles, movement needs to be watched when he is giddy.

Junior Dog/Bitch 6 (2 abs)

1st Wheeldon’s Thornywait Viva la Vida for Catnnels, 16 month old bitch with a sweet feminine head and expression, for me she could just do with a little bit more width in the skull, lovely length of neck that just flowed into great front angulations, great depth of chest and spring of rib, strong firm top line and tail placement that was held well on the move, good rear angles with a well-developed second thigh, which she used to move around the ring, just had enough coat for me today, sadly in the challenge she just started to tire at the end but pushed hard for the RBOB.

2nd Kinchella’s Honeymill Elder Warrior, Dark dog with a masculine head and expression, good neck into well placed shoulders, plenty of heart room and good spring of ribs, solid top line, good rear angulation, moved with purpose around the ring.
