GUNDOG CLUB of NORTH WALES OPEN SHOW 17/11/2019

I should like to extend my thanks to the Offices & Committee for inviting me to judge at this Show. The hospitality and friendship offered to me throughout the day was superb, thank you. A big thank you to all the exhibitors who entered under me. I found all exhibits to be healthy specimens of their breed, devoid of any exaggerations.

ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIELS

G (3) 1. C.L. Clarke's : Tigerrock Dire Straits, happy 13 month old dog, handsome head, good eyes with no haw showing, correct complete dentition, good length of neck, lovely forequarters with good shoulder and upper arm, deep well developed chest, well sprung ribs, strong in body, sound & stylish on the move, in beautiful coat and very well presented. 2. House's : Gleadsbury Dynamite, friendly 13 month old bitch, nice head, good ear set, forelegs straight and well boned, well sprung ribs, muscular throughout, stifle & hocks moderately bent, sound on the move but not as free as 1. 3. Thomas's : Tigerrock Ocellatus O (5,1a) C.D. Clarke's : Ternspringer Band Man at Reulemill, quality 4 year old male, lovely head and foreface with kind expression, correct complete dentition, strong & muscular in the neck, shoulders well laid, excellent forequarters, deep well developed chest, well sprung ribs, very muscular throughout which was exemplified when he moved with reach and drive, looked as if he could go on all day. Excellent presentation and very well handled. BoB 2. C.L. Clarke's : Tigerrock Let's Rock N Roll, 2 year old balanced male, quality head and nice eyes, correct and complete dentition, well boned and muscular throughout, well sprung ribs, well coupled, moved nicely holding a firm topline, not quite the drive & reach of 1. Good presentation. 3. Thomas's : Tigerrock Super Ted

AMERCIAN COCKER SPANIELS

G (2) 1. Glover's : Nasailleen Roosevelt at Mickcals, 14 month old male with a kind but masculine head & expression, long muscular neck, shoulders deep, good depth of chest, ribs deep & well sprung, muscular throughout, good angulation at the stifle, excellent movement covering the ring effortlessly & smoothly, in excellent coat, very well presented & handled. BoB 2. Brannan's : Streak of Lightning (Imp), same age as 1, well balanced male of good size, head well developed, correct stop, dark expressive eyes, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, well angulated hindquarters, hocks well let down, not balanced and inconsistent when moving. Good presentation O (1) 1. Glover's : Mickcals Black Velvet, well presented 3 year old female with bags of attitude, lovely head with correct stop, well ribbed with an elegant neck and well laid back shoulders, straight front, well boned, chest deep with well sprung ribs, moved nicely keeping a good gently sloping topline. Excellent presentation & well handled.

SUSSEX SPANIEL

P (4) 1. Matthew's : Foxhampton Fly by Night, quality 10 month old bitch puppy, balanced head, correct eyes, melting female expression, correct complete dentition, long & strong in neck, excellent forequarters, muscular throughout and developing well in bone, well balanced and accurate fore and aft on the move, keeping a good topline. BP 2. Brown's : Rangatira Lovely Lady, 7 month old puppy bitch all wriggles and very loose at this stage, lovely head, correctly proportioned in body, needs time to tighten up and grow on a little. When settled her movement was true both fore & aft with good balance. 3. Matthew's : Foxhampton Falling Star Y (2,1a) 1. Hasting's : IRCH Bardings Bypolar Bear IR JR CH, JW, 20 month old quality male, excellent construction and breed type throughout, super well balanced head with good eye colour & thick lobular ears, correct & complete dentition, strong neck into well placed shoulders, chest deep & well developed, muscular hindquarters. In very good coat and condition. Very sluggish on the move today particularly in the challenge. L (3) 1. Way's : Eald Village Poacher for Shuvick JW mature dog, excellent skull shape, clearly defined stop, nostrils well developed, great ear set, good straight forequarters, muscular throughout, well sprung ribs, strong loin, moved soundly. 2. Ashcroft & Boswell's : Marquell You Know you Know Torshca pleasing bitch in the correct proportions, well balanced head, good eye and ear sets, good forequarters, deep well developed chest, muscular hindquarters with good bone. Moved soundly. 3. Bradbury & Preston's : Serendel Sussex Euphoria at Harasteorra O (2) 1. Ashcroft & Boswell's : Marquell Xclamation Mark after Torshca, 5 year old very well balanced quality bitch in excellent condition, balanced head, lovely eyes, perfect regular and complete scissor bite, strong neck into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs, muscular throughout, good deep second thigh, moderately bent stifle, very smooth powerful movement, driving from rear, excellent presentation and handling. BoB 2. Hipgrave's : Bethryn Night on the Town, 6 year old balanced male, excellent skull shape with pronounced stop, long strong neck, deep and well developed chest, muscular throughout and well off for bone, moved soundly with powerful rear action and good topline.

  FIELD SPANIELS

O (2,1a) 1. Moss's : Fecimus Chase the Dream to Ewtor JW, 15 month old male with super head well chiselled, occiput defined, muzzle long & lean, almond eyes, correct bite, muscular, long & strong in neck, well developed deep chest, strong in hindquarters, well muscled throughout, excellent movement with drive from the rear. Excellent presentation. BoB
