Graduate (2, 1 abs)

1.    Carters Afilador Amadora. 7m bitch, good example of the breed with a feminine head, expressive eyes and excellent ear set. Good long muscular neck into correct shoulders and good straight front legs. Well balanced bitch once settled. Nice moderate angulation in rear. Movement was fine once settled. BPIB PG4

Open (3, 1 abs)

1.    Carters Ch Amahte Runnin on Jamaican Time JW ShCM ShCEx VW (Imp). This 8 year old male is the picture of balance. Quality masculine head framed with large typical ears. I loved his gorgeous expression, a real heart melter! Good typical front assembly, good underline and gentle topline into strong moderate quarters which helped him drive around the ring with good extension and typical suspended trot. In absolutely wonderful condition. BOB, HG4, Best Hound Veteran

2.    Carters Afilador Room on the Broom ShCM. 4 year old bitch. Another good example of the breed, nicely feminine throughout again with a super lean head. She wasn’t as balanced stacked and couldn’t meet 1 (Her sire) for movement. A very happy bitch enjoying her outing and moved well.

1.    Turners Lauralee Don’t Stop Me Now of Devonhound. 9 month old lemon and white bitch full of quality. Loved her head, good balance and planes and excellent eyes. Quality long ears, strong muzzle and good bite. Excellently laid shoulders, short strong forelegs with moderate skin wrinkles. A little bum high at the moment. Good strong rear quarters and correct stern. Lovely happy personality, she definitely enjoyed her day. Although she stood alone in the breed, I was delighted to award her BOB, HG3 and PG1

Junior (6, 3 abs)

1.    Howgate & Hull’s Bryntreia Whispered Love at Palmik. 9 month fawn white bitch. Lovely sized bitch. Quality feminine head, Nice length of neck into well laid shoulders. Nicely balanced bitch with a good series of curves and balanced with enough length. Good back end with no excessive angulation and I like her short tidy hocks. Moved very well in profile with extension and drive.  BPIB, PG3

2.    LIvseys Bryntreia Sea of Love. 8m brindle boy. Good quality, attractive boy going through the normal leggy phase at this age. Lovely neck, into okay shoulder s- would prefer a little more angulation. Lovely topline with gentle curve and matching underline. A nice sweep of stifle without exaggeration and good hocks. Moved well but couldn’t match 1.

3.    Steer & Dingles Kierpark Bring me Sunshine

Graduate (4, 2 abs)

1.    Troutons Citycroft Grace Kelly of Runnel JW. Admired this 19m red fawn/white bitch from the ringside. Loved her outline and size. Beautiful feminine head and good jaw. Well laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Deep chest into a curvy underline and nice gentle topline. Good rear quarters. Good profile movement and extension. A little close behind today.

2.    Gallies Erbys Fire and Ice. 2 year old red fawn girl. Lovely feminine bitch, pretty head and nice long neck. Okay front angulation, good deep chest and nice balance of length and curvy shape. Moderate hind quarters and moved well but couldn’t match 1 on extension.

Open Dog ( 5, 3 abs)

1.    Troutons Runnel Run for Fun. Nice quality, class classic fawn dog. He is handsome boy who is well balanced but without exaggeration. Lovely deep chest and underline curves with a gentle sweep over his topline. Strong but moderate hindquarters. He extended well around the ring.

2.    Livseys Palmik Ace of Spades. Striking dark brindle male. Masculine boy with a handsome head and good length of neck and front assembly. Good deep chest and enough length to create a balance picture stacked. Unfortunately, on the move he crabbed a little, on profile he had plenty of reach and drive.

Open bitch ( 4, 1 abs)

1.    Howgate & Hull’s Palmik Queen of Diamonds JW. 2 year old brindle parti bitch. This girl is an absolute gem. I judged her as a minor puppy and she has fulfilled all her promise and more. She is spot on for size and oozes femininity. The prettiest of heads, strong but lean neck into superb shoulder. Super lay back of shoulders which were so smooth and a return of upper arm. Good fill of front but without coarseness or bulkiness. Beautiful curvy underline and topline which sweeps into her hindquarters.  She had good muscle tone and lovely short hocks which she used to drive around the ring. Her movement is so incredibly true in every direction she really is a top-drawer bitch and I was delighted to award her BOB and HG1.

2.    Gallies Gwendariff Thanks a Latte. 4 year old pale fawn bitch who again is a real quality girl.   She has a lovely head into an excellent front and her overall shape really is curvy and balanced. Just a shame she was carrying a little too much condition. She moved very well with extension and drive.

1.    Westaways Abbilis Maleficent at Treranch. 7 month old pretty red bitch of correct size. Good amount of forechest and good angles. Level topline which she kept on the move. Moved well.

Open (4, 1 abs)

1.    Sainsburys Drymoor After Eight at Boscolla. Pretty B/T bitch. Excellent front and forechest and nice bone throughout. Level topline and good rearquarters which she used to drive round the ring with front extension. BOB

2.    Westaways Abbilis Jive Taking at Treranch. Red bitch who was a little slighter throughout. Feminine head, good front and forechest. Longer bitch than 1 but her loin wasn’t as short and strong as 1. Lovely straight topline which she held on the move. Nice coat

3.    Butlers Drymoor Silver Thrup’ney bit. Nice 8 month dog pup. A little unsure of himself at the moment. But when he moved and stacked he really was a promising pup. Lovely masculine head and good front angulation and forechest. Long body and good loin. Moved soundly. BP

Graduate (2)

1.    Kilroys Janacop Maggie May. 2 year old black and tan bitch. Lovely quality and nice size. Really held her topline on the move, not always as level whilst stacked. Good short strong loin and strong rearquarters. Moved very well.

2.    Landry’s Royaldach’s Lovely Lottie. 12m bitch who was a size larger throughout. Excellently made front assembly and good level topline. Moved soundly unfortunately she was just carrying too much condition today.

1.    Thomas’ Royaldach Authorised Queen JW ShCM. Super 5 yr oldB/T bitch. Equisite shape with good reach of neck, excellent forechest and front assembly. Lovely straight topline which she held on the move and very sound. Good strong rear and used this to drive around the ring. BOB HG2

2.    Kilroys Bronia Ramona.  This 3 year old bitch was not so happy at this cold venue today despite the handler doing an excellent job. She is a lovely bitch who is well made throughout and has obvious quality. She moved true but lacked drive.

1.    Butlers Zarcrest Gloria Vanderbilt from Drymoor. This 8 year old red bitch was not showing her age at all! She was in great condition and had a super coat and feathering. Long lean head, good neck and lovely front angles. Topline was good and she had strong rear quarters. Moved with extension and drive and soundly too.

1.    Dachshund (MWH) Kilroys Blackvein Cupid at Janacop. 11 month old chap who has a super balanced outline. Loved his front assembly and forechest. Good clearance. Level topline and strong loin. Good hindquarters and he won this class on his movement when he really extended and drove around the ring. BP AVNSC; HPG2

2.    Saluki. Layton-Smiths Velourias Pris Von Schmidt. 14m, gorgeous feminine bitch. Lovely type and flowed around the ring. Going through a typical ‘junior’ stage which meant she was a little untidy coming and going today.

Two super dogs in this class.

1.    Saluki. Layton-Smiths Elviis Al Noushafarin Velourias (Imp) 3 year old cream quality male. He is a quality dog that moved effortlessly around the ring. Lovely shape with long neck, good front and bladed bone. In excellent condition with a strong loin and rear quarters. Just missed out on a group placing. BAVNSC

2.    Dachshund (WH) Wills Cicelane Magnus. Super 3 year old male. Loved his coat and furnishings. Super front and tight elbows. Good length with strong loin and back end. Drove around the ring. Very close to 1.

2.    Landrys Royaldach’s King Solomon. Dachshund (MSH) 7.5 year old chap who is a superb showman. He moved so well not giving away his age. He had super angulations throughout, strong rearquarters and kept his topline on the move. Unlucky to meet 1
