I would like the thank the GBAS committee for the lovely invitation to judge Flatcoated Retriever dogs at their open show. I had a very enjoyable day and your hospitality was excellent. Many thanks to my steward and all exhibitors who entered and accepted my decision on the day.t

PUPPY

1st - Mrs W Blains Ronevorg I’m A Believer in Steelriver

Very much a 6 month old enthusiastic puppy. Lovely masculine one piece head and kind dark eye. Good front angulation, spring of rib with moderate depth. Nice short loin through to good rear angulation. Level topline with correct tail set. Excited on the move but he very much oozed character, promising young Male. Best Puppy.

POSTGRADUATE 

1st - Ms C Reekie’s Rotherfield Find A Reason

Nearly 3 year old Male. Nicely moulded head, with lovely tight ears. Well laid shoulders and return of upper arm. Great depth and spring of rib with level topline. Good rear angulation, correct tail set and carriage. Moved free flowing with reach and drive. 

2nd - Dr R Manson’s Sylkienorrie Neepy Lantern

Liver Male of 4 years. Nice head and expression suiting his colour. Good fore chest, level topline and in firm condition. Correct angulation front and rear. Strode out well on the move.

1st - Mr R Douglas’ Sh Ch Greenbayhill Black Tuxedo

This handsome male at 10 years old is very much the finished article. Lovely classic head, dark eye with kind expression. Good lay of shoulder and correct return of upper arm. Excellent depth of chest. Well spring rib and short square loin. Great coat which was well feathered. Fantastic topline which he held standing and effortlessly on the move. Best Male then BOB.

2nd - Mrs E Cullens Orkhatos Lucas at Auchinbreck ShCM 

Another veteran at 8 years, not one bit looking his age. Fantastic head, intelligent expression. Good front construction into level topline. Superb tight feet. Short coupled, good bend of stifle. Moved just like a youngster.
