BIRTLEY AND DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY MEMBERS LIMITED SHOW 29 SEP 19

I thoroughly enjoyed judging at this show. It was well run and the lunch provided for the judges was impressive, a special thanks to the hard working kitchen staff . I was pleased to see that I had been allocated my favorite steward Sylvia Wright who kept the proceedings running smoothly.

BEST IN SHOW – SMART – MIN POODLE – VOODOOLAN BLACK MAGIC SPELL ShCM ShCEx – a balanced and elegant looking dog with a well chiselled foreface and a good bite. Good ribs with a short strong back, nice hindquarters and well toned. His movement was sound both ways. He was presented in excellent coat and condition.

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW – GRIFFITHS – WFT – BROCOLITIA POINT OF FIRE ShCM ShCEx – good head with a keen expression, black nose and correct bite. He has a good neck and shoulders, straight front and good bone. His hindquarters were well muscled with good angulation. He was presented in first class condition and moved well.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW – DREW – GSP – ARCHERPOINT NATIVE DANCER – she has a proportioned head and pleasing expression with well placed ears and correct bite. Good neck and shoulders, nice front and compact feet. Her body was toned with muscular hindquarters. She moved well both ways.

RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW – POTTS – WHIPPET – RANVELI LEMON POPSICLE AT KLONDYKE – pleasing head with an alert expression, good bite and ears. Elegantly arched neck with straight front and strong pasterns. She has a deep brisket with a good tuck up, her movement was positive both ways.

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW – HOLMES – PYRENEAN – LISJOVIA SHAKEY BYRNE – Nearly 8 years old. He was well balanced with a strong head and muzzle, nice expression good neck and shoulders, broad chest and muscled hindquarters. Moved and showed well.

RESERVE BEST VETERAN IN SHOW – STEEL AND JEFFERSON – AMERICAN COCKER SPANIAL – MYCALLEYS DENISSE SHARNAMBER ShCM VW – nine and a half, well chiselled head, good bone and forelegs, deep chest and correct ribs. She has well muscled hindquarters and was in good coat. Moved well both ways.

1. GRAY – BRATILDA STRICTLY MINE – nice apple shaped head with pleasing eyes and expression. Correct neck and shoulders, level topline, in good coat and nice plume. Moved ok. BOB

2. GRAY – RUBYANLO BERTIE BUTTONS – a nice puppy, well balanced with a pleasing head and expression. Good bone and sufficient coat for age, moved well both ways.BPIB

2. LANGLANDS – KIMBILDONN BLUE BONNETS – similar to winner but was unsettled and not co-operating with her handler.

1. KINGHORN – LINJATO KAISHU ShCM – nice proportioned head with a short muzzle and well cushioned. Nice square body, compact with a good profuse coat. Moved ok BOB

2. BEADLING – SHARLARNA TAILOR MADE AT DEKOBRAS – pleasing head and expression, good bone and feet, showed well, rear movement more positive than front.

2. OWENS – NEWTONWOOD CLASS ACT – HAVANESE – nice broad head , proportioned body, moved ok, presentation could be improved.

1. BENNETT – CATRIGG META – just over six months old, lovely feminine head, dark eyes and a good bite. Nicely set ears good neck and correct bone, level topline and neat feet. She was in good coat for her age, rear movement was positive, front needs to tighten which should do in time. BOB BPIB

1. STEEL AND JEFFERSON – MISTICOLAS MURPHYS LAW AT SHARNAMBER ShCM – typical head, dark eye, pleasing expression. Good length of neck, rear angulation and feet. Moved with drive and purpose.

1. RAINEY – COOLEELA RED ADMIRAL – a sturdy dog, pleasing head and good bite, clean neck and good bone, muscular hindquarters. Moved ok and showed well.BOB

2. RAINEY – KALISPELL VILLANELLE – nice feminine head, scissor bite, nice bone and feet, good rear movement, front needs to tighten BPIB

IRISH SETTER OPEN – (1)

1. McBETH – ROHANMORE CARMEN MACLAUREIN – raw puppy, proportioned head, good bite, and bone, movement a little difficult to assess as she was not co-operating with handler however she is only six month and has time on her side. BOB BPIB

1. QUINN – HUNGARIAN VIZSLA – nice lean head with a strong jaw and good bite, well bodied for her age, she has a good front with neat feet, moved and showed well BAVNSC

2. BALMER – MABANIKA OMEGA – WEIMARANER – a lot to like about this puppy but today was not enjoying her day out. Pleasing head, correct bite, good bone and feet , movement difficult to assess.
