Bolsover & District Canine Society 17th November 2019

Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to Judge at their lovely show. Many thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and sportsmanship on the day. I was delighted with my entry. Many thanks to my 2 Stewards Julie & Elaine. They kept my ring running smoothly.

Bearded Collie Junior (5/6) 1st Stead & Edwards Ramsgrove the Great Oopsie Slate & White Dog 16 months. Handsome, masculine head, broad and flat with a strong muzzle. Well arched neck, good shoulder placement. Moved soundly with good front extension. 2nd Jones Firstprizebears Rio Grande Met Clanwillow Dark Slate Bitch 14 months Another promising youngster. Pretty feminine head, soft kind eye. Nicely balanced throuout, nice length of rib. Nice oval feet, low hocks. Moved soundly. 3rd Edwards Roxilyn Take a Bow Slate Bitch 10 months What a pretty baby. Very feminine head, lovely kind eye. Well proportioned, correct length to height ratio. Level topline. Sound in movement. I will watch her career with interest as she matures.

Bearded Collie Post Graduate (3/3) 1st Robinson’s Thingamebob She’s a Star JW Black & White Bitch 16 months Pretty feminine head with good width of skull. Kind and inquisitive eye. Nicely balanced. Back level with well sprung ribs. Well coated. Moved smoothly and covered the ground well. RBOB 2nd Ramsgrove the Great Oopsie 3rd Calowych Christmas Cracker JW

Bearded Collie Open (2/2) 1st Butler’s Ceilmears Hot to Trot Black & White Bitch 6 years. Feminine head, broad, flat & square. Very nice outline, with good proportions. Firm topline. Good hind angulation. Stifles well bent, low hocks. Sound coming and going, moved around the ring effortlessly with purpose and drive. Pleased to award her BOB. She was also awarded Grp 3, well done. 2nd Morrants Highglade Barachiel JW Slate & White Dog 4 1/2 years. An impressive male, handsome head. Muscular neck onto well laid shoulders. Legs straight, with good bone. Quite a character, clearly enjoying his day out. Preferred the movement of (1)

Border Collie Puppy (1/1) 1st Oliver’s Tambuzi Stryka Blow Black & White Dog 8 months. A handsome youngster. Correct head, still to develop of course. Keen eye, good eye shape and colour. Ears well set and used them well. Well laid shoulders, firm topline, correct tail set. Good front & rear angulation. Moved with drive around the ring, I’m sure he could work all day and then some. A lot to like about this youngster I will keep an eye out for him as he matures. Lovely to see him placed Group 3 in a lovely Puppy Group.

Another handsome youngster. Handsome head. Flat skull, keen dark eye. Ears well set. Hocks well let down. Moved with purpose & drive.

Border Collie Open (3/3) 1st Murfet & Radcliffe’s Arrodare Royal Approval Black & White Dog 19 months. Handsome head, ears well set and used keenly. Lovely expression. Correct straight front, with good bone. Nice tight feet. Correct length to height ratio. Lovely silhouette. Sound coming & going, at one with his handler. BOB and a good Grp 4. 2nd Oliver’s Arrodare Game On Black & White Bitch 4 years (almost) Pretty feminine head, keen dark eye. lovely outline and topline, good depth of chest, well arched ribs and muscular croup. Good tail set, length and carriage. Moved well, sound front and rear. RBOB 3rd Porter’s Kirkwood Jumping Jupiter

I would particularly like to thank the Rough Collie exhibitors for their entries; I was thrilled to receive my entry figures and as a non-Breed Specialist am very grateful. Due to the quality of the exhibits my job on the day wasn’t an easy one as all the exhibits were on par with each other. All the dogs presented to me were well prepared and their temperaments are to be applauded thank you.

Rough Collie Junior (4/6) 1st Blake’s Corydon Pol Roger. Blue Merle Dog. 8 month s. What a lovely puppy, handsome clean head, kind expressive eye, he has well placed ears and has the most appealing expression. A balanced outline with nicely arched neck. His tail is well set and of good length and he has nice rounded bone, neat tight feet. He moved soundly coming and going and moved with confidence. I’m sure this puppy has a bright future and another I will be watching with interest. My BPIB. Well done on your Puppy Group 2. 2nd Selwyn’s Tiganlea Something Blue. Blue Merle Bitch. 11 months. Another lovely puppy good wedge head with enough stop, almond shaped eye giving a kind, soft expression, medium ears well set, well angulated front, good width and depth of chest, well boned, short hocks and good feet. Moved soundly. 3rd Farthing’s Aldreen Illusion in Blue for Didek.

Rough Collie Post Graduate (7/8) 1st Selwyn’s Breckamore Black No Sugar Tri Bitch 2yrs. Pretty, feminine head with excellent proportions, neat ears, lovely expression. Correct length to height, well-muscled hindquarters. Strong hocks. Well coated and of good texture. Sound in movement, well presented. RBOB 2nd Whitaker’s SILUTO MISTERIOUS GIRL Tri Bitch 22 months. Another very feminine head. Sweet expression. Well laid shoulders, nice length of neck, good angulation. Correct topline , firm back. She moved well covering the ground with ease. 3rd Ross’s Danfrebek Dizzy Rascal.

Rough Collie Open (8/11) 1st Pelido David Wear Sable Dog. 6 yrs. Impressive all male. Masculine well balance head of correct planes. Dark almond shaped eye Nice dark eye, good ears carried well. Strong neck into well laid shoulder, he was well balanced throughout with lovely angles & proportions, ample bone and nice oval feet, correct depth of brisket and good ribbing, firm back into well moulded croup and strong hindquarters. He was sound fore & aft with a lovely effortless side gait. Well coated, correct texture and well presented. My BOB. 2nd Mejola Fate and Fortune Blue Merle Dog. 3yrs. Another impressive male, masculine head good foreface, neat ears. Lovely bone and substance throughout, correct length of back. Low set hocks. Moved with purpose and drive. 3rd Flint’s Highnol Flaming Heart.

Polish Lowland Sheepdog Junior (1/1) 1st Haresign’s Caslebarn Queen’B Slate & White Bitch. 14 months. Sweet head, very feminine. Heart shaped ears, well set on head. Strong jaw. Oval feet, tight toes. Level back, strong and well muscled. Moved well around the ring. Lovely temperament. RBOB

Polish Lowland Sheepdog Open (2/3) 1st Haresign’s Ch. Caselbarn Santa’s Surprise ShCm Black & White Dog. 7 yrs. Quite a character.Typical cobby shape. An impressive looking male. Handsome head. Fore and rear angulations correct & well developed with excellent muscletone, moved around the ring with ease and purpose in stride. BOB 2nd Lindley’s Ch. Lindgreave Pon Chipmonk White & Black. Bitch. 2 yrs Feminine head & dark oval eye. Strong neck, shoulders well placed, good spring of rib, level back. Not as settled on the move as the winner, the door banging unsettled her which showed in her movement today.
