An absolute pleasure to judge such a good entry at this well-run show. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.  

Sussex Spaniels 

Puppy (2,1abs) 

1 Davey’s Eald Dancing Queen Promising 10 months, full of life. Lovely head with good stop and correct bite. Good length of rib. In good body for her age. Moved easily. Best Puppy. 

Junior (2) 

1 Hastings’ Bardings Bypolar Bear 

Just right for 13 months. Head is developing nicely with plenty of shape, soft expression and well-placed ears. Well boned through. Balanced in body with good tail set. Rich colour and in good coat. Moved well.  

2 Parkes’ Bardings Bear Star. Sister to the winner, finer made through.  Nice eyes. Well angulated shoulders. Moved well enough.  

 

Post Grad (9,5) 

1 Way’s Eald Village Poacher for Shuvick 

Young male, beginning to look really well and the most positive mover in this class today. Good head with plenty of shape and good stop. Low set ears, strong neck with straight, well boned forelegs. Good length of ribs and depth of chest. Firm over the couplings and in good coat. Reserve Best of Breed.  

2 Davey’s Eald Village Scandal 

Litter sister to the winner, also coming along well. Decent head with typical expression. Straight front, nicely made through with good length of body. Plenty of rear angulation. Carried her tail well. Moved with enthusiasm.  

3 Wakefield’s Eald Village Temptress 

Limit (4,1) 

1 Swietalski’s Sovaroma Relatively Frank with Bowswizzler 

Good headed two-year-old with well set ears and strong neck of correct length. Straight front elbows close to his chest. Showed his positive disposition on the move.  

2 Davey’s Eald Village Gossip 

Well-shaped head with kind expression and low set ears. Good length of body. Not too cooperative today but enjoying the experience! 

3 Parkes’ Barding Bear Star

1 Evans’ Yorkham Rocking Rudolph 

This four year old is looking the part. So good to go over, Lovely head with kind expression and good eyes. Strong neck of good length leads nicely into well angulated shoulders and a straight front. Elbows are nicely tucked in. Well ribbed with good length to his body and correct tail set. He moved well to take Best of Breed and later Reserve Best in Show.  

2 Penneman and Wakefield’s Bel Sh Ch Labry Berry Brezhnev 

Well shaped in head with good stop and brows. Strong neck with good shoulders and front. Well developed body of correct balance with length, width and depth. A good topline produces correct tail set. Moved easily round the ring.  

3 Hipgrave’s Bethryn Night on the Town  

Open Bitch (1) 

1 Wakefield’s Sh Ch/ Bel/ Ned Ch Norriss Northern Cassandra 

This 9-year-old looks so well. Happy and moving well, she has a good head with defined stop and well-placed ears. Straight in front with well proportioned body. Well angulated quarters of good width. Covered the ring well.  

Veteran (3,1) 

1 Wakefield’s Sh Ch / Bel/ Ned Ch Int Sh Ch Julius of Tonispada at Norriss 

Another 9 year old. Well put together with good conformation. Balanced head with good length of muzzle. Long, strong neck with good layback of shoulder. Long in ribs but firm over the loins with good tail set. He moved well for his age. Best Veteran.  

2 Swietalski’s Qunitic Vogue of Bowswizzler 

Different type to my winner, he has well set ears and elbows are nicely tucked in. good width to his ribs and firm over his quarters. He moved steadily here showing good tail action.
