I would like to thank the committee for the kind invitation to judge at this well run show. To my efficient stewards who kept me in good order all day. Also, to the exhibitors for the pleasure of your lovely dogs, some very close decisions.

Cocker Spaniel

Puppy (2,1)

1. Mrs Warrington - Zakova Sunburst

Delightful and quality 11 month old red dog. Thought him to be confident, outgoing and very merry. When stood he displays a compact and balanced outline. Masculine head, with a melting expression, strong clean neck, lovely depth and spring to the ribcage. Holding a firm and level topline when stood and on the move. Nicely angulated fore and aft. Shown in good coat and condition. A happy mover, showing plenty of drive from the rear – BP, unfortunately unable to stay for the puppy group

Junior (2,0)

1. Mrs Warrington - Zakova Sugar Plum

Sturdy yet elegant 13 month old B&T bitch, from a slightly larger mould but feminine and balanced. She has an appealing head, which is well proportioned, lovely dark eye, and low set ear to give a gentle expression. She has a good length of neck flowing well into a firm topline. Having a super spring of rib and development of forechest. Her well boned limbs stand on tight feet. Put down in full bloom and moving with correct footfalls

2. Mr & Mrs Burnet - Charbonnel Stop N’Glow At Charmwen

Another pleasing bitch. 17 month old b/r who has a very shapely profile when stood, she has a lovely flow to her outline. A kind and gentle expression, good length of neck, firm topline, enough depth to the body, not quite the maturity of winner. Well angulated hindquarters, with lovely short hocks. Moving out well, today carrying her tail a fraction higher. Beautifully presented and handled

1. Miss Clifford - Serci After Dark At Shadow Amor Of Chamford (Imp)

2 year old b/r dog, and one who stands out in the crowd, showing himself off with confidence, and in the merry fashion only a cocker can. Liked his size, substance and masculinity. He is so shapely, compact and well balanced. Masculine head, with a lovely kind eye, and gentle expression. Clean neck, firm topline, well developed through the body and standing on well boned limbs. Showing power reach and drive on the move. Immaculately presented – BOB & Group 2

2. Mr & Mrs Taylor - Cublington Lord Baroune

Pleasing 2 year old black dog, having a lovely outline when stood, very balanced combined with being sturdy and compact. From a slightly larger mould than winner, masculine all through, but still retaining the elegance. Handsome head, with dark eyes and well chiselled. Strong clean neck flowing well into a firm topline. He has a super spring of rib and depth, short coupled and well angulated fore and aft. A happy mover not quite as precise today in front as winner, but showing lovely drive. Put down in super coat and condition - RBOB

Oh my, a delightful 8 month old black bitch who showed such maturity in her demeanour and showed like an old pro. She has a clean and shapely outline when stood. So well balanced for one so young. Quality feminine head, elegant and one piece, combined with a tight dark eye to give an intelligent and kind expression. Her neck flowing seamlessly into a firm topline and well set on tail. Good depth and a nice spring to the rib. Strong hindquarters with a good width to the thigh. Strode out on the move and attentive to her handler – BP & RBOB, & Puppy Group 1

2. Mr, Mr & Mrs Durrant - Glenturret Happy Go Lucky

Happy Birthday, a year old today. Black dog who is just right for size and overall balance. Lots to like about this youngster, he is smart and showing all the virtues. Masculine head, dark kind eye, good length of neck, well boned limbs onto tight feet. His body is well developed and ribs carried well back, holding a firm topline. A happy mover, not quite as precise today as winner

Litter sister to winner, has a shapely outline, with substance yet elegant. She is all in proportion and balanced in profile. Pleasing head, well developed through the body, nicely angulated hindquarters. Unfortunately, not being able to be shown in her best coat, as I understand her brother had been snacking on it! An animated mover

1. Mrs Hendry - Blacktoft Ice Ice Baby (AI)

Black bitch nearly 2 years old, moderate all through with nothing overdone, a nice size with enough substance. Kind feminine head, good length to the foreface with a dark eye. Strong clean neck flowing well into a firm topline, which she held both standing and on the move. Brisket well let down, hindquarters showing good width. Moving out true fore and aft whilst holding her outline

2. Mrs Thomas - Lizzlog Moonshine

Attentive 3 year old, liked the overall substance yet elegance of this bitch. Unfortunately, today seem to lose her topline when stood and on the move. She has a lovely moulded head, dark eye and keen expression. Good depth through the body, and well boned limbs. Strong hindquarters which she used to drive around the ring

1. Mr, Mr & Mrs Durrant - Glenturret Colour Me Crazy

Smart 3 year old bitch, showing herself off to advantage. Loved her happy and confident manner. Scoring in overall size, substance and femininity. Quality head piece, long and well moulded, an attentive and alert expression. She is well developed through the body, with pleasing hindquarters showing good width and in good muscletone. Moving with reach and drive and at one with her handler – BOB

2. Mrs Bowen - Clandrift Midnight Galaxy

Sturdy 3 year old bitch, having a little more substance all through than winner. Her head is balanced with good length, just a little stronger, lovely dark eye. She has a lovely flow from nose to tail, with good depth and well boned limbs. Nicely angulated hindquarters, a little out of coat at present. Moving out well

Puppy (9,7)

1. Mr & Mrs Walker - Valentisimo’s Del Star (SWD)

Raw but delightful 7 month old brown bitch. Smart, sturdy and rustic. A little hesitant to start with but soon settled to show herself off. Liked her overall proportions when stood. Feminine head, alert expression. Her strong short neck flowing well into a firmly held level topline. Chest is down to the elbow with a nice spring to the ribs. Straight forelegs onto well rounded feet. Coat having the correct woolly texture. Coming alive on the move, to show her brisk gait, with correct footfalls– BP & Puppy Group 3

2. Mr Cambridge - Cantabrigian Showgirl (Weim)

Another promising puppy, at 7 months all legs at the moment, time will be her friend. Liked her overall size and femininity. Good length to the head, well placed ears with a happy and outgoing personality. She has enough depth for her age and holding a firm topline. Just needing to come together on the move

1. Mr McDonald-Watts - Cochen Hocus Pocus (Field)

Appealing 13 month old black dog. A very smart young dog with many fine attributes. Liked his overall size and balance. He has a well chiselled and noble head, with a lovely dark eye to give a soft and gentle expression. Well proportioned and developed through the body, with super boned limbs and tight feet. Well held topline and tail set. Moving out purposefully and in harmony with his handler. Considered for higher honours.

Post Graduate (4,2)

1. Mr & Mrs Sellwood - Jack Di Montericco (Imp) (Bracco)

Strong and solidly made dog who is coming up 3 years of age. His outline gives the desired squareness to his profile when stood. His head is all male with good length and the correct divergent planes and slight roman nose. His strong neck flowing into a correct and well held topline. Super oval boned limbs and well arched feet. Standing a little wide in front at times. Brisket well let down, well sprung ribs, tail carried a little higher, hindquarters well muscled and strong. Stormed around the ring with a lovely gait, showing super extension and drive

2. Mrs & Miss Walden - Taramount Bicentennial Man (Am Cocker)

Glamorous 4 year old buff dog, shown in lovely coat and condition. Stood he presented a pleasing picture. He has an appealing head, masculine, with a plush muzzle and lovely dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck, firm topline with a well set on tail. Good depth through the body and nicely boned. Moving with good drive

A lovely class, quality right down the line

1. Mr & Mrs Walker - Valentisimo’s Tizi (SWD)

Fabulous 4 year old brown bitch, just loved her. She is smart and stylish but she retains the rustic and workmanlike appearance. When stood she has lovely balance, nothing is overdone or out of place, totally fit for function. Balanced feminine head, eye toning with coat, strong muscular neck, deep through the body, and standing on nicely boned limbs. Strong hindquarters, with a good width to the thigh. Shown in full bloom with a coat of woolly texture and with a good curl. Moving out with precision and at a brisk pace. - BOB & Group 1

2. Mrs Stephenson - Emmroche Borghesa At Timtaurn (Lagotto)

Another cracking bitch, and in fine fettle at 7 years old. She certainly made her presence felt and showing all the virtues. She is of a nice size, correct amount of substance and feminine all through. Thought her to be well proportioned with a good length of leg and the desired squareness to the outline. She has a lovely head and expression, cheeky and full of intelligence. Robust yet having the desired narrowness through the body with correctly angulated hindquarters. Coat has a good curl. Moving positive and true - RBOB

Lovely yellow bitch just shy of a year. She has such an appealing head, so feminine and pretty, being well proportioned, with a good length to the foreface, kind and intelligent expression. Clean through the neck, good depth with the correct barrel rib and carrying the right amount of weight, well boned limbs, a fraction longer in loin, well developed hindquarters. Moving with purpose and drive.

2. Mr & Mrs Barnes - Gwendariff Lets Look At Me (I Setter)

Elegant 8 month old bitch, very much a baby but everything is in the right place. Delightful head and expression so full of quality. Long and graceful neck, flowing into a well held slightly sloping topline with a well set on tail. She has substance through the body yet retaining the elegance. Just needing to tighten a little, but a happy animated mover

Shapely 13 month old B&W bitch. She is of a nice size and feminine all through. Having good overall balance when stood. Her head is well proportioned with a lovely dark eye and kind expression. Good length of neck flowing well into a firm topline. Still needing to develop a little more through her middle piece. Well boned limbs and tight feet. Moving out true and positively

2. Mr & Mrs Horler - Hernwood Jack O’Lantern By Rackens (Gordon)

15 month old dog, who had decided by this point to play the fool. When stood giving the impression of strength and power, but nothing is overdone. Masculine deep head, with a good length to the foreface, lovely dark mischievous eye. Good length of neck, enough depth to the brisket for his age, lovely bone, and well arched feet. Not quite as coordinated as winner today, but showed good drive

1. Mr & Mrs Woodhams - Glynell Jiffy (WSS)

Just loved this happy and outgoing 3 year old dog, who showed himself off to advantage. When stood he presents a well balanced and typical outline. Handsome chiselled head, with that willing to please look about him. Good length of neck, brisket is well let down, legs nicely boned. Pleasing hindquarters with a well bent stifle and width of thigh. A pleasure to watch on the move, showing with enthusiasm and pizzazz – Best AV, also shortlisted in the group

2. Credland & Butcher - Carnlochan Jack Frost (H Vizsla)

Smart 2 year old dog, who has a pleasing outline on the stack, a no nonsense fit for function construction. He has a masculine head, with an alert expression. His slightly arched neck flowing well into a firm topline. Chest is down to the elbow, with well boned limbs onto tight feet. Shown in good muscle tone and moving out true

3. Mrs Gayler - Carolake Remember Me JW (Golden Ret)

6 year old dog who has a presence about him, being confident and happy. He is a fraction longer in the body but still shows good overall balance to his outline. Handsome head, with a lovely dark eye and well chiselled. Holding a firm topline both standing and on the move. His body is well developed with good depth. Liked his hindquarters which have a well bent stifle and width. Moving out with drive and style – Res Best AV

Well balanced 2 year old dog. A medium sized dog with good overall balance. Kind and masculine head, wedge shaped, well placed and used ears, eye toning with the coat. Strong neck, flowing into a level topline, good depth to the ribcage. Shown in good coat and condition. Moving with good reach and drive

Not putting a foot wrong to take the group, moving beautifully and well handled. She possessed that elusive sparkle to win the group

Shown in good coat and condition

Quality 5 year old. Impressed by this bitch she has lovely balance and construction. An appealing head, wedge shaped, lovely almond shaped eye, with an alert and attentive expression. Well developed through the body with well boned limbs and tight feet. Harmonious angles front and back. Shown in full double coat, moving out true and soundly

Super quality yellow bitch and at just 7 months old showing great maturity and showmanship. When stood she presents a pleasing outline, so very balanced and unexaggerated. She has a good length to the leg and stands fore square. Having a lovely gentle and intelligent expression, showing devotion to her handler. Strong clean neck giving a lovely flow from nose to tail. Well developed through the body, and short coupled. Positive and both in harmony on the move

Good length of neck flowing nicely into a firmly held topline. Having pleasing depth for her age and well sprung ribs. Standing on well boned legs and neat feet. A happy and enthusiastic mover

Much to like about this 11 month old bitch. She shows good overall balance when stood. She has such a pretty feminine head, with a lovely dark round eye giving such a thoughtful and intelligent expression. Neck of good length with a firm level topline. She is maturing nicely into her frame, well boned limbs and tight compact feet. Hindquarters show moderate bend of stifle with lovely muscle tone. Moving out well and in harmony with her handler – BP & Puppy Group 3

Lovely 14 month old bitch, one who shows herself off with confidence and style. She has a balanced profile when stood, having strength yet very feminine. She has an appealing head, flat skull, length to the foreface and quizzical and attentive dark round eyes. She has a natural flow, nothing is exaggerated. Good depth to the brisket, and fill in of forechest. Firm well held topline with strong nicely angulated hindquarters. Liked her free and positive action on the move

What a stallion of a dog, this 4 year old liver nose has the desired strength and substance, but he is also agile and fit. Mature and solid all through. When stood he has a clean and balanced outline with lovely body lines. Handsome and masculine head, strength without being overdone, attentive expression. Lovely depth through to the brisket, strong well boned limbs and tight compact feet. Holding a firm topline both standing and on the move. Strong and muscular hindquarters. Working well with his handler to show off his ‘free and easy’ movement - BOB

Oh my what a cracker, just loved this 3 year old bitch, wish I had more first place cards! Strength and femininity and oh so smart. Most feminine of head, with a lovely broad flat skull, good length to the foreface and depth to the pm in, and deep in the ribcage, harmonious angulation fore and aft and holds a firm topline. Muscular hindquarters with a good width of thigh. Lovely to watch on the move, precise and powerful - RBOB
