Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge and to the exhibitors for their entries, fortunately  the weather was kind on the day and the show was managed efficiently, well done to all.

Japanese Shiba Inu

SY

1st. Mr. & Mrs. Mothersdale’s Amivike’s I am Raven.

A 20-month-old white bitch, she has a well-balanced outline, head of the correct shape with a broad flat skull, eyes of the correct shape and the correct bite. Neck arched and well set on, sloping shoulders and a dep brisket, ribs carried well back and a short strong loin and a level back. She moved well coming and going and had a light quick gait in profile, BOB.

PG

1st. Mr. & Mrs. Mothersdale’s Amivike’s Firecracker.

A 3-year-old red bitch balanced and in proportion, sturdy throughout, head of the correct proportions, dark eyes and ears well set on, strong neck, level back and a deep chest, front and rear angulation correct for the breed. Her movement was lively being sound and true.

2nd. Miss Marriott’s Amivike’s Mia Magic at Jarshimar.

A 3-year-old red bitch, not as substantial as the first placed bitch and longer cast, I would have preferred a stronger muzzle. Neck well set on, sloping shoulders, level back and a deep chest. Ribs correctly sprung, rear quarters showing a slight bend of stifle and she moved with enthusiasm.

Open (3)2

1st. Mr. & Mrs. Mothersdale’s Amivike’s Wild as the Wind.

A 10-year-old Red Bitch, showing correct type being balanced and in proportion, head of the correct proportions, ears well set on and the correct bite. Neck strong, shoulders sloping and a deep chest, level back, showing the correct bend of stifle and correct feet, she moved well for her age and deserved to win this class.

2nd. Miss Marriott’s Shikashino Black Roxs at Jarshimar.

A 6-year-old Red Male, he seemed distracted today and didn’t show himself or move as well as I am sure he can. I would prefer more overall substance and depth of brisket. His movement was erratic and difficult to assess.

Miniature Schnauzer

SY (2)1

1st. Mesdames Austin & Mather’s Hope Van Dyne at Pajanzer.

A 14-month-old pepper and salt bitch, very smart and balanced in outline, ears correctly set-on, dark eyes and the correct bite and dentition. A slightly arched neck and well laid shoulders, deep chest and well sprung ribs, back straight and sloping. Her movement was sound and she showed reach and drive in profile, BOB.

Shih Tzu

Puppy (4)1

1st. Miss Everall’s Wharfeview She’s eye Candy.

An 8-month-old bitch, very pretty and feminine throughout, head round and a square short muzzle, dark eyes and well laid shoulders. Correct length of body and rear quarters correct. Her movement was a little unsettled and difficult to assess but I think she is promising and feel that when she settles and matures, she will be a good example of the breed, Best Puppy.

2nd. Mr. Provost’s Paliden Shooting Star.

A 10-month-old male and at that raw stage at the moment and he can only improve with age and maturity, I just preferred the overall femininity and breed type of the 1st placed bitch in this class.

PG (5)2

1st. Mr. Provost’s Paliden Rockstar.

A 2-year-old male, compact outline but correct proportions for the breed, head broad and round, ears well set, dark round eyes and the correct bite. Strong arched neck, well laid shoulders, deep brisket and a level back. Strong rear quarters and he moved with reach and drive.

2nd. Miss Everall’s Buttons Dream a Dream.

A 2 ½ year old male, longer cast than the first placed male but still showing the correct outline for the breed, I preferred the stronger muzzle of the first placed male. Strong neck, well laid shoulders and a deep chest, ribs carried well back, level back and strong rear quarters, his movement was sound and true.

Open (2)1

1st. Miss Everall’s Wharfeview Kissy Suzuki.

A 2-year-old solid gold bitch, feminine throughout but still substantial and strong, skull rounded, ears well set and dark eyes, strong arched neck, well laid shoulders and a deep brisket. Well sprung ribcage, level back and strong rear quarters, well carried tail and her movement was typical being sound and true, she showed reach and drive in profile, I liked the overall package and was pleased to award her BOB.

1st. Johnson, Jacobs and Johnson’s Willowthorn’s Dream Star, (Shetland Sheepdog).

A 10-month-old bitch, she has a well-balanced outline being feminine throughout but has substance, very pretty head refined and elegant, ears well set and carried correctly, dark eyes and the correct bite. Neck of the correct length, well laid-back shoulders, deep chest, ribs well sprung, level back, strong rear quarters and nicely angulated stifles, feet correct, her coat was of the correct texture, clean and well presented, her movement was sound and true coming and going and she showed reach and drive in profile, very pleased to award her first in a class of quality exhibits.

2nd. Mrs. Trow & Jowsey’s Winterwell Stoney Trail, (German Shorthaired Pointer).

A 6-month-old bitch showing excellent breed type, being balanced and in proportion, feminine but strong and substantial throughout, head and skull of the correct proportions, dark eyes and well-set ears. Strong muzzle and the correct bite and dentition, slightly arched elegant neck, well laid shoulders, deep chest, well sprung ribcage and ribs carried well back, strong loin. Strong rear quarters and well bent stifles, feet compact with well arched toes, her movement was sound and true with reach and drive in profile, a very promising puppy.

Post Graduate Stakes (19)7

1st. Mrs. R Brady’s Classicus Azim for Bordercot, (Saluki).

An 18-month-old male, showing excellent breed type, balanced and in proportion, substantial but graceful as asked for in the standard, he has a sound temperament, showing confidence and maturity for his age. Head long and narrow, ears correct and well set, dark eyes and the correct bite and dentition. He has a long strong neck, well laid shoulders, deep chest, correct topline and rear quarters with stifles being moderately bent and low set hocks. He moved soundly and effortlessly around the ring showing reach and drive, very promising and I am sure he has a bright future ahead, pleased to hear that he was awarded reserve Best In Show.

2nd. Lancashire & O’Donnell’s Drishaun Star Among Lilies (Afghan).

A 15-month-old male, being masculine throughout showing excellent breed type, head of the correct proportions with a long skull and foreface, low set ears, dark eyes and the correct bite. Long strong neck, shoulders well laid back and long upper arms, deep chest with correct spring of rib, ribcage carried well back and strong loin. Strong rear quarters with well bent stifles, coat of the correct texture and in good condition, well presented, sound temperament. He moved effortlessly showing great reach and drive.
