I thoroughly enjoyed judging these breeds. Thank you to the exhibitors. All were well turned out and temperaments were excellent. What a pity the only down side was the floor being slippery in places. This seemed to upset some of the dogs when moving. Thus this affected some of my placings.

English Springer Spaniels;

Junior;

1) Weymans PuffingTanqueray. 13 month old bitch with a pleasing head profile and width to skull. Good length to neck with a likeable shoulder placement. Level topline supporting a well sprung ribcage, not too deep. Good turn of stifle along with a true tailset and carriage. Looked very good standing and on the move. BOB

2) Eastwood & Truemans Eastfella Rock my World. 8 month old with a good stop and length of muzzle. Topline good with a ribcage coming along but just needs a tad more depth. Front & rear angulation good. Moved well.

3) Eastwood & Truemans Eastfella Next Step

Post Grad;

1) Same as Junior

2) Ainsley & Nicklin Daenerys Winds of Winter. Smaller and shorter coupled than 1. Good head and expression with just enough front angulation. Positive turn of stifle  with compact feet. Didn’t have as good a movement of 1

Open;

1) Glendinning &Booles Plaiglen Beaters Btrue. Good looking dog with ample bone. Correct dark eye and strong in neck, no throatiness evident. Topline level with a well developed ribcage. Firm rear quarters with a good turn of stifle. Moved well. RBOB.

2) Wildsmith & Browns Trimere Tickle Me Fancy. Slightly smaller bitch that had many of the attributes of the class winner. Just preferred the head of 1. Moved true front and rear.

3) Wallis & Levene Petranella The Real Deal Of Pendarlow

Golden Retrievers;

Junior;

1) Collis Merimoor Outlander at Dorwinion. A 13month old boy very good in head, a positive stop with good pigmentation and a dark eye. Clean reach of neck on well laid shoulders. His body had a deep, well sprung ribcage. Firm muscular hind quarters with  true turn of stifle and well let down hocks. A dense coat finished the overall look. Nothing overdone with this lad. Moved very well. RBOB

2) Russells Rosinante Mirabelle. Very pretty bitch with a true feminine look. Liked her front & rear angulation. Good in body and coupling. Carrying enough bone. Coat not in best fettle. Looked good on the move.

3) Russells Rosinante Crystal Clear

Post Grad;

1) Reeves Rheincroft Done’N Dusted. This lad caught my eye as soon as came into the ring. Lovely balanced head and a dark eye. Nothing coarse about it. Strong firm neck leading to a well made body that had plenty of heart room in a well sprung ribcage. True in front and rear angulation, the latter having a firm muscletone. Good tailset and carriage. Looked a picture standing and on the move. BOB

2) Russells Rosinante Mirabelle. Same as Junior.

3) Russells Rosinante Crystal Clear

Open;

1) Collis Mermoor Waterbouy at Dorwinion This boy was a little strong in head for my taste. Just enough neck length, with ample front angulation. Topline good ,supporting deep ribs. His muscular rear quarters came into play when in flight. Had plenty of drive.Won the class on his movement.

2) Vicars Catcombe Calico at Peersbrooke JW. Sweet looking bitch. Not overdone in any way. Had just enough depth of rib and a short coupling. Good turn of stifle. Would liked to have seen a tad more front angulation. Good on the move.

3) Reeves Rheincroft Over Easy JW

Cocker Spaniels;

Junior;

1) Sewells Kerriglow Dream Again for Quattrozampe. Cracking 6month old black. Balanced throughout. Excelled in head and neck. Good sloping shoulders and a level topline to match. Turn of stifle good and hocks not too long. Correct tailset. He just needs to mature, but has time on his side.  Moved very well with drive. BP & RBOB.

2) Pearce-Gudgers Glowhill Silversmith for Pearkim. Well constructed 13 mth boy. Head has a well developed skull and a positive  stop. Body has width and depth and a well sprung ribcage. In good coat. Just lacked drive on the move .

3) Corcorans Troverothway  Upon A Star

Post Grad;

1) Cliffords Serci After Dark at Shadow Amor of Chamsford (Imp Srb). Pleasant head with a dark eye, good stop and correct length of muzzle. Well bodied, with strong boned legs with firm tight feet. Moved true front and rear, but topline dipped a little on the move.

2) Corcorans Troverothway Sinatra. Overall good looking lad. Ears set low and well covered. Good front and rear quarters. Smart when standing, but overall movement let him down today.

Open;

1) Grays Graysaxon Treasured Gift with Benchmark Handsome looking chap. Clean, tidy neck, set on good shoulders. Nothing wrong with his body construction or muscletone. Had enough turn of stifle and short hocks. Firm tight feet. A lively, well set tail finished the picture. Moved very well covering the ground with ease. I couldn’t believe how old he was, but a well deserved BOB

2) Sewells  Wintonia Hidden Gem at Quattrozampe. Another fine example. Good in body and quarters. Topline good, so was his spring of rib. Well presented, but just preferred the head of the class winner. Another one that moved true all round.

3) Pearce-Gudgers.
