Another well run show by David Knights and team. Pleasure to judge this show again. Apologies for the lateness of this critique, which was written at the time but inadvertently not sent.
Leonberger Junior. 1 Debbollinby Kandyman TAF. Well made young dog. Strong but balanced head of correct proportions. Good moderately tapered muzzle with strength and good underjaw. Correct oval eye of good colour. Pleasing typical nasal shape. Strong neck into good shoulders. Ok front but needs to deepen in chest. Nice topline with good broad strong loin. Good hindquarters and good tail of correct set and length. Moved well. 2. Vanitza Delicious Candy At Loevanna (IMP BGR). Another quality Leonberger. Good for size. Another with pleasing head piece. Good neck and shoulder but not quite the front assembly of the first placed dog. Correct topline. Good hindquarters of correct amount of angulation. Good coat. Moved well. 3. Bavaruki Temo Lavato
Leonberger PG. 1. Cleon Rolf Wagsworth. Rather upstanding quality male. Not so sure of himself today and needs some more time. Lovely head an expression. Good overall shape. Moved well both ways and with the most wonderful side gait.
Leonberger. Open. Two nice males. 1. Debbollinby Just Kruzin’ Into Kitarn JW. Really nice male of quality. Very male but not overdone. Super head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Good front with excellent depth of chest , good forechest and Correct topline. Super bone and feet with good strong firm pasterns with no weakness. Moved well both ways. 2. Leosrus We Will Remember For Kalizmar. Did not wait for full critique but he is a very pleasing dog of good proportions with a quality head. Moved well but not the front of the first placed dog.
Newfoundland. Puppy. Two youngsters of very different type. 1. Mayoss Scarlett O’hara. Much more mature than the second dog. Super broad skull and strong short muzzle. Neat small dark eye., good ear size and well set back. Good front assembly with excellent bone and typical Newfoundland foot. Nice topline. Well muscled HQ. Moved well. 2. Zentaur Drop It Like Its Hot For Qialt (AI). Another of good make and shape just not as mature as 1 and really needs to drop into herself and grow. Needs time. Very pleasing head. Moved well.
Newfoundland.Yearling. 1. Mayosea I’m A Hero At Wuzibears. Nice young male with lots to like about him. Excels in head and expression. Good bone and feet. Nice body , with the best of hind quarters. Moved well. 2. Rodiveco Red Rum. Another decent dog with much to like. Longer cast than 1 and not so positive behind today.
Newfoundland. PG. 1. Reonato Dragon Star. Pretty Landseer bitch. Overall of high quality. Lovely overall shape. Pleasing head although to be hypercritical I would like a little more breadth of skull. Moved well,
Newfoundland.Open. 1. King of Helluland Keep Distance At Larkharbour. Good bitch of super type. Lovely make and shape and all of a piece. Very pleasing head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Pleasing front with good bone and feet. Moved well in all directions. Very sound. BOB. 2. Reonato Dragon Princess. Although stood second many of the similar attributes apply. Pleasing silhouette. Excellent for substance. Moved soundly in all directions, just preferred the overall finish of 1.
Lancashire Heeler. PG. 1. Bellsmond Dakota. Promising youngster who wasn’t so happy on the table and needs a little time to settle. However was able to go over sufficiently for evaluation. Has a very nice head with good flat skull and correct ear placement. Correct overall head proportions. Nice eye shape and colour. Pleasing front assembly. Good bone and decent feet. Well sprung. Good hindquarters. Pulled himself together on the floor quite nicely and moved well and with drive. Sound.
Lancashire Heeler. Limit. 1 Trogwood Rio Round Lankeela. Quality bitch of good proportions. Nice head shape although needs to use her ears a little better. Good front. Correct length of neck with well laid shoulder. Well ribbed up and nice short coupling. Just could do with a slightly stronger topline. Moved well.
Lancashire Heeler. Open. 1 Ch Ganesblume Enchantress JW ShCM. Really lovely quality bitch and worthy of her crown. Nice for size and overall proportion. Lovely head and expression with correct size and set of ears. Keen almond shaped eye. Good neck and shoulder. Good level topline, which is retained on the move. Nice high tail set. Well muscled hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Super hard condition and lovely coat texture and rich colour. 2. Lankeela Tracy’s Quite. Another very nice bitch, not belittled by coming second. Certainly doesn’t show her age. Good head proportions and nice expression. Good length of neck and well laid shoulder. Decent front. Good topline, but slightly longer in loin and not so well angulated as the first placed dog. 3. Lankeela Tracy’s Quest.
St Bernard. Open. 1. Lazeybears Adonis. Upstanding quality male. Pleasing large, head of good circumference. Strong short muzzle. Good depth to head. Decent long neck of strength into good shoulders. Well developed dewlap. Good strong muscular loin. Well developed HQ. Correct croup. Super bone. Moved well.
Border Terrier. Puppy. 1. Bimandi’s Banana Smothie. Promising quality pup. Lovely overall shape and good for size. Typical head and expression, although to be critical I would prefer a slightly smaller ear. Good neck and shoulder. Nice front. Good pelt. Ribs carried well back. Racy HQ. Moved well. 2. Southash KissMe Kate. Another nice specimen. Feminine in head without loss of strength. Good eye and ear. Would prefer a little more length of neck. Good body and HQ. Decent jacket. Moved well.

Border Terrier. PG.1. Goxfell Reivers Rose. Very typical otter head. Nice neck and shoulder. Good front. In super jacket and best pelt of the day. Nice for size, just falls away slightly at the croup which distracts. Moved ok although could be more positive behind.
Border Terrier. Limit. 1. Evajays Treasure. Nice overall make and shape. Good head and body proportions. Good front and correct HQ. Just a little heavy for a bitch in my opinion. Moved with drive although could be tidier behind. 2. Lady Fiona Mctarry At Thistlewhiss. Nice head. Pleasing outline. Good bone and feet. Not in the best jacket. Moved ok with nice front action but could be more positive behind. 3. Emblehope Butter Ball At Leysh
Border Terrier. Open. 1. Hunted Thistle At Thistlewhiss. 8 year old Blue/Tan. Typical head with good eye and ear. Good overall size. Correct amount of neck into well placed shoulders. Nice deep, narrow, long body. Good HQ. Moving well for her age but just losing her topline.
WHWT. Junior .1. Inspire Dream A Little Dream. Six and a half months old, and very much the raw baby. Despite the rawness there is lots to like and the promise of a quality mature Westie. Very typical in head with super pigmentation. Enough neck into good shoulders. Needs to drop into herself and fill out. Good topline and pleasing tail set. In decent textured jacket. Moved soundly.
WHWT. PG. Smash Strong For Victory (SWE). Rather smart Westie. Very good to go over, with super head of correct proportions and lovely dark eye. Really super length of neck into the best of shoulders. Good hindquarters. Excellent jacket. Moved well with drive. WHWT.
Open. 1. Lynnsto Pandora’s Box. Pleasing head. Nice size. Good neck and shoulder. Could be neater in front. Ok topline. Good hindquarters. Moved well although could be a fraction tidier on the go away. 2. Braxquin Forget Me Not. Another nicely headed one. In good hard condition. Nice for size and shape but preferred the front assembly on 1.
