Many thanks to the Secretary and committee for their kind invitation to judge this show and to my superb stewards who kept everything in good order. But chief thanks to the exhibitors who braved some awful weather to support the society’s first Limited Show for many years. There was a nice and friendly atmosphere on the day and lovely dogs to go over.

Upstanding, dignified 10-month Russian Toy dog puppy that I really liked; in proportion, well balanced, and presented a picture of leanness strength and activity. Strong arched neck carried high leading to well-laid slightly sloping shoulders. Large round eyes full of intelligence and alertness. Ears large and erect. Good and correctly moderate angulation front and rear. Although alone, strong mover in the class too, compact feet close and with plenty of positive drive, keeping his topline. Kept his energy in a strong adult group, but his show performance and particularly his movement waned sadly in the puppy group. BP BoB G3 PG2

1. Bartlett; Just Angel Dalia @ Gustafski (IMP LAT)

Smart Russian Toy long coat bitch at just over15 months. Head correctly proportioned, small and balanced. Correct eye, large and round. Correct, large ears. Long lean neck, well-placed shoulders. Good parallel front, fine bone. Correct moderate angulation front and rear suitably wider, Moved out positively. Nice example but I preferred the overall outline of the dog in the previous class today.

Although standing alone he caught my eye immediately and did not disappoint at any stage of the competition . Symmetrical, balanced and and in complete proportion. Alert expression and made good use of his ears. Flat skull, clean cheeks merging smoothly into a blunt muzzle. And what a mover when he settled,-covered the ground with minimum effort BP BoB G3 PG1 RBPIS

Balanced and well put together 3-year-old bitch although carrying a shade too much weight I felt. Clean outline however, and in proportion. Correct head and ears, making plenty of use of his ears dropping nicely forward! Everything else was in the right place too. Moved well

1.King; Studholme Kiss Again Of Griswold. Compact, short-coupled and in truly firm condition. Keen, alert expression – correct skull to muzzle proportions and ears nicely erect. Full of energy and demanded notice. Clean, short neck and nicely sloping shoulders. Kept her well-balanced structure on the move, which was effortless and just covered every inch of space. BoB G1

1. Bartlett; American Miracle Zen@ Gustafski JCAB. In top condition, smart and well balanced. Excellent coat and at one with his handler. Broad , flat skull, good ear set and carriage. Good angulation front and rear. Level back, deep chest and belly nicely tucked. Tight feet, well knuckled. Again, a quick and driving movement. Strong in the challenge. BoB G2

Pleasing and biddable expression, flat cheeks and well-defined stop. Well balanced and short coupled. Correct head eye and ear set. Well laid back shoulders leading to a level topline. Deep chest of good width. Good angulation. Moved soundly after initial reticence. BoB G4

Pleasing expression, sturdy and compact. lovely dark eye and ear set – medium and slightly rounded, well-arched neck, a little heavy on the correct broad shoulders. Good bone, good depth of chest, balanced front and correct moderate angulation. BoB

1. Bartlett; Kazariastar’s Dream Girl @ Gustafski . Toy Poodle of correct size. Balanced and looking nicely elegant Good head, mouth and ears. Ample depth and forechest. Powerful rear quarters showing good, light drive on the move. Tight and well cushioned feet. Good angulation. BoB BP PG2

8-month-old bitch puppy. Pleasing and sweet head and expression, nicely chiselled cheeks. Used her correct ears well. Good rear angulation, nice narrow and long feet, good front. Moved well, flowing and with enough drive. BP PG2

Presented in lovely condition. Good nicely rounded head with keen and alert expression, good reach of neck sloping nicely, correct length of athletic body, broad and deep chest, balanced front and back. Moved really well using hindquarters to drive forward BoB G2

2. Dale; Sigyns Lady Rowena

Pleasing 4-year-old bitch slightly smaller than 1 but of - correct type and with typical head and expression. Carried and used her ears correctly. Good angulation front and rea, well let down and correct hocks. Movement was ok but not as confident as 1

At 7 months, stood proud and alert – she was full to the brim in character. Loved her foxy head and appealing expression. Clean cut, good eye and erect ear set, good short neck into well set shoulders. Well ribbed chest. Well-bodied overall and medium front and rear angulation. Moved well. BP PG4

Smart and showy bitch at 21 months. Head correctly proportioned and balanced. Correct eye, neck well-placed into shoulders. Good well ribbed and well sprung. Correct angulation front and medium to the rear, well-feathered hocks. Correct tail and carriage. Stood square and moved out briskly, purposefully and true BoB G1

2. Jones; Altinas Sidney At Mariajon

Correct size dog, lovely head, skull broad and flat, correct ears, eyes, front and rear placement. Correct short neck, well laid shoulders and well-muscled. Compact, cat like feet. Moved well too, but 1 had the overall edge today.

1. Niven- Lewis; Puplicity’s Golder Girl From Rostella. 7-month Havanese girl who just oozed appeal and demanded to be noticed. Smart, compact, dignified and feminine. Correct head of good shape with large, dark and expressive almond shaped eyes. Strong medium neck set on well-laid-back shoulders, small, tight hare feet. Her movement in the class and in the adult group was free, buoyant but certainly very erratic to say the least. However, she held her topline beautifully on the move when she finally settled later in the puppy group, moved really well, kept tight and close to her handler and stood out clearly to a well-deserved first in that group. Strongly made 17-month young bitch with a nice strong head with the kindest of expressions, dark almond shaped eyes and triangular ears. Strong muscular neck and well-placed shoulders . Has good outline and bushy tailset. Strong, well-muscled hindquarters. Good bone and moved well with a nice long stride. BoB G2

Attractive, elegant and compact bitch of just over two years, standing four square, balanced, straight and proud in profile. Correct head proportions eye and ear-set. Correct and level top-line held well on the move. Well placed shoulders, and strong, flowing rear angulation used to drive herself around the ring. BoB G1

2. Plant Inkomo Perfect Illusion For Shadann ShCM VW.

An 8-year-old dog, well balanced and powerful. Strongly built and masculine from nose to tail, correct shaped head, broad and large strong neck into deep body, well angulated all round. Level top- line. Muscled, strong boned and moved well when he settled. BV RBVIS

Bullmastiff with masculine head, nicely moulded, wrinkled correctly, good reach of neck leading into well laid muscular and sloping shoulders. Wide and deep chest. . Good bone and nice round and tight feet. Moderate stifles, hocks moderately bent. Moved soundly, BoB G3

Nicely built dog of just over three years, a little taller than 1 however, standing four square, straight and proud in profile. Correct eye and ear-set. Correct top-line. Muscling developing on rear quarters, but still showing good drive on the move. Correct coat. Thick and well-padded feet. BP PG1

Good front, nice bone, good ribs, well sprung. Correct angulation front and rear, short lower thighs. Correct tail and carriage, slightly curved. Stood square and moved out well, lovely stride. Long deep brisket, balanced front and back. Moved really well, effortless and flowing using hindquarters to drive forward. BoB G2

Head correctly proportioned and balanced on this good-looking dog. Correct eye, good neck arched nicely, well-placed and laid-back shoulders. Good front, nice bone, Correct angulation front and rear, well-bent stifles and low hocks. Correct tail and carriage. Stood square and moved out with long strides. Could easily have been awarded best of breed too

Stood proud and alert. I just loved her head and appealing expression. Clean cut, good eye and ear set, good reach of neck and plenty of bone. Good depth of chest. Well-bodied and good front and rear angulation. Moved really well, free and easy drive and with purpose – front and hindlegs moved straight and true. I have to say that I could have awarded best of breed to either of these exhibits, I just preferred the overall outline, conformation and movement of the bitch on the day BoB G1 RBIS

Rough Collie of 7 months. So much to like about this bitch. Clean lines to the head and a lovely expression. Good lay of shoulders, sloping and well angulated. Moved nicely too despite her initial shyness.

2. Perkins; Kimapa Kwarta Kustard.

At 6 months, petite bitch. Just a little shy and reticent today which I am sure will improve with age and experience. She moved ok though.

81/2 y o male. Alert, gentle and intelligent expression. Lovely to go over. Shoulders well laid back. Good angulation. Correct narrow feet. Moved well, covering the ground.
