Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla Association

Firstly, I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for giving me the honour of judging the Special Awards classes at your show. Also, I would like to thank all the exhibitors for entering under me and for the sporting way which they accepted my decisions.

Special Awards

Junior (3,2a)

1st Upton’s Tragus Fox Angel – 14 months old balanced bitch of medium size and correct harsh wire coat. Excellent head with moderate stop and good length of muzzle, moderate length of neck into well laid back shoulders, deep chested reaching to elbows, moderate bend of stifle, gave handler a hard time on the move but moves soundly but just needs to tighten in rear.

Post Graduate (7,25)

1st Aldridge’s Gwaithmaes Aoife – Bitch of correct size but just would prefer a bit more bone, correct head proportions with good furnishings, correct eye shape and colour harmonizing with the coat, rounded v shape ear which fitted close to the cheeks, moderate length of neck, deep chested, well sprung ribs, well developed stifle, moved with purpose and drive.

2nd Clymer’s Phantomfuror Guava – Larger framed dog who gave his handler a hard time, correct coat, good head proportions and eye and ear shape, correct furnishings, deep chested, moderate bend of stifle, moved well once settled.

Open (8,3a)

1st Collier’s Belatarr North By Northwest ShCM – Larger framed dog that has bone and substance but still balanced throughout, masculine head and expression, excellent harsh wire coat with correct undercoat, well muscled, moderate length of neck into well laid back shoulders, deep chested to elbows, straight front leading to tight arched toes, good spring of rib, well muscled rear end which once he settled he used to move round the ring. Excellent mover.

2nd Collier’s Sh Ch Belatarr Mahamlia Jackson ShCM – Well up to size bitch but has a balanced outline, once again had a harsh wire coat and good furnishings, feminine head and expression with eye and nose colour harmonizing with her coat, moderate length of neck into well laid back shoulders, deep chested to elbows, straight front, good spring of rib, well muscled rear end, preferred the tighter feet on first, moved with purpose and drive.
