CHESAPEAKE BAY RETRIEVER

Puppy (2,0a)

1st Mahon, Hunns & Newton’s Arnac Bay Huron at Bergelle - Nine month old balanced dog in excellent coat with good oily texture. He has a masculine broad head and expression, with well set ears, deep chested, straight front leading to correct size feet, medium length slightly arched neck into well laid-back shoulders, correct body proportions strong well muscled hindquarters for a young dog, moved soundly, free and effortlessly in all directions which won him this class over I see now his sister who was second. BOB & BP & pleased to hear PG2

2nd Mayhew's Arnac Bay Hebe - Litter sister to my first and what a credit to the breeder. Similar remarks apply to 1st but a feminine version. For me the bitch was carrying a bit too much weight which affected her on the move and I just preferred the texture of the brothers coat. RBOB

I shall watch both these dogs show careers with interest as I am sure they both will have a bright future.

Post Graduate (1,0a)

1st Smith’s Oakmarsh Elkton - Dog with a masculine broad head and expression with well set ears, good strong neck leading to a good lay of shoulder, good depth of chest, well proportion body, well sprung ribs, moderate bend stifle, today he was not in his best coat, correct top line and moved soundly with purpose.

Open (4,2a)

1st Herbert, Coppin & Davies-Jones’ Dallandor Jocasta - Bitch who presented a pleasing outline, feminine head showing correct width to skull, correct depth and width to chest, moderate tuck up, correct bend of stifle, in good coat, moved soundly.

2nd Pont’s Oakmarsh Dancing Diva – Bitch who gave her handler a hard time, pleasing head shape and expression, moderate tuck up and deep chested. Moved soundly once she decided she would settle.
