Llandysul & District Canine Society

Llandysul  Open Show 28th September 2019 

My thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge, the kind hospitality and the gift of wonderful chocolates. Many thanks to Kris Kingsley for stewarding and to exhibitors for their entries and accepting my decisions.  I had some lovely dogs and was pleased with my winners.  Thrilled to see my G1 the Cardi Corgi Ch Bwthyn Headliner JW ShCM go BIS & my BV the Giant Schnauzer Debutante Vom Schloss Ehrenberg Mit Daserbe (imp Deu) ScHM going BVIS thanks to judge David Matthews. Thank you to all my group winners for doing me proud in the ring.  I thoroughly enjoyed my day. 

Working 

Bernese Mountain Dog – O – 2 (1a) 

 

1 – Williams Tinland Pink Sapphire 

Loved this18 mth old bitch she’s full of character. Has a most delightful expression with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, good skull and defined stop.  Medium neck leading into well angulated shoulders.  Loved her shape, compact body, correct topline with a nicely rounded rump, strong quarters.  When she did settle for a short time she moved well, needs some firm handling to get her to move freely. Pleased to award her G3. 

 

AVNSC Working – PG – 3 (0a) 

 

1 – Rushton’s Starrytown Pestadizze For Nereides Newfoundland 

Impressive choc girl who fills the eye, so well balanced throughout. Broad head with a short muzzle, good depth of chest, well off for bone and nice tight elbows, webbed feet. Good topline with plenty of breadth over the loin, strong well muscled quarters,.  Correct tailset carried well, moved freely around the ring, immaculate presentation completed the picture. Pleased to award her BAVNSC & WG1 

 

2 – Morgan’s Korifey Opium Dobermann 

Loved this girl so well put together, typical head with a lovely expression, Long neck, correct shoulder angulation, short firm back and a good topline. Strong quarters and well balanced throughout. She moved ok but needed a bigger ring to get into her stride, 

 

3 – William’s Newfords Whiskey Lulluby Dobermann

Mature bitch nicely put together, She has a lovely head with good proportions, expressive eyes.  Good length of neck leading into nicely angulated shoulders. Good topline held well on the move. Strong rearend, good hocks.  Moved well

1 - Baynton’s Alfie Bangwood (Imp CZE) - Entlebucher Mountain Dog 

First time I have judged one of these and this 5yr old boy filled the standard very nicely. Super head, strong body with a deep chest and broad loin. Correct proportions with shorter legs to longer length of body. Well muscled hindquarters with well let down hocks, good tail set. Well balanced throughout, moved freely covering the ground well.  Close decision in the group, pleased to award him G2,   

 

AV Working Veteran – 3 (2a) 

 

1 – Mellor’s Debutante Von Schloss Ehrrenberg Mit Daserbe (IMP DEU) – Giant Schnauzer 

Admired this girl from the ringside and did not disappoint when handled, fills the eye with her wonderful shape and has such ring presence. Strong well proportioned head with a medium stop, dark eyes and good ear set, loved her expression. Long neck leading into well laid back shoulders, good depth of chest & tight elbows. Straight back with a good spring of rib. Strong muscled quarters with a good bend of stifle, neat hocks.  Was a joy to see her move freely around the ring with reach & drive holding her topline. She did me proud with her performance in the big ring and was thrilled to see her go BVIS. Congratulations.

1 – Bale’s Balletcor Cilmiera Silver Apple 

Just 6 mths old and has a lot of promise.  Nice foxy head with an alert expression and good medium sized ears.  Good neck and shoulder angulation, nice length of body and neat quarters.  When she decided to settle and found her right pace she moved well.  Pleased to award her BOB & PG2 

2 – Davies Kenquartz Tywyn – A lovely girl with a lot going for her, loved her head and expression.  Good angulation fore & aft. Carrying too much weight at the movement which affected her movement.  I wish her owner well. 

 

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) – O – 3 (1a) 

1 – Paton’s Pheneloppe Gold with Bunnahabhain 

3yr old bitch who had the sweest of expression, loved her foreface & typical foxy head.  Nice neck, lovely deep chest, correct angulation fore & aft.  Good medium length body with nice spring of ribs. Would have liked a little less weight on her Muscled quarters with good bend of stifle. Moved well.  Pleased to award her BOB    

2 – Bale’s Marshmere Francisco Dream in Balletcor 

9 mth old with some nice breed qualities.  He has a lovely head and good conformation throughout. Nicely angulated throughout.  Slightly all over the place with his movement but a nice boy. 

 

Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) – O -1 (0a) 

1 – William’s & James – Ch Bwthyn Headliner JW ShCm 

A favourite of mine I have placed highly since a puppy and today at nearly 5yrs old was the best I have ever seen him.  He has such ring presence and has matured into an outstanding dog in peak physical condition.  Typical foxy head with a wide skull with good ears and good length of foreface. Strong neck correctly angulated shoulders well laid back, deep chested. Good body length with level topline, well angulated muscled quarters, this boy has plenty of substance and is so well balanced throughout, His movement is a joy to watch as he powers around the ring with ease.  Handled to perfection, pleased to award him G1, he put on a perfect performance in the big ring and was proud to see him take BIS in a quality lineup. Congratulations 

 

Border Collie – O  - 1 (0a) 

1 - Carter’s Cartezz It’s About That Time 

Always liked this boy and did not disappoint today, loved his skull and foreface, expressive oval shaped eyes and correct ear set. Nicely angulated length of neck. clean well angulated shoulders with good bone.  Love this boys shape. Well muscle quarters with good turn of stifle, well let down hocks with oval feet., carried his tail well. Moved with ease covering the ring.  Please to award him BOB & G4 

   

2 – Garland’s – Tonkory Royale ShCM 

A lot to like about this boy, has a nice head, good neck and pleasing angulation fore & aft.  Good spring of rib and good breadth over the loin, slightly longer in body than I like. Moved well around the ring. 

 

Bearded Collie – O  - 2 (0a) 

1 – Kitchen’s Ceilmear’s Wise Man 

A 22 mth old slate both who gave me wonderful kisses, fab temperament on him.  Loved his head has a broad skull, good muzzle and stop all in proportion to his size. Straight front, good angulation fore & aft. Good length of body, well sprung ribs , nice breath over the loin.  Coat coming well with a lovely harsh texture. Low set tail carried well.  Moved freely with drive around the ring.  Pleased to award him BOB 

2 – Kitchen’s Highglade Angel Of Dreams 

7 yr old blue girl very feminine in great condition.  Lovely all round confirmation, nicely balanced but had to give way on age, would have preferred a little firmer topline . Carrying a lovely quality coat and moved well around the ring,  

 

German Shepherd Dog – PG – 1 (0a) 

1 -Stephens Brightmeadow Who Dares Wins 

Stood alone but so deserved his place powerful masculine dog with no exaggerations, well balanced throughout. Strong head with great depth all in proportion, expressive dark brown eyes and a good ear set.  Correct shoulder angulation well laid back, good withers, plenty of substance, straight front.  Good dept of chest, strong straight back, well muscled angulated quarters. Moved extremely well with in a small ring, great side profile.  Pleased to award him BOB & G2 

 

German Shepherd Dog – O – 3 (0a) 

1 – Jones – Ch Lararth Vanos of Morolwg 

A favourite of mine, hard to believe he is now a veteran.  Just love his head and expression, such a powerful boy.  Plenty of substance , nice straight front and a good depth of chest. Long neck leading into defined withers, correct shoulder angulation well laid back. Well balanced throughout, strong back and topline, well muscled rear angulation with low set hocks. Moved well around the ring.  Gave way to the youngster for breed but pleaded to award him BAV Veteran. 

2 – Stephens Brightmeadow rags to Riches 

Lovely bitch litter sister to my BOB She has everything in the right place and is so feminine, loved her head and expression, good neck & bone, correct shoulder angulation fore & aft, good topline.  Moved well  

 

3 – Bignell Broadmaynes Eternal Flame

1 – Kitchen’s Sevarna Catalonia’s Angel 

7 yr old bitch nicely put together would like her a little bigger. Nice head with a short muzzle and slight stop. Good neck, pleasing shoulder angulation, good body proportions, clean angulated quarters.  Good textured coat.  Moved freely around the ring. Pleased to award her BOB 

2 – Kitchen’s Sevarna Delightful Dilys 

3yr old bitch well put together, pleasing head, good angulations.  Like the body proportions on this one, in good coat.  She did not want to move at all today which was reflected in her placing. 

 

Samoyed- O – 3 (1a) 

1 - Elliott’s Altunha Fly Me To The Moon 

Typical wedged shaped head with a lovely broard flat skull, almond eyes and good width between the ears, has that smiling expression of the breed.  Good front and plenty of bone, strong arched neck, well laid back shoulders. Broard muscular body of a medium length, well muscled angulated quarters with well let down hocks. Carrying a good coat well presented.  Moved with drive freely around the ring.  Pleased to award him BOB 

2 – Elliott’s Rosskaja Oppenheimer Blue 

Just 12 mths and full of the joys of spring.  This youngster has a lot of promise, good head and neck, loved his expression and that twinkle in his eye. Well balanced throughout, good angulation fore & aft. Didn’t want to move in a straight line, he certainly enjoyed himself. 

 

AVNSC Pastoral – J – 5 (2a) 

 

1 – Flower’s Serenlas Heaven in Blu – Rough Collie 

Very Feminine 16mth old blue merle. Loved her head, flat skull, clean wedge shape. Good ears which she used well. Nicely arched neck, good bone and correctly angulated shoulders. Firm back of a good length with a good rise, loved her shape. Strong well angulated quarters with well let down hocks. Good quality coat coming, moved well around the ring. 

2 – Ogborn & Titman Asterel Christian Dior – Estrela Mountain Dog 

Lovely young boy coming together nicely. He has a super head and good rose ears. Plenty of substance and correct angulation fore & aft, good hooked tail.  Loved his shape, well balanced throughout.  Moved well in a small ring. 

3 – Rathband & Fealy Mournebrake A Star Is Born To Kaynell - Hungarian Puli – BAVNSC Puppy & PG1

1 – Thomas’s Mournebrake Bad Biscuit – Hungarian Puli 

Loved this fawn puli puppy just 9 mths, quite a character. Slightly domed skull with a good stop, dark eyes with a mischievous twinkle. Correctly angulated well laid back shoulders, loved this ones shape and well angulated rear, nice short rump with good depth.  Such a shame he just didn’t want to move, I’m sure he will have a promising future. His sister outmoved him for  best puppy.  Congrats to the breeder on a pair of lovely sound pulis with fab temperaments. 

2 – William’s Rycamrhia Brianna in Tinland – Finish Laphund 

A lot to like with this girl, a good head with lovely expressive eyes. Nicely bone with firm straight back, good angulation.  High set tail carried well, nice coat.  Moved ok 

 

AVNSC Pastoral – O – 3 (0a) – 3 quality dogs 

1 - Ogborn & Titman Asterel Tuppence – Estrela Mountain Dog 

Impressive 5yr old bitch who was a joy to go over.  Broad head with a good muzzle, loved her expressive eyes, good earset with the required rose ear. Nice straight front, plenty of substance, moderate angulation fore & aft. Short backed, good breath over the loin, slightly sloping croup, strong hindquarters with a good hooked tail. Loved her shape, nicely balanced and so together. Moved freely around the ring. Please to award her BAVNSC & G3 

2 – King’s Niaelle Zenos of Grizwold Shcm – Belgian Shepherd Tervueren 

Always liked this boy, typical head, would not use his ears. Good front & drpth of chest. Nice angulation, well balanced throughout.  Carrying a lovely jacket, moved round the ring with a typical brisk free movement. 

3 -  Grice’s Starvon Xpress Delivery at Coningsbear Shcm

Always loved this girl so sturdy and well built, she has such a powerful broad head good rose ears, has expressive gentle eyes , so well balanced throughout.  Nice neck, good shoulder angulation. Plenty of bone & a deep chest, well sprung ribs. Short back, good breadth of loin. Strong back end well angulated, low tailset, good hook on tail, moved well considered how little room she had.

A favourite of mine, good conformation through out, moved well in a top quality class.

PG1 - Rathband & Fealy Mournebrake A Star Is Born To Kaynell - Hungarian Puli 

What a character this black 9mth old puli is, litter sister to the fawn puppy and has that same mischievous look in her eye and many of the same qualities.  Lovely head and muzzle, good front, correctly angulated shoulders.  Loved her shape, she has such a sound rear, well let down hocks which she used well.  When she settled she moved really well, a bright future ahead for this one. Credit to her handler who worked hard with her. BAVNSC Puppy
