Chihuahua Club Of South Wales

Chihuahua Club of South Wales, Sunday 14th July 2019 , Smoothcoat Chihuahuas, Judge: Hazel Senior (Narinchi)

I’d like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge Smoothcoats at this well organised show, I was made to feel very welcome by all. Thanks also go to my co-judge for BIS, Lynn Hill; we were in total agreement for top honours.

Class 1, MPD (3/3)

1st Slavinec’s Charonchi Frankie Diamonds, well balanced red and white parti pup. Settled well in the ring and moved fair. Good tailset. 2nd Wilkes’ Parisland Peter Pan at Lukarra, well-constructed red boy, larger than 1st, very excited. Made his handler work to show him to his best.

Class 2, PD (6/6)

1st Stanghurst Cry Me A River, very attractive fawn dog with melting expression, nice reach of neck, great drive on the move and eye-catching side profile. BPD, RBD, BP, RBPIS. 2nd Roper’s Jicara Kiss the Girls, smart and attentive cream, petite in size but makes up in attitude. Unfortunate to have met class winner. RBPIB

Class 3 JD (2/1)

1st Witton’s Mikichi Mirror Beau in Chinatown, cream male, typical head properties, seemed to get stage fright in the ring standing alone so difficult to assess movement.

Class 4 SYD (4/3)

1st Davis’ Chibull Ronaldo, small cream with oodles of character, moves well with pleasing drive. Nice large flaring ears on a well-proportioned head, good mouth. 2nd Sutton’s Jicara Top Notch Nikitos, red fawn, just a tad up to size which appeared exaggerated next to winner.

Class 5 PGD (4/4)

1st Copymear Kharlid, outgoing blue fawn dog with great temperament. Lovely expression with good reach of neck, moves swiftly, tail carriage could be better but all in all a nice profile. 2nd Davis’ Noichi Red Rioja at Chibull, pushed hard against winner, lots to like and equal in temperament and showmanship, would prefer larger ears.

Class 6 LD (2/1)

1st Jicara Poised to Strike Nikitos, stood alone but made sure everyone was watching him. White and red small parti with enough attitude to sink a ship. Nice large eyes, flaring ears and a good mouth. Moved well with good reach and drive, pleasing outline.

Class 7 OD (3/2)

1st Lovric’s Joda de L’isle au Vert Coteau avec Lovchi, handsome tricolour, heavier set but with super rear movement and good level topline. Textbook tail, furry, flat, broadening then tapering to point, set and carried well, very attentive to handler. BD 2nd Sutton’s Jicara Heartbreaker Nikitos, Cream fawn with pleasing outline, again, pushed hard however l preferred the overall movement of the winner.

Class 9 MPB (2/2)

1st Slavinec’s Charonchi Sugar and Spice, red and white, moved adequately, not the confidence of her litter brother. RBPB 2nd Curr’s Natimuk Paloma, cream fawn, just woken from a very deep nap so it seemed, yawning all the way round the ring, nice dark eye, shorter in leg than winner.

Class 10 PB (2/2)

1st Sutton’s We Got Told You Got Sold to Nikitos, up to size cream, excelled in movement and was very eager to show BPB. 2nd Witton’s Chinatown Ready to Parti, cream and red parti with nice dark pigment, correct size, preferred the movement of the winner.

Class 11 JB (2/2)

1st Edward’s Copymear lilac wine, beautiful dark eyes with melting expression, moved well around the ring, good construction for one so slight. 2nd Witton’s Chinatown Charlie’s Angel, more robust type than winner, beautiful head and expression, preferred outline and tail carriage of winner.

Class 12 SYB (5/5)

1st Humphrey’s Amarantos Cassini, cream, excelling in movement and overall construction, deep dark pigment with light eye, appearing as if she is always has her eye on you. RBB. 2nd Davis’ Chibull Princess Ayiah, smaller frame than winner but lovely type, not quite a fully charged battery today but still showed herself well enough.

Class 13 PGB (1/1)

1st Slavinec’s Voxel ux Nancy at Charonchi, stood alone but enjoyed her moment, cream fawn with pretty, feminine face and nice eye.

Class 14 LB (4/2)

1st Rooney’s Jicara High Voltage, pretty cream fawn, well balanced with lovely side profile and super attentive to handler. Moved well towards. 2nd Sutton’s Tidos on a mission with Nikitos, very similar type to winner, smaller outline overall. Good use of large flaring ears.

Class 15 OB (2/2)

1st Curr’s Natimuk Mary Treadgold Bird, cream, of larger type. Very happy and attentive to handler. Nice dark pigment, typical head and expression, correct tail set and carriage, well placed ears. 2nd Lovric’s Lovchi Monkey, lots to like about this girl, pushed hard against winner in showmanship, however I preferred the tail carriage and ear set of the winner.

Class 16 VB (2/2)

1st Sutton’s CH Lozek Rhapsody in Blue Nikitos JW, 8-year-old cream bitch who has the mindset of an eager youngster. Obviously enjoys the good life yet excels in movement. Super rear angulation, straight front and level topline at all times. No hesitation to award BB, BOB and BIS alongside co-judge, Lynn Hill.
