Thank you to the handlers who were brave enough to come under me, I really enjoyed the experience. Overall you all had good knowledge and control of your charges and it was a pleasure for me to see you all enjoy the day.

Junior Handling Association 6-11 yrs (6,2) 1. Paige Hughes. This was a young lady with a good understanding of her charge, she was aware of my positioning at all times and had the dog under control, her focus in getting the best out of the dog with the precision of the placement of the dog on the stack was faultless, she never stopped looking over the dog to ensure all was right, when asked to move the dog she made eye contact with me which reassured me that she had understood the task given, her timing was spot on and the dog was moved to it’s best. She was polite and gave me the impression of someone that loved what she was doing. 2. Grace Rutherford. Another polite young lady that had confidence in what she was trying to achieve, presented the dog well in the correct manner all the time being in full control, lead work was sound, she was aware of my position when she moved the dog making sure that I was always able to see what the dog was doing, at the end ensuring that she presented the dog to it’s best, confident and assured in all that she did.

Junior Handling Association 12-16yrs (2). 1. Leah Scales. A well turned out polite young lady who was very knowledgeable about the breed of her charge, she had the basics of the breed spot on and also understood certain health issues associated with the breed, I was very impressed, she controlled the dog in a assuring confident empathetic manner, giving the dog confidence in what she was doing, placement in the stack was A1, confident in showing me the dentition of the dog, she had a really good rapport with the dog which showed when asked to move, this was done with a good stride all the time watching her charge and making little alterations to ensure all was correct. 2. Ashlyn Wemyss. Another that proved to have a good understanding of the breed of the dog shown, well presented and attentive to all that was asked, handled the dog with confidence and with a good eye on the surroundings, including the judge, stacked the dog to a very good standard paying particular attention to the feet which wasn’t easy on the uneven ground, moved with confidence all the time watching for my positioning and the dogs performance.

Adult Handling 26 yrs and Over. 1. Bev Manners. A Lady with reams of knowledge about her breed, presented well, watching my movement and adjusting the dog accordingly,  had a really good relationship with the dog giving lots of praise and encouragement, stacked the dog to it’s best always watching the dog for any little movement and with softness and kindness correcting the dog, again on the move she paid a lot of attention to the dog always giving that extra bit of encouragement to get the best out of it, I was impressed with the overall assessment, well done. 2. Louise Paterson. It was very close with No1  she showed the dog to it’s best watching my movement and adjusting accordingly, the showing of the teeth was good and confident, explaining all the time what she was doing, giving the dog reassurance along the way, she had excellent lead control on the move maintaining her position with the dog on uneven ground finishing with a good pat and well done for the dog.
