HAMPSHIRE GUNDOG SOCIETY Sunday 14th July 2019 Golden Retrievers

I would like to thank Hampshire Gundog Society for inviting me to judge Golden Retrievers at their Open show on Sunday 14th July 2019

Thank you to the Officers and Committee for all their hard work and giving me such a warm welcome and a very nice lunch.

I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for entering their dogs at the show.

Minor Puppy (2/1) 1 Absent

1st Bentley’s :- RAINBOWSKY MISTLETOW N WINE

A sweet bitch puppy but a little unsure of what was going on. Mid gold in colour she had a feminine head with soft expression, dark eye and solid pigmentation. Good length of neck and layback of shoulder with corresponding length of upper arm, forelegs straight with good bone, a correct tail set, well bent stifles and straight hocks.

Puppy (5/3) 2 Absent

1st Morss :- OLVINGAY SOOTHSAYER

A pale gold boy of good size he is well constructed. He has a lovely masculine head with a dark eye and kindly expression. Straight front with excellent bone and elbows tucked in, strong neck of good length leading into well-placed shoulders, good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Short coupled leading into strong rear quarters, hocks well let down and straight. Correct movement when he was concentrating on the job!! I was pleased to award him BEST PUPPY.

2nd Taylor’s :- PANDREFT ODE TO BILLY JOE

Another pale gold boy also with a balanced outline and a very nice coat. Good clean reach of neck. His shoulders were well laid back with equal length of upper arm putting his straight front legs well under him with nice tight feet. He had a level top line with a correct tail set, good turn of stifle, hocks were strong and straight. It was a close decision to my winner who won out on movement.

3rd Todd’s :- TODDROSA OASIS CHARM

Junior (7/5) 2 Absent

1st Sillence’s :- FIZOENA CIDER ICE WITH CANINA

A lovely boy with a mid-gold wavy coat. Very balanced when stood in profile or moving. A pleasing masculine head he had a dark eye with strong dark pigment. Straight front and tight feet, a good reach of neck, well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, well sprung ribs, short coupled with strong hindquarters. Table top level top line and correct tail set a good turn of stifle, strong straight hocks. Super symmetrical balance and carriage which he held on the move with good forward reach at the front and excellent drive from behind I liked this boy a lot one to watch in the future. BEST OF BREED.

2nd Morss :- XANTHOS FUTTERWACKEN

Another mid-gold boy this time with a straight coat. This boy was a larger framed upstanding dog with a good presence. He stood four square and looked like he was enjoying himself. Shoulders were well laid back with super front legs, straight with excellent bone and lovely cat like feet. He was strong in the pasterns, deep through the chest and had well sprung ribs, a moderate turn of stifle with well let down straight hocks. Looked a picture when stood.

A pretty feminine balanced picture and totally free from exaggeration. Mid gold bitch with a very sweet expression, she had an excellent reach of neck well laid back shoulder with a good length of upper arm giving correct front angulation. Forelegs were straight and tight at the elbows with lovely feet, well sprung ribs, a level top-line, excellent turn of stifle with well-muscled rear quarters, straight hocks. Moved very well.

1st Porter’s :- SHEARSTONE MUCK FE

A very nice mid gold bitch. I have seen this young lady before and liked her that time as well she has a most fantastic personality and showed herself with her tail wagging nonstop. She has a lovely dark eye with strong black pigment. A good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and straight front with the nicest of feet. A level top line with correct tail set also a good bend of stifle with hocks well let down and straight. Moved well across the small confined ring.

POSTGRADUATE (4/2) 2 Absent

1st Taylor’s :- PANDREFT KRYSTAL MAGIC

Pale gold in colour this lady was a very pleasant girl to judge. She had a very nice coat and was in good condition. She stood lovely and was balanced to look at. She was so feminine and pretty, a very typical golden head. She had a good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders, a good length of upper arm, front legs were straight and well under her body. She was deep through the chest and her ribs were well sprung, a level top-line and correct tail-set well bent stifle with straight strong hocks. I considered her for the top spot but the young boy won out on his movement. Pleased to award her RESERVE BEST OF BREED

2nd Gayler’s :- CAROLAKE REMEMBER ME JW

Mid gold girl in good coat she had a pretty face with a dark eye, she was straight in the front and her elbows were well tucked in, well sprung ribs with short coupling, a good turn of stifle and straight hocks. She moved well.

LIMIT (3/3) 0 Absent

1st Rose :- RULER OF THE WORLD OVER AZTECA

Upstanding mid gold male in good coat, typical head with dark eye. Strong neck of moderate length, deep chest of good width with well sprung ribs,correct tail-set , neat feet-moved well.

2nd Gallin’s :- TONARA ANNIE OAKLEY OF WHITEWIND

Darker in gold this girl was shown well she had a good reach of neck, forelegs were straight and elbows tight a level top-line with a well bent stifle, straight hocks.

3rd Todd’s :- TODDROSA SPRINTER SACRE

A lovely darker gold bitch with a very pretty head with good overall balance, shoulders were well placed with correct length of upper arm giving good front angulation, level top-line, stifle well bent and straight hocks lost out to one on winners clean excellent reach of neck.
