Poole Canine Club

Dalmatian Critiques

Thank you for the invitation from Poole Canine Club to judge at your friendly, well run show, and to Jenny my steward. Thank you also to the exhibitors for the opportunity to go over your lovely dogs.

 Puppy (1)

1st: Wilkinson’s Gwynmor Lewellyn To Hunacres. 10 month old B/S Dog with a very handsome head. Good depth of brisket, excellent bone & substance, neat cat feet. Boldly decorated, sleek coat with great pigment. Movement variable initially, but settled to show an effortless, rhythmic stride with a nice spring to his step and good ground coverage. A lovely laid-back boy. BP and later PG1.

 Graduate (1)

1st Hill’s Pandamax Mariner. 15 month old L/S Dog with an enthusiastic happy disposition. Strong masculine head with a striking expression. Well balanced with a powerful strong muscular rear. Lovely shade of liver. In high spirits on the move today, but at moments showed some excellent, powerful driving action from his hocks.

 Post Graduate (1)

1st Hill’s Nospar’s Shaded Cristal. 4 year old B/S Bitch with a pretty feminine head, well framed by her ears and a soft kind expression. Soundly constructed, with pleasing balance in angles & proportions, and good bone. She showed some positive reach and drive on the move but was erratic in consistency of pace.

 Open (3/1A)

1st Thorne’s Spotiray Billy Elliot of Castletop. 3 Year old eye catching B/S Dog. Masculine head with an expressive, kind face. Lovely long neck, good top line, strong loin. Great depth of brisket, excellent bone and tight cat feet. Well balanced, muscular and athletic. His pleasingly decorated, dense coat completes the picture. On the move he is powerful, easily covering the ground with good drive from the hocks and spring from his pasterns. BOB

2nd Ward’s Shulune Fanstasy Red Dragon. 5 year old L/S Dog with a masculine head, but with the gentlest of expressions and a beautiful amber eye. Good fore chest, strong forelegs, and good depth of brisket, but not as muscled as 1. Excellent bone & substance and nice cat feet. Movement in profile was smooth and rhythmic with a lovely elasticity to his steps, covering the ground well, but going away he was moving close behind today. At one with his handler. RBOB
