Ripon and District Canine Society Ripon Racecourse HG4 1UG Sunday 2nd June 2019  Golden Retrievers Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge Golden Retrievers at their well run and friendly open show. Thanks also to my very efficient ring steward and most especially to the exhibitors for allowing me the honour of judging their dogs . P (3,3a) J (3,3a) PG (8,4a) 1. Woods Mrs M DAILY RAYS HOPE OF HEART TO AMIRENE This young dog oozes quality. He has the most beautiful head with dark eyes and excellent pigment. He is well off for bone with the straightest of fronts. A super deep chest with well sprung ribs and is short coupled. He has a good reach of neck onto well laid back shoulders with a good topline which he held very well on the move. Correct tailset and equal angulations front and rear which completed the picture of a dog matching the breed standard. He moved with reach and drive at one with his handler. Happy to award him BOB and he went on to gain Group 3. 2. Dukes Mrs C QUAKERHALL ROYAL BOUNTY AT CADELLARD Pale cream young bitch with a gentle feminine head and lovely dark eyes, presented in gorgeous coat and condition. She is well balanced with a super front, good reach of neck onto well placed shoulders. She has a level top line, short couples and correct angulations. O (10, 4a) 1. Maddison's JAYMARDY HIDDEN SECRET A beautiful mature bitch in full bloom with a very sweet, gentle expression and super pigment. She has a lovely reach of neck with correct layback of shoulder, good straight front, deep chest with tight elbows and is well off for bone. Her angulations are of correct proportion front and rear making for lovely flowing clean lines with a level top line well held on the move. RBOB. 2. Anderson's LINCHAEL LIVIA A pale cream young bitch with a feminine head and expression, presented in beautiful coat and condition. She has an excellent reach of neck and layback of shoulder, deep well sprung ribs, straight front with good bone and tight feet. She is well balanced with equal angulations and a level top line held on the move and well let down straight hocks. Fiona Bell
