JACK RUSSELL TERRIER
PUPPY(1) 1.Collins & Powley’s Capshulacan Colebrooke. 11-month-old dog puppy. Lovely temperament. Correct proportioned head, with good ear set. Nicely muscled and well boned. Level top line and good tail set. BEST PUPPY & RESERVE BEST OF BREED.
OPEN (2) 1.Graves’ Stjarnlidens Undercover Girl for Pipsacre (Imp Swe). A very nice type. Correct proportioned head with lovely eyes. Super front and general shape. Easily spannable. Level top line and nice tail set. Well-muscled. Moved well. BEST OF BREED. 2.Broom’s Saredon Moon Dust. Quite a different type. Nice head, very good ears and eyes giving correct, keen expression. Well-muscled.
MANCHESTER TERRIER
LIMIT (1) 1.Pye’s Erkenwyne Go For Broke at Perromono. Quite a nice type. Appeared a bit long in leg but seemed balanced. Had all the correct markings. Well-toned, muscled body. Good length of well-proportioned head. Moved OK. BEST OF BREED.
PARSON RUSSELL TERRIER
PUPPY (2) 1.Newstead’s Tophead Truffle. Very nice, balanced 11-month-old dog puppy. Good head proportions, with correct ears dropping forward with tips able to touch the corner of his eyes. Straight front legs. Spannable. Good body and pelt. Well-muscled. Good tail set. Playing up, moving today. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.
JUNIOR (1) 1. Muhlross Magic Diamond. Litter sister to the dog in the puppy class and could see why she was in class above. Very feminine, but well balanced and had enough of everything, for a bitch of 11 months. Super, well-proportioned head with lovely expression. Nice ear carriage and neck. Straight front and spannable. Good pelt. Moved extremely well. In good coat. One to watch. BEST PUPPY & BEST OF BREED.
SCOTTISH TERRIER
LIMIT (1) 1.Wilde’s Blackthorpe Bryony. Fairly long head, with particularly good, neat pointed ears, set on top of the skull. Lovely dark eye, giving a keen and alert expression. Well-constructed front with plenty of fore chest. Well-rounded ribs in a short, nicely muscled, body. In excellent double coat, with lovely skirt, to fill the picture. Nice tail set. Moved well. BEST OF BREED.
OPEN (1) 1.Mills’ Blackthorpe Lost in You. Correct length of head. Nice ears set on top of skull. Well bodied and muscled. Nice coat. Moved very well. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.
WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER
PUPPY (2) 1.Davison’s Hopecharm Midnight Cowboy for Braxquin. A very promising puppy with lovely temperament. Nice head with correct slightly dome skull. Lovely small, pointed ears. Good eyes, showing that sharp, intelligent expression. Straight front. Correct neck length, giving overall balance. Level top line, muscular thighs and hocks well bent. Lovely coat coming, with harsh outer coat and short, softer undercoat. Underskirt developing. Moved freely, very well, showing off his gay, courageous personality. BEST PUPPY & RESERVE BEST OF BREED.
OPEN (3) 1.Davison’s Braxquin Forget Me Not. A nice example of a West Highland White. Correct shaped and proportioned head, with pointed ears and slightly domed skull. Distinct stop with bony ridge immediately above and slightly overhanging the eyes. Correct cobby, compact body. Level top line, good bend of hocks. Strong, well-muscled thighs. Correct coat and undercoat, with nice skirt. Played up a bit when moving. BEST OF BREED. 2.Keely’s Aust. Ch. Caspersz Chaos in the Night. A different type, longer on leg, but very nice for his age. Correct head with slightly domed skull and small pointed ears. Nice level topline, well bent hocks and well-muscled thighs.

SPECIAL YEARLING (1) 1.Tempesta’s Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Hobel Two Hearts for Jophiliana. Ears OK. Nicely bodied and boned. Level top line. Hindquarters well developed with powerful muscle and well bent stifles. Tail set a bit too low for me. Not moving well today. RESERVE A.V.N.S.C. TERRIER.
LIMIT (2) 1.Tempesta’s Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Kinaelan Finlandia Grace (AI) Better ears. Mouth good. Appeared to be heavy on the shoulders, affecting her front. Level top line and good length of body, Tail set could be higher. Recovering from maternity leave. Moved OK. BEST A.V.N.S.C. TERRIER.

JUNIOR (4) 1.Tuffin’s Border Terrier, Hartswelin Veritas with Oatberry. A very nice example of the breed. ‘Otter’ head with moderately broad skull. Nice straight front. Spannable. Deep, narrow, fairly long body. Level topline. Nicely muscled and fit. Racey hindquarters, but well-muscled and angulated. Lovely coat. Harsh and dense outer coat with close undercoat. Good pelt. Very sound mover. 2.Kennedy’s Border Terrier, Mr Emerald Tease Murphy. Another nice Border Terrier, with a lot of the same attributes. But preferred the keen expression and muscle tone of No 1. Correct coat. Nice type. 3.Holmes’ Border Terrier, Bimandi’s Banana Smoothie Ir Jun Ch. 4.Steinke’s Airedale Terrier, Toulsyork Perfectionist at Temtiz.
LIMIT (1) 1.Hayes’ Norwich Terrier, Ragus Seven Jumps JW. 18 months old now, still has loads of personality. Well-proportioned head with wide skull and defined stop. Small, oval eyes with good expression. Erect ears, well placed. Compact body with level topline. Well set tail. Broad, strong and muscular hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Good hard, wiry coat with undercoat. Moved well. A favourite of mine. A great ambassador for the breed and great showman.
OPEN (2) 1.Hayes’ Norwich Terrier, Ragus Fabulous Clown ShCM ShCEx. Quite different to his kennel mate. Excellent personality and character. Well-proportioned head and general outline. Appeared higher in leg and longer bodied. Level top line and well set tail. Nice neat feet. Coat OK. Moved well today.

ANY VARIETY VETERAN TERRIER (4) 1.Mills’ Scottish Terrier, Blackthorpe Bianca. Looked lovely for her age. Nice long head, with neat,fine textured, pointed ears, correctly placed on top of the skull. Well rounded ribs, back proportionately short and muscular, well bent stifles. In lovely double coat. Won on excellent smooth, free movement with drive from behind. 2.Godden’s Bedlington Terrier, Vakurblue Bacon Buttie. Another lovely Veteran. Good head with excellent small, bright, deep set triangular eyes and thin ears. Good length of neck and shoulders. Deep chest and flat ribs, producing a super outline. Moved well. Presented beautifully in wonderful condition both bodily and coat. A credit to her owner 3.Steinke’s Airedale Terrier, Wendaire Jokers Zulu Angel.
TERRIER GROUP A very good Terrier group, with excellent dogs present. Lovely examples of their breed. Unfortunately, one or two who had wonderful outlines and should have been placed, let themselves down by not moving in unison with their handlers.
BEST TERRIER - Offer’s Bedlington Terrier, Ch. Woolytop the Wherryman ShCM. Caught my eye as soon as he came into the ring. A very worthy champion, presented and handled to perfection. I see I judged him as a puppy and pleased to see he has matured into a lovely dog of good breed type. Super head, deep chest, good neck flowing into flat, sloping shoulders. correct top line with natural arch over loin. Stood well on good bone and hare feet. Moved well, with the distinctive, rather mincing Bedlington movement, light and springy. Lovely Bedlington distinctive thick, linty coat, with silky ‘topknot’ on head.

PUPPY GROUP FOUR - Broom’s Norfolk Terrier, Roxway Secret Chapter. 8-month-old dog puppy. A nice type, but not showing his best today.
BEST RESERVE BOB TERRIER - Baldwin’s Bedlington Terrier, Woolytop the Piper’s Son. Nicely balanced, giving a super outline. Correct skull and long tapering jaw, with good dentition. Well set small eyes with filbert shaped ears, set low. Tapering neck with no throatiness. Flat ribs with natural arch over loin. Correct tapering tail, set low. Typical Bedlington mincing movement and distinctive coat. Well presented.
VULNERABLE NATIVE BREEDS STAKES (18) Thank you to the exhibitors for presenting such quality dogs for me to assess. I was spoilt for choice. 1.Benton’s Smooth Collie, Oakestelle Venus De Milo. I am very surprised this bitch is not a champion, as I considered her stunning and full of breed type. I am not surprised to see she won this class last year! An alert blue merle, with quality in abundance and never stopped showing. Being well balanced in profile. Correct length of well-proportioned head, with flat skull and well-placed slight stop. Excellent tipped ears used to enhance her expression. Good reach and arch of neck. Good depth of chest and a firmly held top line. Correct slightly sloping front pasterns, lovely body shape, good bend of stifle, strong rear, good length of tail, moved very well in all directions. In super coat and condition. 2.Syrett’s Lancashire Heeler, Ch. Ganseblume Enchantress JW ShCM. Fell in love with this beautiful Lancashire Heeler bitch. Not surprised she is a champion. I see she was Reserve Best in Show last year. Has real star quality. Lovely bitch, very feminine head, lovely dark almond shaped eyes. Correct size and set of ears. Muscular neck on shoulders well laid back, chest reaching elbow and good forechest, ribs well sprung and firm top line. Well muscled hindquarters, with well turned stifles and hocks well let down. Nice smart, brisk movement. Super hard condition, good bone, lovely coat texture and rich colour. 3.Hayes’ Norwich Terrier, Ragus Seven Jumps JW. See above. 4.Frosdick’s Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Ch. Elmsmere Co Star for Kalwig. Another lovely champion. 5.Mills’ Scottish Terrier, Blackthorpe Lost in You. See above.
