Salisbury & South Wilts Canine Society

 Thank you to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge the Pastoral Group at this well run show. The quality of exhibits were very high, with all my top winners winning Best In Show, Best Puppy in Show and Best Veteran in Show. It was a wonderful day. Lovely photographs on your Facebok page.

A.V. IMPORTED BREED REGISTER OPEN (1) 1.Dennis’ White Swiss Shepherd Dog, Bailey of Sereno Spirit (Imp Esp). Well proportioned head with flat skull. Nice ears, set high. Correct eyes, good neck, nice shoulder placement. Well muscled front with prominent forechest. Strong top line, level back sloping to croup. Well angulated hindquarters. Coat on the blow. Very good for his age, which showed a bit in his movement. BEST A.V. IMPORTED BREED.

BEARDED COLLIE

SPECIAL YEARLING (4) 1.Miller’s Dychix Oh Boy. Almost a year old & won the class on maturity. Portrayed a long, lean dog. Holding his top line when on the move. Correct head. Good bone. Well bent stifles and low hocks. In super coat. Moved OK. BEST PUPPY. 2.Fear & Rodrigues’ Ceilmear’s Silver Jubilee. Very immature 6 month baby with still a puppy coat. Good head proportions. Nice straight forequarters. Super body, well muscled with level back, held on the move. Would like to see what she is like when matured.

OPEN (4) 1.Webb’s Megamaree Just Amazing JW ShCM. Well proportioned head with strength of muzzle and broad skull. Nice overall shape with good length of body and excellent topline. Muscular, sound hindquarters. Scores on the move with excellent profile and gait. Well presented with correct double coat. BEST OF BREED. 2.Miller’s Dychix Oh Boy. Repeat. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.

WELSH CORGI (PEMBROKE)

SPECIAL YEARLING (2) 1.Wyer’s Cottivy Cappuccino. Fell in love with this ‘little chap’ as soon as he came into the ring, full of personality and character. Well proportioned foxy head, brown eyes giving super expression. Excellent forequarters with forearms moulded around chest and elbows fitting closely to sides. Chest broad and deep well let down between forelegs. Super body with level topline, held on the move. Strong hindquarters with well angulated stifles. Well boned, presented in lovely condition. Moved free and easy with purpose and confidence. BEST OF BREED & BEST PUPPY.

OPEN (2) 1.Wyer’s Brisam Mokka at Cottivy. Mother of the puppy, recovering from maternal duties. Correct head with round eyes. Good reach of neck and level topline. Showed well, being very proud of her son. Presented in good coat and condition. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.

SPECIAL YEARLING (3) 1.Thomas’ Hungarian Puli, Mournebrake Bad Biscuit. Another superb puppy with so much character and presence. Well grown, sturdy, with good bone. Coat shows his immaturity, but correct coat coming through underneath. Black masked fawn colour. Correct scissor bite and colour of inside of mouth. Dark eyes with lively expression. Excellent front and hindquarters, giving correct short stepping quick movement. Tightly curled tail. BEST A.V.N.S.C.PASTORAL PUPPY. 2.Shrieves’ Catalan Sheepdog, Winarose Wanderin Star CW’19. Another quality puppy. Excellent, well proportioned head, dark round eyes, scissor bite, lips and roof of mouth black. Well angulated front and back, with good muscle. Low set tail and carriage. Moved with reach and drive. 3.Caudrelier’s Catalan Sheepdog, Winarose Sound of Music.

POST GRADUATE (1) 1.Rudd’s Finnish Lapphund, Infindigo Lintu Henkka. Stood alone, but a good example of the breed. Correct broad head with slightly rounded skull, oval eye and defined stop. Balanced outline. Moved effortlessly around the ring.

OPEN (6) 1.Shrieves’ Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Mybeards Hope CW’19. Correctly proportioned head with oval shaped eyes giving the correct lively penetrating gaze. Nice neck, well placed shoulders and straight front legs. Level, well ribbed back. Well built and nicely muscled. Good tail carriage. Moved well. In excellent coat. BEST A.V.N.S.C. PASTORAL. 2.Etches & Perry’s Swedish Vallhund, Starvon Cryptic Spyda. Good wedge shaped head. Dark eyes and well placed ears. Well proportioned body, level topline, well muscled. In excellent condition and moved freely around the ring. A good example of his breed.

SPECIAL VETERAN (7-9 YEARS) (6) 1.Ainsworth’s Belgian Shepherd Dog (Tervueren), Hawksflight Light my Fire. What a wonderful showman, with class and style to catch the eye. So feminine and elegant. Well proportioned finely chiselled head. Nice dark almond shaped eyes. Used distinctly triangular shaped ears all the time. Nice arched neck, well laid shoulders, good front assembly. Powerful body, but elegant. Well muscled and good hindquarters for a veteran bitch. Superb movement, in particular, side gait. Presented in excellent coat and condition. BEST PASTORAL VETERAN. 2.Garlands’ Border Collie, Tonkory Doyle JW ShCM. Always loves his days out at shows, therefore ‘shows his socks off’. Well proportioned masculine head, with distinct stop. Oval shaped brown eyes and super well set ears. Well balanced body, good well muscled hindquarters. Presented in lovely condition with super coat. 3.Thomas’ Hungarian Puli, Mournebrake Flower Child. 4.Evans’ Shetland Sheepdog, Lianbray Love in the sun. 5.Creamer’s Shetland Sheepdog, Lyngarso Ebony Ice.

SPECIAL VETERAN (10+ YEARS) 1.McShane’s Shetland Sheepdog, Milesend Drama Queen. Extremely good for 13 years old. Such a gentle, elegant ‘old lady’. Well proportioned head with flat skull. Good eyes and well set semi-erect ears. Good dentition. Correct body, slightly longer than height, level topline and graceful sweep over loin. Good muscle for age. Well angled stifle joint, giving smooth, graceful movement. In superb double coat, a credit to her owner. Presented in lovely condition. 2.Davis’ Border Collie. Kinaway I am sir Matt for Jacamalis ShCM. Another good Border Collie. Correct masculine head, with good stop. Well proportioned body with level topline. Well muscled and always presented in good condition. Coat, correct and well presented. He is a very good, sound mover for his age. 3.Evans’ Shetland Sheepdog, Glensanda Girl on the go.

1.King’s Retriever (Labrador),Linthwaite Saffron. Quality young bitch of lovely type and balance. Correct head. Straight front legs with correct bone. Deep body with good forechest, short strong loin. Well bodied with good confirmation. Moved extremely well. 2.Horton & Williams’ Bullmastiff, Gertlush Bella Donna. Good sized, square proportioned head. Well boned and developed for such a large breed. In superb muscle, condition and coat. Well presented. Moved well for a young Bullmastiff. 3.Matthews’ Dachshund (Wire Haired), Stanegate Billy the Kid. 4.Warner’s Manchester Terrier, Talanors Time for Fun. 5.Thomas’ Hungarian Puli, Mournebrake Bad Biscuit.
