EVESHAM CANINE SOCIETY - 14th JULY 2019 Thank you to the Committee for this invitation to judge at this well run show. It was a very pleasurable day with all judging undertaken outdoors in large rings which allowed me to assess movement easily. My two stewards did a first class job too. Thank you ladies!

GUNDOG GROUP A quality group with some very nice exhibits on show here today. I was looking for solid construction, good breed points and of course all topped off with correct movement and a bit of style. My winners had that in spades and I was pleased with what had been sent through to me.

1. The Irish Water Spaniel whom I had judged earlier in the day in AVNSC Yearling class Busbys STANEGATE LEADING ROLE AT ZAKBY and was simply a class act - he was hard to get by and never dropped his performance level at all. Typey and in great coat already for one so young, he is well made and has a great topline and tailset. Moderately angled and with the correct coat. Moved with precision, reach and drive and has the most attractive open gait on the around - one to watch!

2. Irish Setter Hadfields COVARNEY ESTEE AVEC MARZANNE. Sound stylish young bitch who is nicely put together. She is angled correctly and has a very nice spring of rib and also with good length. She stands on the best of bone and feet and is good in quarters. Correct gently sloping topine and with good tailset. She is sound out, back and around and has lots of charisma. I liked her a lot.

3. Hungarian Vizsla Challis' VIZSLANYA ARAGONIA 9 months old and so balanced. Deep enough already. Good construction all through with nothing to hide. Good bone, neat feet moved with precision and carriage. Appealing in head with good eye shape and colour and correct head planes. Much to like - will watch out for this one!

4. Davies and Browns' JONEVA COCKTAILS AND DREAMS AT WYSTRY. Gorgeous head and eye, correct planes and good ear set. Good finish to foreface. Clean in neck into shoulder and good in front angulation. Deep in ribs and carried well back. Level topline and strong enough in quarters. Put on a good enough show but could do a little more to take on the top spots.

GUNDOG PUPPY GROUP

1 Labrador. Hodges NAIKEN ELITE ENVOY I judged him earlier in the day and found him so appealing for overall shape , balance, style and of such a nice type. He has the correct coat and otter tail and is so sound out back and around. He never put a foot wrong and his super construction pulled me all the way.

2. Hungarian Vizsla who was adult group 3. Challis' VIZSLANYA ARAGONIA Again he put on a great performance and is of such a good type and construction.

  3 Weimaraner, Atkinsons GUNALT INTRIGING. lovely balance, refined with substance. So well put together. Gorgeous head and standing over a good amount of ground. Sound in construction and sound on the move.

4 German Shorthiared Pointer Roses' KAVACANNE AT KARWENDEL Balanced typey and sound. Good in head properties. Good in upper arm, shoulder and has lots of reach on the move. Deep ribbing and goes well back. Moderate quarters with good wdith over first and second thighs. Sound little mover.

HUNGARIAN WIREHAIRED VIZSLA

Junior D/B (1,0) Grays OAKBERROW LET THE FUN BE GIN A smart little mover who came together quite well when he settled. Pleasing head with good finish to foreface and correct eye shape and colour. Good ear set and shape and has the correct harshness to his coat. Good front assembly and enough depth. Correct bone but I would prefer a tighter foot. Very nice first and second thigh and enough bend of stifle without excess.

Puppy D/B BPIB (3,1 )Hintons FLEURFIELD TRULY A SECRET Two puppies of very differing styles. Today I liked the appeal of the smaller liver bitch who was well put together and of a nice type. Just 6 months old and still a bit raw but went around with good reach and drive and used herself quite well. She has moderate angles and a decent topline. Straight and true in front and came together quite nicely on the move. I found her a very decent bitch in all departments. She is young and has more to come but she shows some promise. 2.McGraths TEISGOL HOT N SAUSEY Well grown boy who is just at that 'leggy' stage. He has super feet and he has a good spring and length of ribbing. Still needing to mature on and develop some in depth. Just could not match the winner for overall construction and movement today.

Junior D/B (8,0) 1. Lowes LOWSMOOR HALF A SIXPENCE She is well balanced and has super shoulder and upper arm angulation. Straight true front with correct oval shaped bone and tidy feet. Good depth and good little rib cage. Loved her style with such a nice front and good in rib. She has an appealing head and is clean in neck. She is so nicely put together and it showed in her easy open gait - so much to like, especially her moderation. 2. Scholes WILCHRIMAINE TEA FOR TWO WITH ROSSGLIDE JW I have judged this boy before and liked him very much then. I still do. So much to commend and he has the very best of fronts. He is good in rib and has a very well developed rear. He has an appealing topline and tailset. Very nice head and expression with well placed ears and good nose. Today he just could not match the winner on performance. 3. Olivers OLIVESONG KISS CHASE

Post Graduate D/B (4,0) First two again very different in style.1.Watkins, Phillips & Gordons HAWKFIELD AUDACIOUS (ai) JW. What a headpiece - totally to die for. Absolutely outstanding and that expression! Quite breathtaking to my eye. She is quite different to many of the others and in some ways has some exaggeration but she does have many breed points in abundance too. She stands on correct bone and feet, has a good front and good ribs. Well developed in quarters , in fact slightly more than I usually go for. Good tailset and uses herself so well on the around. She is a shade long in loin. Loved her bee sting action as she went. BOB 2.Fox, Stilgoe & Stilgoes ALCAZAR BEWILDERED OF DAPPLELINE Black and white bitch who has so much pointer type but is just a bit fine all through. She appeals in many ways and has very decent construction - just like a bit more of her to take things to another level. 3. Wilkins WILCHRIMAINE CHERRY FLIP WITH LOTTIEBOO

Open D/B (5,1) RBOB 1. Adams MILLPOINT SIMPLY SMASHING JW SHCM Black and white dog presented here today in the finest of muscle and condition, as all this owners are. A bit taller than I normally go for but he has balance and condition and lots to commend in his overall construction. Super front, moderate quarters, good ribbing and loin. Nice head and eye and good in lip. Moved well and with good tail action. A very close decision for BOB, just head preference pulling me on this particular occasion. 2. Philo's FYDAL CAPRIO AT SALMONMIST JW SHCM another quality dog who today also pulled out all the stops . He has so much to commend. Loved him for his overall type and style - I have done many well from this kennel over the years. Very appealing in head. Good reachy strong neck into very nice front assembly. Very nice quarters and good in tail. Correct bone shape and good feet. Would prefer a little more length of rib but overall this is a quality dog who has a nice open gait on the around. 3.Matthews MEDOGOLD TARTIN WITH SONHAM JW SHCM

Puppy D/B (3,1) 1 & BPIB & PG1. 1. Hodges NAIKEN ELITE ENVOY Super chocolate boy who is really well constructed. He has the best of tails and is correct in his coat. He stands on a good amount of ground and is deep in rib and carries them well back to strong short loin. Good bone and pleasing feet. Super front and has a very nice disposition. Good eye colour and shape, correct ear placement. Still a little plainer in head than I like but he has so much in body and in movement he is hard to ignore. Moves with precision and drive and was so balanced. A very interesting package. Liked so much about him. 2.Bakers SILVERBRIAR ROWENA Black girl. Quite a nice head with a very soft expression, good eye colour and shape . Correct in ear placement and has good pigment. Good full ribs. Today she was lacking in confidence.

Junior D/B (7,3) 1. Hodges NAIKEN EAST MEETS WEST (ai) Black boy who is the brother to the puppy class winner and has many of the same constructional appeals. He just did not have the extra presence to take BP award today. Liked him for his great front and quarters, good in head and in fact a bit more work in head than his brother at this point. He just needs to show himself a little more. 2.Chapmans DAISYPATCH JELLY TOT Pleasing in bone and balance. Strong with wide quarters. Full in ribs. Good eye shape, Clean in lips.

Post Grad D/B (5,2)1. Chapmans DAISYPATCH DOLLY MIXTURE Pale bitch with very nice balance. Good in bone and feet. Good prosternum and upper arm. Good quarters and could go further if a little more attention to conditioning. 2. Wyatts MEADOWLEIGH A WISH FOR KATIE. Black bitch who was not so appealing in head but she did have a very nice expression. Good ear shape and set. Would prefer a shade more bone. 3. Nightingales FLYENPIG SNAZZY SNIFFER

Limit D/B (2,1) RBOB 1. Brittons LLANSTINAN LOUIS LEWIS BOWSTONES Black. This dog has the most delightful head. the best of expression, correct ear set and carriage. Good head planes and dark pigment. Strong in neck and sets in well to nicely angulated shoulders. Good topline, strong ribs with correct length of loin. Well developed in quarters. So much to commend and is reachy on the around. A little shorter in croup than is the ideal for him. Just a bit fond of his tail which cost him for me in the challenge.

  Open D/B (1,)) 1 BOB Brittons BOWSTONES POLKA. Liked her balance, coat and tail and also she possesses a nice head that has a very appealing expression. Very complimentary head planes and enough work throughout. Strong in neck, moderate and fits in nicely to well constructed front. Stands on good bone and feet. She is nicely developed in rear and has a good condition all thorough. Deep in ribs and carries them well back to strong loin. Strong level topline into correct length of croup and tailset. Typey and balanced and moves with some style and attitude. Pleased to award her BOB.

AVNSC GUNDOG

Puppy D/B 1. Nova Scotia DTR Westwoods Eusanit Hot Toddy. Well put togetherand presented in tip top condition. Well coated already and standing here already like a little pro. Very appealing from all angles with lots to like in her construction. Standing over a good amount of ground, of good size and of correct bone with tidy well knit toes. Deep and strong in ribbing. Good angulation fore and aft and the most pleasing head with alert expression. Moved with style and charm, covering the ground well. 2. Rogers EUSANIT PEAKY BLINDER NSDTR Another from this kennel of good type, of similar remarks as his sister and with dark rich coat. Today he could not just match her for performance.

Yearling D/B 1. & BOB. IWS Busbys STANEGATELEADING ROLE AT ZAKBY Young 15 month old boy who has got it all going on. He has showmanship and style in abundance and is totally at one with his young confident handler - great to see this teamwork. He is already very classy with all the essentials in construction. He has the best of coats with tight crisp curls. He is nicely angulated fore and aft and moves with reach and drive in spades. He carries himself well on the around maintaining his level topline as he goes. He is moderate and not overdone and stands on good bone. He had made an impression and went on to win a quality group with some ease. 2 Gashers Sussex Spaniel correct in topline and tailset. of a pleasing type with lovely quarters. Really liked his tail action.

Open Dog (1,0) 1.GLP Specks SARSCOTTA ASTRO In excellent muscle condition. Rather wide in front but good in ribbing with super quarters. Good bone and good ear set and eye shape. Moved ok.

AV HOUND

Puppy D/B (4,2) 1 Mini Smooth Dach. Dunhills GELLIJAMS RUSSIAN SUN This little package was put together so well and has the most delightful face. With a different handler I was told but it made no difference - he enjoyed himself and was confident and gave a good performance. Sound as they come and keeping his level topline as he went. Good fore and aft and with the most pleasing head and expression. So much to like. 2.Irish Wolfhound Keary & Casely BRAEWISEN LADY OF THE MOON. Nice head and expression. Good in forehand and nicely developed in rear. Lovely eye shape and good in bone and feet. Not so good in croup and not so sound in rear on the move. but is pleasing on the around and shows some potential.

Junior D/B (6,3) 1. Clayton Smiths CAIRPARVEL KISS FROM A ROSE Wire haired dachs. My notes say - What a great package - gorgeous. Sound as a pund out back and especially on the around. Moves with such style and spirit. Well put together in all departments with the best of angles and super strong in topline. Particularly liked his front extension and headpiece. A great find today! 2 Thompsons AGFHAN HOUND Such a gorgeous head piece n this dog. Well off for bone and presented well today. Good in rear but would like a little more up front to give me that front extension I was looking for.

Post Graduate D/B (5,2) WHIPPET Shentons ALYSANDOS BLUE SKU SUNSHINE. Super shoulder and length of scapula. Deep and lying so well back - lovely. Ok in upper arm. Pleasing head . Good bone and feet. Would prefer a bit more attitude on the move. 2 IRISH WOLFHOUND. Keary & Caselys EILEANIRGH LADY OF THE FIRE. nice head planes and good in muzzle. Eye shape correct . Would prefer a tighter rose ear. Good in bone. Decent enough front but would prefer more width over first and second thigh areas. 3. RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK Canns HESPA WHISKY MAC

OPEN D/B (5,1) 1Waymanns SPEYMALT NORTHERN STAR JW Dark brindle with trim. Presented in super muscle and good coat. Decent front and good topline and underline. Good bone and feet. Short rear pasterns. Comes together so well on the move. AV HOUND Special Veteran 7-9 D/B 1. Basenji Bakers CH SILVERBRIAR MIRROR IMAGE JW. Tri who won this on overall showmanship and style on the around. Decent in front with good ribbing and good in loin. Held topline on the move and had plenty reach and drive. Moderate in rear and good tail. 2. AFGHAN HOUND Heritages AJAZZMEENAH ARIEL SHCM comes together well also on the move. Good in rear angulation and very pleasing in head with correct ear placement. Would prefer a bit more angulation and fill in front. Good enough in ribbing and loin. Moves typically. 3. BEAGLE Keyte &Keepences LANESEND CHICA FOR ALANDOBEL

Special Veteran 10 plus D/B 1.BASENJI Bakers IR CH TOKAJAMERICAN DREAMZOF SILVERBRIAR JW SHCM. Stylish and with great charisma even at this age. Showed her self to full advantage never letting up. In good condition and muscle still and deep and with moderate angles front and rear. Good topline and tailset and still appealing in head if a few little grey hairs on show. Good bone and feet. 2. BEAGLE Websters DIALYNNE NUMERO UNO SHCM Lovely head an the best of bone and feet. Super in hind quarters and with moderate an=mount of angulation. Good depth of chest and good spring of rib. Moves well and carried himself , keeping good topline as he went.

Open D/B (39) 1. Siberian Husky Norleys ARTICSKIES BOLD AS BRASS WITH SNODIVA. This super young bitch oozes quality. Nothing to detract in any way. Beautifully constructed with super angulation, moderation and class. She has the most appealing head and eye and uses her ears. Strong in neck and into super shoulder and upper arm. Good in prosternum, deep in ribs and carried well back to muscular loin. Strong well developed quarters with good width over first and second thighs. Quality bone and feet. Stands over a good amount of ground. She absolutely uses herself from she walks into the ring, her young handler working with her all the time and getting every bit out of her. She is so sound - I will watch her career with such interest. I believe she won her Junior Warrant today! Well done - a great partnership! 2. Min Pinscher James' CH JAEGERSONDRESS TO IMPRESS JW Another in this entry from the very top drawer. Such a showman. Appeals from every angle. Tidy in construction, correct in topline, super little front with matching rear. Happy and sound as a bell on the move - another that has attitude in abundance. Liked him a lot. 3 Dobermann Webbs SHALISSA'S SIRIUSLY STUNNIN (ai) JW
