Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club
My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge their show and to the exhibitors for a very generous entry and sportsmanship on the day. It was a pleasure to judge and I found the dogs to be in good condition with many typical examples of the breed.
I awarded BIS to Miller & Ryan’s Feorlig Wake Up Maggie JW. A super elegant and feminine bitch. Loved her head, rounded and dark eyes, large and well set and carried ears, correct length of neck. Well constructed, with level topline and good rear angulation. Moved well with light, free flowing and positive action. Excellent coat and condition. RBIS was Aitkin’s Elfuago a New Adventure. A typical, balanced male of correct size with an appealing head and expression. Dark, rounded eyes; well placed and carried ears. Level topline, well angulated hindquarters. Moved with elegance and positivity. BPIS was Bartram’s Magic Sunrise Brigand with Burghbridge. Promising puppy, overall I found him to be well balanced and elegant. Slightly rounded skull, dark eyes and well placed and carried large ears. He moved well when settled. Correct for size with fairly long body, level topline and well set and carried tail.
VD 1 Walsh’s Bankshill Lord of the Rings is Purepixie. Very elegant, sound and well constructed and moving beautifully around the ring with light, free flowing action. Good fringes on his large, well placed and carried ears and his tail that he carried well over his back. Rounded dark eyes. RBD. 2 Maskell’s Kazkell Thyme to Dream. Sound and well constructed, with good angulation and light action. Well set and carried ears. Level topline with correct tailset and carriage. 3 Thompson & Austin’s Jhanakia Highland Destiny.
MPD 1 Morley and Hitchcock’s Berestead Rouge Ricardo. A promising young puppy at his first show. He has a delightful and expression, with well placed and carried large ears. Has plenty of room to develop, he moved well with confidence. 2 Patrick’s Volpecular Fancy Free. Another promising puppy, correct shape with good angulation. Typical head and expression. 3 Mann’s Mowlat Lets Boogie to Melangel.
PD 1 Bartram’s Magic Sunrise Brigand with Burghbridge. 2 Dunn’s Sweetbriar Double Shot. Typical head and expression, slightly rounded between the ears with a well defined stop and fine muzzle. Good topline, moved elegantly. 3 Mann’s Melangel Everlasting Love.
JD 1 Waters’ Sweetbriar a Harlequin. Typical outline, correct for size and shape with sufficient length of body and level topline. Well set and carried tail. Liked his head, with well placed, large ears with good fringes. Moved soundly with elegance and drive. 2 Thompson & Austin’s Melangel Highland by Design at Jhanakia. Moved with elegance, maintained a level topline, high set tail, with sufficient fringes, that he carried correctly arched over his back. 3 Headley’s Yeldaeh Simply Red.
ND 1 Waller’s Lilnrose The Miracle. Correct for size, with fine bone. Well set and carried tail. Typical head with defined stop and dark, rounded eyes. 2 Green & George-Evans’ Jogealin Moon Dance. Coat ion good condition, moved well with free-flowing elegance.
GD 1 Waller’s Lilnrose I’m a Love Bug JW. Correct for size and shape, fine bone and well angulated hindquarters. Well set, large ears with room to show slightly rounded skull. Dark eye. Moved well in profile, with free and elegant action. 2 Richardson’s Ringlands Sunny Tommy Tucker to Belvane. Overall, I preferred the size and eye of 1. Liked his typical head, with well defined stop, dark and rounded eyes and well placed ears. Level topline with high set tail, arched correctly over his back. 3 Clint’s Papplewick Prince Bishop.
PGD 1 Morley & Hitchcock’s Elfuago Bombastic. Sound, well balanced with good construction. I liked his head, with fine muzzle, well defined stop, dark eyes and large, well placed and carried ears. Well laid shoulders, level topline, high set tail. Moved very well, with elegance and parallel movement in front and rear. 2 Headley’s Lafford Dixon of Dock Green. Coat in good condition, level topline, well set tail. 3 Clint’s Papplewick Persian Power JW ShCM.
LD 1 Aitkin’s Elfuago a New Adventure. 2 Richardson’s Rozamie Request Belvane. Nicely balanced overall, with correct head proportions, fine muzzle and dark eye. Well set and carried large ears. 3 Morton’s Ablazzor King of Spades.
OD 1 Thompson & Austin’s Melangel Highland Vogue at Jhanakia. Super head with correct, symmetrical markings, defined stop, dark eyes, well set and carried ears. Sound and well constructed with well laid shoulder, level topline and well angulated hindquarters. Moved well, with elegance. 2 Bruce’s Tijuana Mayhem. Phalene. Well balanced overall, sound and well constructed, with good topline and well set and carried tail. 3 Green & George-Evans’ Jorgealin Moon Shine JW.
VB 1 Green’s Mercedes Diamond at Rubywings. Feminine and well balanced. Liked her head, large ears and dark expressive eyes. Moved well, with drive and elegant free-flowing action. 2 Foynes & May’s Jhanakia Masquerade at Lafay. Correct for size and shape, well set and carried tail, moved well. 3 Anderson’s Hilsorg Marks Amelia at Pappretty.
MPB 1 Morley & Hitchcock’s Berestead Bellenoir. Appealing head, with correct markings, well set and carried ears. Well angulated hindquarters, moved well. 2 Mann’s Highland Mist over Melangel. Preferred the size of 1. Large, well set ears, level topline. Carried her tail well.
PB 1 Killer & Ryan’s Feorlig Smart Cookie. Feminine, quality bitch with much to appreciate. Large, well placed ears, dark and rounded eyes, correct head proportions with fine muzzle and defined stop. Level topline that she held on the move, free and elegant movement. High set tail that she carried correctly over her back. 2 Thompson & Austin’s Melangel Enchanting Evita at Jhanakia. I preferred the head of the winner. Well set ears, level topline, high set tail that she carried correctly over her back.
JB 1 Kirk’s Ablazzor Angel Delight at Kirkchase. Attractove, feminine bitch with correct head proportions and symmetrical markings. Well set and carried ears, dark and rounded eyes. Well laid shoulder, level topline and good rear angulation. Moved well.
YB 1 Morley & Hitchcock’s Jorgealin Indian Magic at Lislanmor JW. Loved her head and eye, correctly marked with good earset and carriage. Level topline, high set tail, with correct fringes. Moved effortlessly and elegantly. RBB. 2 Anderson’s Pappretty Luck Be A Lady. Coat in good condition, nicely balanced head.
NB 1 Waller’s Lilnrose Treasure the Dream. Feminine and balanced overall with an appealing head and eye. Good fringing on her tail and ears. Well set tail and level topline. 2 Kirk’s Kirkchase Tomorrow Child. Dark eye, well set tail that she carried correctly over her back.
GB 1 Maskell’s Lilnrose Too Vain to Dream Kazkell JW. Correctly proportioned head with good markings, large and mobile ears set at the back of her head. Coat in good condition with good fringeing on ears and tail. Moved elegantly. 2 Foynes, May & Whitehill’s Lafay Has the Last Word with Amicae. Feminine bitch with very appealing head and expression. Level topline and well set and carried tail.

LB 1 Walsh’s Jogealin Moon Star at Purepixie. Loved her head, well proportioned, fine muzzle, dark, rounded eyes, slightly rounded with large, mobile ears. Medium length neck leading to well laid shoulders, straight front and level topline. High set tail, carried correctly over her back. Moved well. 2 Waller & Maskell’s Kazkell Theme for a Dream for Lilnrose. Another attractive bitch, with good markings and elegant and free flowing action. 3 Headley’s Farleysbane Firefly at Fafford.
OB 1 Miller & Ryan’s Feorlig Wake Up Maggie JW. 2 Lees’ Lafford Penny Black. Feminine with delightful head and expression, dark and rounded eyes, well set and carried ears. Correct topline, high set tail that she carried arched over her back. 3 Aitkin’s Lafford Fancy That for Elfuago.
Special Phalene D/B 1 Maskell & Waller’s Lilnrose Ears Looking at You Kazkell. Dark and rounded eyes, level topline with high set tail. Moved well. 2 Bruce’s Tijuana Mayhem. 3 Maskell’s Rayol Sparkling Gem.
SB D/B 1 Keown’s Jorgealin Midnight Magic for Kingshaven. Balanced overall with well proportioned head and well set ears. Level topline, high set tail. Coat in good condition with good fringes on ears and tail. 2 Verity & Moor’s Tijuana Starmaker. 3 Green’s Sukanto Eluva Ticklemouse for Rubywings.
