Junior (1)

1 Hackett’s Curlyco My Hot Rockstar. Well grown and developing 17 months D. Lovely head with good shape and correct eyes. Straight, well boned front with elbows nicely tucked in and good shoulder placement. Firm topline with strength over his loins. Good depth of body for his age. Well angulated quarters with lovely width of thigh. Presented in good coat and shown to advantage. Best of Breed.

Large Munsterlander

Grad (1)

1 Gray and Evans’ Qualitil Sphies Sensation. Promising 10 months D. Well boned through with plenty of body and good size for his age. Pleasing head with some work but will break for the better with maturity. Good with and depth to his body. Firm in topline and correct in tail set. Should go on to do well.

Open (1)

1 Uherkovichova and Gray’s Franorst Lady Pamela. Hard to believe that this one is 7. So fit and well in gleaming coat. Decent head with good length of muzzle, strong in neck with well boned legs. Good length of rib giving balance to the picture. Correct tail set. Good rear angulation and width of second thigh. Moved well in profile Best of Breed.

Irish Setters- I took over Wendy Johnson’s entry. I hope she is feeling better now. Many thanks to the exhibitors for accepting a last-minute replacement.

Puppy (1)

1 Longbottom and Stewart Ritchie’s Gwendariff Smart Red Jacket

Typical 8 months boy, raw but showing signs of promise. Refined head with well-shaped eyes and correct ear placement. Clean neck of good length leads to well angulated shoulders. Well boned through with good depth of chest for his age. Should go on to do well.

Junior (4,2abs)

1 Richardson’s Gwendariff I’m Fool Proof

Just 13 months with a  balanced head, clean neck of good length and correctly sloping shoulders.  Good width over his quarters and well-turned stifles. Moved well going away  from me. Looked well in profile when stacked.

2 Murchison’s Kerryfair Please Please Me

At 12 months, needs to settle to show himself to advantage but plenty to like here. Good head with soft expression and dark eyes. Well off for bone with good depth to his chest. String over the quarters.

Grad (4,1)

1 McNeil and Boyd McNeil’s Glennlokhen Deveron

At 2 is coming together nicely. I liked this one a lot. She was carrying plenty of body and not showing to advantage, but everything is there to see. Presented a balanced outline with strength to her topline and firmness over her loins. She has a feminine head which is well balanced, dark eyes and soft expression. There is plenty of rear angulation and hocks are nicely let down. Not over done in any way.

2 Borthwick’s Lotushill Katsura

Another 2 year old looking the part. Lovely head with correct stop, dark eyes and well placed ears. Well boned through but still feminine. Lovely depth to her ribs and good topline. She has well angulated quarters and good tail set.

3 Davie’s Lochfrae Kiki Dee

Limit (3)

1 McNeil and Boyd McNeil’s Gwendariff Gonna Go For Gold at Glenlokhen

This 3 year old is looking well and is so honest and good to go over. Good head with defined stop and good length of muzzle. Strong clean neck of decent length leads to a balanced body. Good depth and length of ribs, firm couplings and strength over his quarters. He looked well standing and moved well enough to beat his kennel mate for Best of Breed.

2 Davie’s Lochfrae Nina Simone

Well headed two year old, with dark eyes and soft expression. Clean neck of good length leads to well laid shoulders. Correct in front. She has good rear angulation and hocks are well let down. I just preferred the movement of the winner today.

3 Murchison’s Pawsword Paperback Writer

Open (1)

1 Borthwick’s Northamber Runs Riot at Lotushill.

Feminine and balanced 6 year old with good head, clean neck and good depth to her ribs. She is strong over the quarters and short from hock to heel. Just needing a bit more coat to compete in the challenge.
