Glen Of Imaal Terrier Association

Glen of Imaal Terrier Association.

16th June 2019

It was an honour and a pleasure to judge the Open Show of the Glen of Imaal Terrier Association. Many thanks to the hard-working committee for making us feel welcome and for the unique gift. I was very pleased with my winners.

Puppy D (1)

1 Dickson and Campions Amhard Porghellik Pirate

Just 6 months and attending his and his owners first show. Showing plenty of potential. Head is coming along nicely. He is well boned with a strong neck and good width of chest. Well-muscled through, he held his topline on the move and his positive hind movement clinched him Best Puppy in Show. Will be interesting to see how he comes on.

Post Grad D (2)

1 Harley’s Aberann Running Down a Dream

Wheaten boy, just out of junior. Has a good head with correct bite. Good width to his front with nice lay back of shoulder and is well developed in chest for his age. Firm over the loins and correct topline.

2 Hickman’s Romainville Rock a Fella

Similar age to the winner but different type. Good head with strong jaws and good width. Strong neck of good length. Correct feet. Just preferred width of front and shoulders of the winner.

Limit D (2)

1 Hardy’s Amhard Manhattan

This 2-year-old is coming along well and is beginning to look the part. Good head with decent proportions and strength of foreface. He is balanced in outline with a good width to his front. Firm topline leads to correct tail set. He has good rear angulation and width over his quarters. Coat of good texture.

2 Pierce’s Rollo The Great

Pleasing in head with good eyes and ear placement. He has a good turn of stifle and is short from hock to heel. Coat not at its best today.

Open D (2)

1 Alstead’s Golden Spurs

This mature lad is looking the part. Worthy Champion. Presented a typical outline, masculine without excess. Expressive head with good eyes and width of skull. Strong neck leads to well laid shoulders. Well developed in body with good width and depth to his ribs. Firm topline with good tail set and strength over his quarters. He looked the part today. Best Dog.

2 Hardy’s Amhard Off The Cuff

Not as finished as the winner but lots to like here. Good head with strong jaws and good width. Well-muscled neck of correct length. Good shoulder angulation. He has a balanced body with strength to his topline. Moved well both ways as well as in profile. Reserve Best Dog

Veteran D (2)

1 Frasers’s Kirikee Celtic Warrior

8 years and looking as well as ever and in super condition. Masculine head with good front and well laid shoulders. Good width of ribs. He is in good body with rounded quarters. Moved steadily and true. Best Veteran.

2 Hadley’s Ch Donvaleset Rebus

Now in his thirteenth year and in lovely body for his age. Typical expression with strong neck. Moved tidily.

Puppy B (2)

1 George’s Romainville Rocks the Ritz

Both of these were just 6 months and obvious babies with plenty to like.

Good head with keen expression, good length of neck and shoulder angulation. Correct topline leads to well angulated quarters. She has good bone for her age and neat tidy feet. Edged this class on her more settled movement.

2 Hardy and Harley’s Amhard Peanut Brittle

Another promising baby, super head and eyes. Well placed ears. Lovely feet and in good coat for her age. Just needs time to develop in body. Should go on to do well.

Junior B (1)

1 Hardy and Harley’s Amhard Peanut Brittle

Post Grad B (1)

1 Studd and Wilson’s Wickholm New Moon

Balanced in head with strong jaws and good eyes. Strong neck of correct length and good layback of shoulder. Developed in body with good width of ribs. In firm condition. Just a bit unsettled on the move today.

Limit B (3,1abs)

1 Kirkwood’s Jeonty Letty Be Magic

Well balanced 2-year-old with lovely head, neck and shoulders. Good width to her front. Correct tail set and looked well on the move. She presented a pleasing picture standing and moving. Just lacked the coat to challenge for the top awards.

2 Hardy’s Amhard Indy Kate

One I liked as a youngster. Finer type of head with correct proportions. Keen but friendly expression. Good width of ribs. She is strong and wide over her quarters. In good coat. Just not as true on the move as the winner today.

Open B (3,1)

1 Alstead’s Ch Sigrid Helga At Pantcottage

At three is mature and presents a balanced picture. Strong in head without being overdone. Muscular neck of good length leads to well angulated shoulders. Well developed ribcage with strength over her couplings gives a correct top line. She has width over her quarters and a good turn of stifle. She moved straight and true to win BB and BIS.

2 George’s Romainville Izzy Wizzy

Another good one. Balanced head with width and strong jaws Super body properties with good depth and plenty of width. She is firm and muscled over her quarters. Presented well in good condition RBB and RBIS.

Veteran B (3)

1 Smith’s Bendikes Edith May

Balanced in head with strong neck and well laid shoulders. Firm in top line with well developed quarters. Hocks are well let down. Presented in good coat. She moved soundly and true if a little reluctant at first.

2 Lamb and Voge’s Eileen Alannah

Nearly 8 and so sound and honest. Pleasing head with typical expression. Well bodied with good width and depth of chest. Strong and wide over her quarters. In good condition.

3 Statham-Cook’s Baillielands Easca
