A great honour for me to be invited to judge at the British Boxer Club Open Show, such super hospitality and some lovely dogs today. Temperaments superb throughout all the classes and most dogs took the floor surface in their stride. Many thanks to everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. 

Class 1 VD (2 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: 27 Higgs, Reid & Bunyan’s MacWatt He’s Charming. At 11 and a half years old, what a pleasure to go over this red male. Stands on a straight front with nice bone and good feet. Strong in the neck with a nice head-piece and super expression. Strong through the body, with a good rear and correct tail carriage. Excellent rear movement for his age. 

Class 2 MPD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 10 Cherry’s Cherryforge Gallileo. 7 month old black brindle making a nice shape and outline. Stands true in front with tight feet, correct in shoulder and good length of neck. Attractive head with neat ears, nice dark eye and correct bite. Holds a firm top-line and under-line with a nice tail-set and carriage. Good strong rear for his age with correct angulation. Moves cleanly and soundly when viewed from all angles. 

2nd: 46 McQueen’s Mr Specter Suits Bogonzo. 8 month old black brindle, well off for size and stands on a straight front with strong bone and tight feet. Correct in neck and shoulders, pleasing head-piece with neat ears, correct in eye and good width and sweep of under-jaw. Nice depth of chest and holds a good top-line and correct tail-set and carriage. True in the rear and moves out well, just needs to fill his frame. 

Class 3 PD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 54 Pynegar’s Berwynfa Billionaire. Loved the type and shape of this 10 month old puppy. Correct in front, strong bone, tight feet and excellent neck and shoulders. Such a quality head and expression, nice broad skull, neat ears, good eye, strong muzzle, nice turn of under-jaw and correct in the mouth. Holds a firm top-line, good depth of chest and nice spring of rib. Tail correctly set and carried, strong through the rear and very sound when viewed from all angles. Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy In Show. 

Class 4 JD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 14 Crooks’ Flyingfox Red Hot For Uptonponds. 15 month old red dog of correct size and shape. Quality head with a lovely expression, good neck and shoulders and super, parallel front with tight feet. Good depth of body and spring of rib, strong and well-muscled through the rear and moves true with positive reach and drive. So much to like about this youngster. 

2nd: 5 Brown & Hutchings’ Winuwuk Jay Zee AI. 15 month old brindle of nice type and making a good shape and outline. Quality head-piece with neat ears, nice eyes and good width and sweep of under-jaw. Front still needs to tighten a touch both standing and moving. Correct in top-line and tuck-up with a good tail-set. Stands on a strong, well-muscled rear with nice angles, giving good rear movement once settled. 

3rd: 19 Feaver & Cormack’s Sugarwood Truluvkis

Class 5 YD (2 entry) Abs: 1 

1st: 52 Pynegar & Loasby’s Berwynfa Fifty Shadz Freed. 20 month old red brindle, well off for size and making a nice shape, just needs to fill into his frame a touch. Pleasing in head with a good width of skull, neat ears, clear eye, strong in the muzzle and correct in the mouth. Good neck and shoulders, lovely front and feet, nice depth of chest and spring of rib, firm top-line and correct tail-set and carriage. Strong in the rear with good angles and sound and true on the move. 

Class 6 ND (2 entries) Abs: 1 

1st: 33 Jones & Charles’ Charlons Perseus. 17 month old brindle of a good size and shape. Pleasing in head and nice expression, strong in the neck with correct shoulders. Nice parallel front with good bone and tight feet, just knuckles over a touch when over-baited. Correct in top-line and under-line and good strong rear with nice angles. Moves soundly when viewed from all angles. 

Class 7 GD (5 Entries) Abs: 2 

1st: 22 Godwin’s Sultash Cunco. 2 year old brindle making a nice shape and outline. Well off for bone and substance with a quality front and tight feet. Nice neck and shoulders, lovely head and expression with neat ears, good eyes, nice width and turn up of underjaw and correct mouth. Good top-line, nice spring of rib and strong rear with a correct tail-set and carriage. Moves out soundly, such a lot to like about this boy. 

2nd: 43 Longley’s Attomic Mirror Man. 18 month old red dog with a good shape and outline. Pleasing in head with a nice expression, strong neck, and good shoulders. True in front with tight feet, correct in top-line and under-line with a good tail-set and carriage. Well-muscled through the rear with nice angles and moves out well. 

3rd: 63 Spencer’s Bonmac Jack The Lad At Ashronsha 

Class 8 PGD (3 Entries) Abs: 1 

1st: 55 Pynegar’s Maranseen Linesman At Berwynfa. 14 month old black brindle with a quality head and expression and making a super shape and outline. Lovely front and feet, strong bone and correct length of leg to depth of chest. Firm top-line and just the right amount of tuck-up, strong through the rear with good width and bend of stifle and correct tail-set and carriage. Really puts himself together on the move and in excellent coat and condition. Pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog. 

2nd: 6 Brown & Hutchings’ Mirak Poseidon At Winuwuk (USA Imp). 2 year old red dog, well-muscled and turned out in hard condition. Strong in the front with good feet, correct length of neck with a quality head and lovely expression. Good top-line and strong through the rear with nice angulation. Good movement in front, just needs to settle for his rear movement to come together. 

Class 9 LD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 7 Brown & Hutchings’ Winuwuk In The Name Of Lust. 2 year old brindle making a nice shape and outline. Quality head with neat ears, good eye colour and correct through the mouth. Good width of under-jaw and muzzle, correct through the neck and shoulders and stands on a nice front with tight feet. Firm in the top-line with just the right amount of tuck-up. Well-muscled through the rear with a good tail-set and carriage. Moves positively and soundly when viewed from all angles. 

2nd: 18 Elsworth Winuwuk Close Encounter For Misstricks AI. 3 year old brindle of nice type. Correct in front with super feet, excellent neck and shoulders and has a quality head and expression. Firm through the body with a nice spring of rib, good length of leg to depth of body and excellent tail-set and carriage. Strong and firm through the rear and correct on the move producing a nice side-gait. 

3rd: 42 Loasby’s Sashbob Le Sorcerer JW 

Class 10 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 23 Griffiths’ Lanfrese Jalisco. 17 month old brindle really took my eye. Fabulous shape and outline, stands on a super front with tight feet, firm in the neck and shoulders with such a quality head-piece, which just oozes breed type. Holds a correct top-line and nice depth of chest. Stands parallel and well-muscled in the rear and has a good tail-set and carriage. This dog excels on the move both coming and going, producing a lovely free side-gait. Turned out in super coat and condition. Pleased to award him Best Dog and Reserve Best In Show.

2nd: 37 Kelly’s Casemates Gandalf. 3 year old brindle. Another quality dog standing on a super front with good feet and nice bone. Strong through the neck of shoulders with a quality head-piece and such a pleasing expression. Correct and firm in the top-line, nice spring of rib and good tail-set and carriage. Excellent through his rear with plenty of muscle and nice bend of stifle. Another dog who really uses himself on the move and turned out in lovely hard condition. 

3rd: 49 Mitchell’s Diceulon The Desperado With Winuwuk JW 

Class 11 VB (1 Entries) Abs: 1 

Class 12 MPB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 38 Kelly’s Conchobar Hermione At Casemates. 7 month old quality brindle puppy, standing true in front with tight feet. Good neck and shoulders and such a pleasing head and expression for her age. Stands on a nice length of leg, good top-line, tail-set and carriage and correct and parallel in the rear. Moves out so soundly for her age. Best Puppy Bitch.

2nd: 24 Griffiths’ Lanfrese Casall. 6 month old black brindle showing plenty of promise and quality. Nice feminine head and excellent front and feet. Correct tail-set and carriage and stands on a nice rear with good angles. Moves cleanly in front, just needs to tighten in the rear but this should come with age. 

Class 13 PB (1 Entries) Abs: 1 

Class 14 JB (5 Entries) Abs: 2 

1st: 58 Seeney’s Maranseen Bespoke. Black brindle showing plenty of type. Pleasing in head, producing a lovely expression. Nice parallel front and tight feet, firm through the neck and shoulders with a nice spring of rib and good length of leg. Correct in top-line and just the right amount of tuck-up. Such a good tail-set and carriage, strong and well-muscled through the rear with excellent bend of stifle. Turned out in super coat and condition and so very sound on the move, producing a lovely, free-flowing side-gait. 

2nd: 34 Jones & Charles’ Charlons Astute. 17 month old red and white bitch, with plenty of style and put down in lovely, hard condition. Has a quality head-piece with neat ears, good eye colour and correct through the mouth. Stands on a good, parallel front and strong through the rear. Correct top-line and tail-set and moves out soundly with plenty of purpose. 

3rd: 15 Crooks’ Flyingfox Flyinghigh For Uftonponds 

Class 15 YB (4 Entries) Abs: 2 

1st: 17 Drinkwater’s Maranseen Seduction At Sulez. Stunning 14 month old brindle and white bitch, just loved everything about this girl! Stands so true in front with the tightest of feet and well off for bone with just the right amount of leg length to depth of body. Super neck and shoulders with a fabulous head-piece, neat in the ear, lovely dark eye colour and just the right amount of turn-up of under-jaw and width of muzzle. Has a lovely firm top-line and quality under-line, correct in tail-set and carriage and stands true and parallel in the rear, which is well-muscled and correct in all angles. Such a pleasure to watch on the move both coming and going, producing a lovely side-gait for her age. Turned out in super coat and condition, an absolute pleasure to award her Best Bitch and Best In Show. 

2nd: 47 Merritt’s Merquin Million Dollar Baby. Another brindle of good all round type. Pleasing in head and stands on a good front with nice bone. Correct through the neck and shoulders with a good top-line and firm through the rear. Good angles and moves soundly. Just a little unsettled, which affected her top-line and tail-carriage on the move today. 

Class 16 NB (5 Entries) Abs: 2 

1st: 30 Jinks’ Casemates Magic Touch At Stangard. Red brindle of good overall type and correct in size. Stands on a lovely parallel front with tight feet. Strong and firm in the neck with a quality head, neat ears, good eye colour and correct in the mouth. Correct in top-line and under-line, nice length of leg and spring of rib and well-muscled through the rear. Moves out well when viewed from all angles and turned out in nice, hard condition. 

2nd: 12 Cherry’s Cherryforge Starlight. Black brindle, well off for size and substance and has a quality head with a nice expression. Firm in the neck with good front and feet, excellent spring of rib  and correct in top-line and tail-set. Strong and well-muscled through the rear, just a little unsettled on the move today. 

Class 17 GB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 50 Mitchell’s Diceulon Idaho. Red brindle of nice type, shape and outline. Stands correct in front with tight feet. Correct in neck and shoulder with a good head-piece and the right expression. Excellent top-line, tail-set and carriage, just the right amount of tuck-up and strong and well-muscled through the rear. Turned out in lovely coat and condition and moves positively and soundly when viewed from all angles. 

2nd: 31 Jinks’ Stangard Well Why Not. Black brindle, a touch on the heavy side. Head-piece is pleasing, firm in the neck, just a touch heavy over the shoulder. OK in front, correct in top-line, tail-set and carriage. Well-muscled through the rear and quite sound on the move. 

Class 18 PGB (3 Entries) Abs: 1 

1st: 8 Brown & Hutchings’ Winuwuk Sun Kissed. 2 year old red bitch with plenty of type and a smart overall shape. Stands on a good front with nice feet, correct in neck and shoulder and quality head-piece with a super expression. Correct and firm in the top-line with just the right amount of tuck-up and a good tail-set and carriage. Strong and well-muscled in the rear and turned out in super coat and condition. Very sound behind, just a little unsettled in front coming back towards you but overall a quality bitch. 

2nd: 59 Seeney’s Maranseen Illustrious. Black brindle bitch of good size and substance. Well off for bone and stands on a quality front and firm through the neck and shoulders. Very pleasing in head with a lovely expression. Excellent in top-line and under-line, correct tail-set and carriage and strong and well-muscled in the rear. Sound on the move but rather unsettled. 

Class 19 LB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 

1st: 16 Crooks’ Uftonponds Making Waves JW. Red brindle of nice type with a pleasing head and quality expression. Firm through the neck and shoulders, stands on a parallel front with good feet and just the right amount of bone. Nice length of leg to depth of body, good spring of rib, firm in the top-line and correct in tail-set and carriage. Strong and firm through the rear, clean both coming and going, producing a nice side-gait. 

2nd: 64 Spencer’s Ashronsha Wildest Dreams. Black brindle of correct size and just the right amount of substance. Pleasing in head, firm through the neck with good shoulders, firm top-line and correct tail-set and carriage. Stands parallel and well-muscled behind and moves out soundly when viewed from all angles. 

3rd: 32 Jinks’ Talow Country Comfort At Stangard 

Class 20 OB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 

1st: 60 Seeney’s Maranseen Encore. Black brindle and white of lovely quality. Beautiful, feminine head just oozing breed type. Firm in the neck and correct in shoulder. Stands on a lovely, parallel front with the tightest of feet, good depth of chest to length of leg and a nice spring of rib. Correct in top-line with a good tail-set and carriage, nice under-line with just the right amount of tuck-up and strong and firm in the rear with good width and bend of stifle. Very sound on the move, holding a firm top-line when side-gaiting. Pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch. 

2nd: 35 Jones & Charles’ Charlons Nostalgia JW. Another quality, typey bitch making a good shape and outline. Pleasing in head with a lovely expression, true in front and good neck and shoulders. Firm in the top-line with a nice tail-set and carriage. Quality rear and moves out with purpose and drive. 

3rd: 65 Spencer’s Ashronsha Sweet Dreams
