What a great honour to be invited to judge both the Working and Pastoral Groups and BIS at this prestigious Group Open show. I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the invitation and congratulate Acting Secretary, Lucy Mottram and her hard-working team for running an excellent show. The Groups were well filled with many quality exhibits present and thanks to the breed Judges for sending them though.

BIS: The stunning Bouvier Des Flandres, Avice Airbourne With Bouvpilot. Still fairly young but bursting with excellent breed type and in no way exaggerated. A medium sized dog with excellent substance, compact outline and well balanced all through. Excellent head piece showing strength in both skull and muzzle. Really comes together on the move showing reach, drive and power. Good coat, beautifully put down and handled to bring out his best. A thoroughly worthy winner. RBIS: The Hun. Puli, Ch. Weetoneon Polly Flinders. Super bitch from any angle who excels with her ultra-feminine charms. I gave her the breed at Windsor Ch. last year and looking great here today. Correct square outline, excellent conformation, nimble and in full, floor length corded coat. At 6 years shows no signs of slowing down. Moved with a typical gait. Thought they made a great pair for the final run-off.

Working Group: G1 Bouvier & BIS. G2 PWD, Ch. Rarjo Quicksilver. Pushed the winner fairly close here. A glamourous dog with an eye-catching colour. Good head, pleasing conformation and coat. Sound, easy mover. Correctly set and carried tail. Well presented and handled. G3 Dobermann, Sant Kreal Jewel For Supeta. Ultra- feminine bitch. Square outline. Correct head, dark eye and typical expression. Well made all through. Still young at just over a year and needs time to finish but must have a bright future. G4 Newfoundland bitch, Mileoak Sansa Stark. Another promising youngster. Strong with plenty of substance all through. Beautiful head and expression. Stunning outline on the stack. Correct weather-proof coat . Moved very well, particularly from profile.

Pastoral Group: G1 Hungarian Puli & RBIS. G2 Twinan Tight Squeeze. Beautifully made Pem Corgi bitch. Excellent foxy head, feminine expression, so good to go over on the table with excellent bone and stands on correct feet. Moved out well. Should gain her title with ease. G3 Beauceron, Overhill Total Eclipse. I judged this masculine, well grown boy last year, he took BOB but I commented he still needed time to drop into his frame. Good to see him now, mature and looking the part. Of pleasing type, so good all through and excels on the move, sound and true out and back and a reachy, open side gait. Excellent tail set and carriage. G4 Smooth Collie, Foxearth Fudge Wynele. Only 10 months but what great promise and I thought her quite outstanding. Delightful clean, wedge-shaped head, correct stop, almond eye and excellent conformation. Uses her well -set, tipped ears to best advantage. Sound mover in all directions. Did well to take her placing here in this strong adult Group and not surprised to see her take PG1 & BPIS. Wish she was mine!

AVNSC PAST/WKG

OD (2) 1st Slade’s Vint Lord Nelson At Potterspride. Well grown, masculine RBT. Eye-catching and impressive in outline. Excellent head, strong skull and well filled muzzle. Scissor bite , dark eye and large black nose. Good reach of neck, set at the correct angle, balanced angulation both ends and a deep, broad chest. Firm topline and muscular loins. Moved out well, covering the ground with ease. Well presented coat of good texture. Best AVNSC.

OB (1)1st Eston’s Shadlian Grand Entrance. Promising RBT youngster of just over 12 months. Delightful temperament and enjoying her day. Good type with plenty of bone and substance for her size and age. Good head shape, overall soundly constructed. Needs to settle on the move but did enough here. Res BAVNSC

Wkg /Past Puppy Stakes

PD (13) 1st Hamadryas Sword. Cracking GSD pup. Super outline on the stack. Excellent head, masculine, well proportioned with a moderate stop. Dark expressive eye, well set and used ears. Reachy neck, excellent length and lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Good depth of chest for his age. Firm, straight back line, short loin, excellent quarters. Covered the ground with plenty of scope from profile but can settle a bit going away. Should have a good future.

2nd Beaugency Boozy Roots. Lovely fawn Briard. Just 6 months and shows much potential. Wouldn’t change him anywhere at this stage. Gave a good account of himself both on the stack and on the move. Sound in all directions. Well set tail, carried low. Good puppy coat of excellent colour.

3rd Winarose Wanderin Star. Catalan Sheepdog.

PB (25) 1st Tabanyaruu Tuuka Ruuletti. Pretty, feminine Finnish Lapphund. Lovely wedge shaped head, moderate stop, good eye shape, scissor bite and well set-on ears. Medium neck, chest developing well, balanced angles. Can come up on the leg a bit as she looks a little long, but overall very promising and moved soundly with a medium stride. Well set tail, carried high on the move. Good coat for her age.

2nd Sundabish Carnaby Street. Just loved this Bullmastiff baby on the stack for her excellent outline and sound breed type, 6 months and shows great potential. Correct head shape, length and breadth of muzzle, dark eye and small well set ears. Still loose on the move but I think she will have a great future. Her handler got every inch out of her.

3rd Bubbleton Don’t Burst My Bubble With Vaucluse. Hun. Puli.
