My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge and to my steward for keeping everything so seamless. I had a very enjoyable morning with some lovely dogs to judge in a beautiful setting.

Cocker Spaniel

Puppy

(6,2a) 1. Craig, Mr D. Alisma Andersun - 11 month old b/r dog who caught my eye as he came into the ring. He had a lovely masculine head, with a good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. He was very deep throughout and had ample bone. He moved with purpose around the ring and was a real merry cocker puppy. Pleased to award him BP and later hear he took PG2.

2. Craig, Mr D. Alisma Amiable – 11 months old b/r bitch who I later discovered was the litter sister to 1. She has a lovely feminine head and like her brother is deep, cobby and well off for bone. Just unsettled on the move today.

Post Graduate

(6,2a) 1. Morris, Miss C. Riondel Caribbea Blu – b/r bitch, her dark eyes and good head gave for a soft expression. She has a lovely deep chest and well sprung ribs, short throughout and good angulation both fore and aft. I really liked her and once settled on the move she maintained a good topline and the wagging tail finished the picture.

2. Bowen, Mr D C & Mrs S L. Charbonnel Nell N’Shapiro – another good b/r bitch. She’s well-made throughout with good depth and bone. She was a lovely picture stacked and moved around the ring well, just unlucky to meet 1 on such good form.

Limit

(4,2a) 1. Morris, Miss C. Riondel Candyman – B/r dog who I just loved. He stands on good bone, with nice substance throughout. He is short in loin with well sprung ribs and this is completed by his well-muscled rear and short hocks. He was full of enthusiasm going around the ring and I was very pleased to award him BOB.

2. Perkins, Mr L & Mrs J. Rockllocers Ice Crystal – B/r bitch who was nicely presented, kind expression. Maintained a good topline and moved with enthusiasm around the ring.

Open

(4,1a) 1. Bowen, Mr D C & Mrs S L. Charbonnel Rich N’Famous – B/r dog with a good head and eye, he has a nice front with good bone and neat well-padded feet. Lovely depth and rear angulation, he was beautifully presented and was a strong contender for BOB.

2. Morris, Miss C. Riondel Muphys Law – B/r dog who had many of the attributes to this exhibitors previous dogs. I liked his overall shape and took my eye when stacked, just not as settled as 1 when moving today.
