Judge Colin Goodswen (Alphadal)

I was absolutely delighted to be invited to judge Dalmatians for the very first time at this Lovely, well organised open show. Thank you so much to all of the committee for allowing me to do so.

I also would like to thank all of those that entered under me, I had such high quality to go over.

Puppy D/B (5 entries, 3 absentees), 1st Sampson's DALSTORM GOLDEN GUINEA,

Handsome 6 month old black spotted Male. Well decorated, correct head and good length of neck to well defined withers. Nice fore angles with well laid back shoulders, lovely straight front legs with nice round bone and tight cat feet. Moderate angulation to the rear, but overall well balanced. Moved with drive and nice smooth action when not being a bouncy pup. Pleased to award Best Puppy.

2nd Millington's CAPEARLLA IMPERIAL TOPAZ, 8 month old liver spotted female. Lovely feminine head and deep amber coloured eyes. Nice length of neck and level topline. Good rear angulation with nice turn of stifle and well defined hocks. Not very settled today which affected her movement.

Junior D/B (1 entry, 0 absentees), 1st Alcock's KAYJULE KEPLER AT DALSPARTAN, 17 month old black spotted Male. Nicely decorated young man with a lovely head, nice dark eyes and correct bite. Good length of neck, nice straight front legs down to tight cat feet. Good bend of stifle and well defined hocks. Moved ok.

Post Graduate D/B (5 entries, 1 absentee), 1st Finlay's DALFIN ACTUAL FACT, this 21 month old black spotted male impresses me more and more each time I see him. Nice head with dark eye and correct bite. Elegant long neck to well defined withers and level topline. He has well sprung ribs and good depth of brisket. Lovely straight front legs with nicely rounded bone. Well angled rear which sets a nice profile on the stand. Moved well, very well handled and only just missed out for BOB as my Open winner showed slightly more drive around the ring. Awarded my RBOB.

2nd Crookes DALMARK THE RATAFIA, 2 year 7 month old liver spotted female. Lovely kind expression with feminine head and good length of neck. Balanced angles for and aft with correct tail set. Nice tight feet. At one with her handler and obviously well schooled.

Open D/B (8 entries, 2 absentees, 1w/d), 1st Croft and Cobb's KALOKAIRIES BULLET PROOF, This 3year old liver spotted male demanded my attention in this class. Very handsome, strong head with ample muzzle and stop, nice dark eyes and well framed head with ears carried close. Long elegant neck to well defined withers. Good depth of chest with well sprung ribs. Moderate angles fore and aft with correct height/length ratio. Moved with effortless power and drive, at one with his handler.. delighted to award my BOB and later went on to Utility Group 2.

2nd Millington and Holland's CAPEARLLA ITS ON ICE JW, 23 month old black spotted male. Lots to like about this boy, well decorated, lovely head and expression. Nice straight front legs, fair depth of chest with level topline to correct tail set. Good rear angulation and tight cat like feet all round, shown in lovely condition today. Out moved by 1st today as not too settled, but impressive none the less.
