Guildford & District Canine Society

Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge and for the excellent hospitality which really was second to none despite the non alcoholic mulled wine and mini mince pies. Special thanks to my steward Wendy Mooney who was extremely efficient.

Rottweiler

This breed was an “add on” for me after the scheduled judge was unable to fulfil the appointment. I was impressed with the condition of all the dogs here today and all had correct dentition.

Special Yearling (5 entries, 2 absent) All three in this class were impressively muscled. 1st, BOB & BP Wheaton’s Ausries The Real Thing for Acinonyx Really nice head with sufficiently broad skull and dark eyes. He has a strong neck into well laid shoulders, in fact he had the best front in the entry. Level topline and a strong well angulated rear with good width of second thigh. He stands on good bone and feet. Presented in tip top condition and handled to perfection. You can still see the juvenile in him especially on the move but he covers the ground accurately and with drive. His best is yet to come and I look forward to seeing how he progresses. 2nd. Allen’s Jodipas Just in Time Another quality boy with a really super head. His shoulders aren’t upright but they weren’t as laid back as my winner. Good length of upperarm and good bone and feet. Firm topline, good depth of chest and a strong, well angulated backend. Hope none of Santa’s elves were watching him today as he will have been put on the naughty list but his handler worked admirably with him to get the best out of him. Moved ok. 3rd. Chamberlain’s Kenynten Apple Ant of Rottstar Post

Graduate (3 entries, 1 absent) 1st& RBOB Chamberlain’s Rebeckmar Cass of Rottstar A decent headed girl with enough width between the ears and well boned cheeks. Good neck, firm straight topline. She had a little too much length of second thigh which made her look over angulated and thus, unbalanced. The overangulation caused her to side wind on the move. In lovely condition. 2nd. Handley’s Dortmund Double Agent Another one who would be on the naughty list as he was really giving his handler a hard time today. It was such a shame as he has the most gorgeous head and was beautifully constructed all through and in really excellent, hard muscular condition. Unfortunately it was just impossible to assess his movement as he was either pacing or bouncing the whole time.

Pyrenean Mountain Dogs

All present had rear double dewclaws.

Puppy (2 entries, 1 absent) 1st & BP Tadd’s Pashme De La Vallee Du Girou with Kricarno (Imp Fra) NAF TAF If I could have brought one home with me today, it would have been this boy. He has a lovely head and expression and has good pigment. Good neck, good front and he had good depth of chest. Correct topline, ribs well back and he has excellent bone. A baby on the move but nonetheless, he moves with drive.

Special Yearling (2 entries, 1 absent) 1st. Tadd’s Kricarno Katchmeifyoukan 22 months old with a head of good proportions and good pigment. She is well boned, nicely constructed and has a coat of good texture with undercoat. Moved well in profile.

Open (3 entries) A difficult class to judge as all three were so different in type. 1st & BOB Tadd & Horwood’s Kricarno Krystal Kopykat Litter sister to the winner of the previous class and she is another with a really good head of correct proportions and good ears. Lovely pigment. She is well constructed all through with ribs well back and short loin. Correct topline and she has excellent bone and feet. Excellent coat with undercoat. Like her sister, she is balanced but at the moment, has the edge on movement and maturity. Delighted to see her take a place in a good group later. 2nd & RBOB Reilly’s Ch/Ir Sh Ch Lisjovia Boris Bear at Darmaror JW ShCM ShCEx CW19 Not the typical head of my winner but he has good pigment and a kind expression. A nicely constructed boy all through who is presented immaculately and in tip top condition. Excellent bone and feet. Coat more profuse than all the others here, of good texture and undercoat present. Moves well. 3rd. Dearman & Henson’s Shiresoak Nanook at Pyrekees
