My thanks to the society for inviting me to judge at this friendly show.

AVNSC Utility

Minor Puppy (1, 0 Abs)

    1st – Furse's CHARNEY GLAMOUR GIRL (Japanese Spitz) 6 mth Bitch. Nice clean wedge shaped head, with good eye and ear. Correct proportion of body, with well sprung ribs and a good, short back. Coorect cat foot, and nicely plumed tail. Still very much in puppy coat, as is to be expected at this age, movement slightly erratic as yet.

Puppy (3, 1 Abs) A very hard class, with 2 lovely puppies, both good examples of their respective breed.

    1st – Moore's MICCOSUKEES NEVER FORGET AT FILLIPERS (Schnauzer) 10 & ½ Mth Salt & Pepper Dog. Strong, masculine head with good drak, oval eye and correct ear. Very good lay of shoulder, with nice and straight foreleg. Nice, straight back, with correct slope and good spring of rib. Excellent muscle tone to hindquarters, leading down to correct cat feet. Excellent movement, with drive and purpose.

    2nd – Rice's RICOX ALL ABOUT LOVE (Tibetan Spaniel) 11 Mth Gold Sable bitch. Good head of correct size and shape and a well cushioned muzzle. Bright, expressive eyes, and well set ears gave a very pleasing expression. Well set neck, with shawl just coming on, good lay of shoulder and correct bow to fore. Well sprung ribs and a firm level topline, which held well. Good muscle tone, fore and rear, led down to correct hare foot. Tail well set, and carried gaily. A little unsettled on the table and on the move today, unfortunately.

        1st – Moore's FILLIPERS AS GOOD AS NEW (Schnauzer) 17 Mth Salt & Pepper bitch. A nice head, with correct ear and eye. Nice arch to neck leading down to well laid shoulders. Forequarters held good, smooth muscle tone, and correct foot. Good, deep chest and a very good topline, led on to well muscled rear, and excellent hindlegs, giving good drive to the movement.

Veteran (1, 0 Abs)

    1st – Rice's SAGRAEL MINI ME OF RICOX VW (Tibetan Spaniel) Nearly 14 Yr old Red dog, and a testament to the breed's longevity. Good shape to the head, some teeth not quite there, but to be expected with the advance of years, with a well cushioned muzzle. Good lay of shoulder, and good muscle tone for the age. Still bright-eyed and gay in character. Rich vibrancy to colour, and a lovely coat and tail. Movement was good, a little stilted at times due only to age.

Minor Puppy (2, 0 Abs)

    1st – Dodd's ANADEIA DANCE TO THE MUSIC (Chinese Crested) 7 Mth Hairless bitch of Deer Type. Good elongation to skull, and no excess of wrinkle, with a graceful and elegant expression. Correct eye, well darkened, and good earset, low but well erect with good fringing. Good lean neck, with a typical slope into sufficiently strong shoulder. Well set legs, both fore and aft, and a lovely length of body with nicely moderated tuck-up. Well rounded rump, and excellent muscle tone gave a smooth, free flowing movement that screamed elegance.

    2nd – Hawkins' PENDRALIER PHENOMENAL (CKCS)8 Mth Blenheim dog. Nice flat skull, with a good shallow stop. Good eye and ear and a good scissor bite. Has good lay of shoulder and well sprung ribs, with a nice, level back. Well up to size for his age, but moderately boned, with good turn of stifle. Movement was slightly erratic today.

Puppy (1, 0 Abs)

    1st – Hawkins' PENDRALIER ELISE (CKCS) 8 Mth Blenheim bitch. Nicely flat skull of the correct size, with nice large eye and well set ear. Good slight arch to neck, and good moderate chest. Well laid shoulder and a nice short coupling to the body held well sprung ribs. Good level back, well turned stifle and nicely compact feet. Gay in character with free movement and an ever-wagging tail.

Junior (2, 1 Abs)

    1st – Roper & Osland's JICARA KISS THE GIRLS (Chihuahua SC) 1 Yr old Fawn dog. Good head, with correct apple-dome. Large eye, and well flared ears gave good expression. Nice, slight arch to neck, with good lay of shoulder above good straight forelegs. Good, level back with well sprung ribs and nice muscular hindquarters. Well let down hocks and correct turn of stifle. Lovely brisk movement, with good sickle tail.

Yearling (2, 1 Abs)

    1st – Mr & Mrs Warren's  PEDARA THE WORLD IS MINE (ETT) 17 Mth dog. Lovely narrow wedge of a skull, with good dark eye, and perfect flame to ear. Good arch to the graceful neck, leading on to well laid shoulders and down to good, straight forelegs. Body nicely compact, well balanced with well sprung ribs and correct rise. Excellent muscle tone to rear, with a good turn of stifle gave very good drive to the free and flowing movement with correct extended trot. Stands like a rock and a pleasure to go over.

Graduate (2, 0 Abs)

    1st – Roper & Osland's JICARA TOP NOTCH NIKITOS (Chihuahua SC) 2 Yr old Red & White dog. Excellent head, with correct eye and ear. Neck had a nice arch, and shoulders were well laid. Good, level back, and well sprung ribs. Topline held well on the move, with a characteristic brisk gait and good, sickle tail.

    2nd – Dodd's DOUCAI'S GIN FIZZ WITH ANADEIA (Chinese Crested) 4 ½ Yr old Hairless bitch, of good Deer type. Good head, with nice crest and correct eye and ear. A little unsettled today. Clean shoulder, with good leg and a well supple body. Nice, firm stifle and well let down hocks, but movement slightly erratic today.

Open (2, 1 Abs)

    1st – Dodd's NIKITOS NOWHERENEARNORMAL (Chihuahua SC) 2 ½ Yr old Cream dog. Excellent head, with very good dome to skull. Good, large eye, and well flared ears gave that typical chihuahua expression. Good level back and well sprung ribs with loveley, well laid shoulder. Leg and muscle very good, both fore and aft, with excellent movement holding the topline well.

Minor Puppy (1, 0 Abs)

    1st – Howe's VALALLER RAINCHILD (Swedish Vallhund) 6 Mth bitch. Good wedge of skull, with correct eye and ear. Good reach of neck and well laid shoulders. Good bend in forearm, well sprung ribs and good, broad croup. Good angulation at rear with good bone and nice muscle. Movement good, needs work on the stand.

Graduate (3, 2 Abs)

    1st – Hackney's STARVON BRING IT ON (Swedish Vallhund) 2 ½ Yr old NBT dog. Nice head, holding correct eye and ear with good scissor bite. Good length to chest with well sprung ribs. Good bend to foreleg and well angulated hind gave nice and free movement with good drive. Nice harsh coat with clean colour.

Open (4, 3 Abs)

    1st – Hackney's STARVON ALL ABOUT ME (Swedish Vallhund) Nearly 4 Yr old NBT dog. Good, clean wedge of a head, very masculine, with excellent eye and earset. Excellent harsh coat, with strong harness marking. Well muscled neck, leading on to well laid shoulders. Good bend in foreleg, loveley level back and good depth of chest with well sprung ribs. Good angulation to rear, coupled with well bent stifle and excellent muscle tone gave powerful movement, driven and yet free.
