 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers

P (2) 1. Wakely’s Cretshengan Emerald Lake BOS. 2. Fielder’s Cretshengan Signy. It was hard separating these two who I now see are litter sisters and I’m sure they will swap places many times in the future. Both are compact with well sprung ribs, deep brisket and well bent stifles. They have pretty wedge shaped heads with alert expressions. In the end it came down to markings. J. (4, 1 abs)  1. C. Emerald Lake. 2. C. Signy. 3. Burgess’ Melanitta Sinamay. PG (5, 3 abs) 1. Trickett’s Ripplerush Orval for Tollpepper. Her head is well proportioned with its slight wedge shape, high set ears and almond shaped eyes set well apart. I found her a little shelly in body today but her overall shape is good and she carries a good coat with undercoat. Her movement is typical with its springy action, strong rear drive and head carried almost level with her back. 2. M. Sinamay. Looking very raw with a lot of daylight underneath and sadly out of coat. That said she carries a strong topline, has well laid shoulders and good length of upper arm. Doesn’t have the head or tail carriage of the winner. O. (9, 2 abs) 1. Fielder’s Schindow Junior Cowboy with Cretshengan. This dog is terrific for size, shape and head and tail carriage. His body is compact and well muscled with a short back and level topline. He is well boned, stands on tight round feet, has strong, slightly sloping pasterns, excellent depth of chest and well sprung ribs. His hindquarters are very well muscled with good bend of stifle. He has a very handsome head of correct proportions with the kindest expression and high set ears. His coat is lush with dense undercoat. On the move he displays a typical jaunty action and carries his head just above the level of his back. Fabulous tail carriage. BOB. 2. Streven’s Sh Ch Erikachen Conaire at Tollosty JW ShCM ShCEx. Another very well constructed, compact and jaunty dog. He is well off for bone and on the stack is of powerful appearance. I found him stronger in head than the winner but his eyes are of good shape and his expression friendly and alert. On the move his head was carried higher than I prefer and I felt his handler moved him too quickly which caused him to lose some of the required springiness. RBOB. 3. Fuard’s Tollelkin Bay of Ice.
