East Anglian Collie Association

EAST ANGLIAN COLLIE ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW - Rough Collie Dogs & Bitches

14TH APRIL 2019

A very cold but dry day, suited the dogs well but not so much their handlers! A very well run show with exceptionally efficient stewards, of whom kept the ring running well, my thanks to Miranda Blake and Michelle Smith. I was very pleased with the lovely entry of both Rough and Smooth Collies and had some real quality dogs to handle. Movement generally was very good with just a few moving wide at the back but I felt that the grass at the venue was a bit long, which did hamper some exhibits.

ROUGH COLLIE DOGS

Veteran Dog (3/0 ABS)

1. MELLISH’S DEMELEWIS CATCHMYDRIFT – 8 year old Blue Merle Dog with clean chiselled head, correct eye shape, well placed ears used well, good length of neck which fits correctly into well placed and laid back shoulders, lovely depth of chest and correct front and rear angulation, good length of back and correct rise over loin, well placed croup and good length of tail, well muscled and lovely bend of stifle into well let down hocks that gave him power on the move. Undeniably BVD and pleased to award BVIB and RBVIS.

2. HULL’S LIZMARK GOLD STANDARD Sh.CM – 7 year old Sable Dog with clean foreface and lovely eye, correct stop but deeper through back skull than 1, well placed and used ears, decent neck, slightly shorter in length of back, preferred the front angulation and chest of 1.
